"Who are you? What do you want?" Bai Yihong shouted, getting ready to rush over.

Bai Ruozhu called out in alarm, "Father, stay back, don’t move, keep your distance!"

Bai Yihong barely took two steps forward before being stopped by Bai Ruozhu’s shout, he looked at the knife held against Lin Ping’er’s throat and dared not make any hasty movements.

Now, only Bai Ruozhu’s eyes and mouth could move. She looked at Li Yi with some surprise, thinking that she might still be of use to him.

"Release my mother, you said it yourself, not to harm my family. If you let my family go today, I promise I will spare you once in the future," Bai Ruozhu said, taking a breath.

Li Yi suddenly burst out laughing, his three subordinates joined him, as if they had just heard the funniest joke.

"Do you think I’ll end up in your hands? Don’t forget, your only option is to run." A storm was brewing in Li Yi’s eyes, he remembered how easily Bai Ruozhu had felled him when she ran away before, as if she really could take his life. The feeling made him quite uncomfortable.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t bother arguing with them, she turned to her second brother and said, "Look after the family, Zepei. Don’t come after me. I don’t want anything to happen to any of you, otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to kill myself to apologise."

The women in the courtyard started to cry, the men’s eyes turned red with anger they couldn’t vent. Faced with these villains, they felt utterly helpless.

Just then, a small figure quietly snuck up behind the four men. In the moonlight, his face was so cold it seemed to be covered with a layer of frost, and there was even a murderous intent in his eyes.

The moonlight found his arm, a thin arm with a wrist that seemed could be snapped with a gentle twist. Yet it was this slender arm that was holding a large kitchen knife, making his small frame seem even more fragile.
