Jiang Yichun’s eyes glimmered as he suddenly pulled her towards him, assertively embracing her. He then leaned over and planted a noisy kiss on her cheek.

"Returning your kiss. Now we’re even," he said, a proud gleam in his eyes.

Bai Ruozhu rubbed her cheek, barely brushing off non-existent saliva, and intentionally made a show of grimacing. She said, "My Dengdeng’s kisses smell sweet. Yours is stinky."

Far from being offended, Jiang Yichun reached out and gently touched her earlobe, saying, "Men can’t be too sweet-smelling. Otherwise, how could they be called stinky men?" After this, he burst out laughing again.

Bai Ruozhu’s eyes also twinkled with amusement. He smiled more these days, at least around her, he’s not as distant as he used to be. This man was changing little by little for her.

He was looking at her, her adorable laughter making his heart tingle. He leaned over to whisper in her ear, "Once I get better, will you accompany me to the Hot Spring Mansion for a walk?"

This gave him a fresh idea. He thought he should change his strategy. Maybe trying to seduce her would be more effective. Alright, the trip to the Hot Spring Mansion needed to be planned sooner.

With this in mind, he suddenly put aside his playful demeanor, saying, "The expert I found to help with the poisonous insect poisoning is almost here, so I might have to leave for a few days. I can’t possibly have them come here, can I?"

Bai Ruozhu quickly widened her eyes and asked, "Where did she touch?"

Jiang Yichun’s expression was quite awkward, saying, "If I could stay lucid, I wouldn’t let her touch at all. Stop asking."

Bai Ruozhu felt disgruntled. With a frown, she threatened, "Make sure to clean yourself properly, wash three times! No, ten times!"

She feared that not only did Wu Wanqing touch him with her hands, but she also kissed him! Goodness, Bai Ruozhu felt like chopping her up!

"Ten times? My skin will peel off," Jiang Yichun touched his nose and spoke helplessly.

Bai Ruozhu glared at him and continued, "She might have noticed something. You should teach her a lesson and don’t let her touch you again!"

Jiang Yichun embraced Bai Ruozhu’s waist, gently pinched her side, planted a kiss on her face, and said, "Your wish is my command, my lady!"

Bai Ruozhu’s cheeks reddened. She reached out and wiped her face. The two adults had followed Dengdeng’s lead, indeed it seems like their inner child was still alive and well.

The next day was New Year’s Eve. The Bai Family yard was lively with couplets and spring festival decorations being put up. Normally, Bai Zepei should have been the one to write these, but he insisted that Bai Ruozhu should write a couplet to check if her writing skills had regressed.

Bai Ruozhu had no choice but to comply. Her handwriting was quite elegant, and strangely similar to her predecessor’s, thus even if it wasn’t breathtaking, it was still quite beautiful. That’s why the couplet was snatched away by Lin Ping’er to be put up on her door.

After lunch, Bai Ruozhu carried Dengdeng out for a walk. This time, however, she didn’t go empty-handed and brought some New Year gifts for the Wu family.

Lin Ping’er asked with curiosity, "Are you going to the Meng residence?"

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, "I’ve treated the son of a family. Today, I need to do a follow-up visit."

Upon reaching the Wu Residence, Bai Ruozhu handed the New Year gifts to the housekeeper, explaining that they were for Master Wu. Then, she took another parcel, which contained a mink vest, and headed towards Jiang Yichun’s yard.

Seeing her carrying Dengdeng over, Jiang Yichun quickly approached to take the child into his arms and began playfully lifting him high up into the air.

"Hey, chubby boy, you’ve gotten heavier," Jiang Yichun laughed.

Dengdeng was having a great time, continuously giggling in delight.

After a few lifts, Jiang Yichun stopped, finally noticing the small bundle in Bai Ruozhu’s hand. His eyes lit up immediately as he asked, "Is this a gift for me?"

Bai Ruozhu smiled and nodded, then took Dengdeng from him and handed him the bundle.

Jiang Yichun laughed happily. He had probably never received a present from Bai Ruozhu before. Seeing his happy reaction, Bai Ruozhu quietly reflected on herself, considering how much he had given her. In future, she should be more thoughtful of him as well.

Upon opening the package, a black and smooth mink vest appeared.

Bai Ruozhu chuckled as she explained, "I noticed that you always wear so little, so I feared that you might get cold. This mink is light yet warm. I used a weaving method to join it at the shoulders and sides, so it wouldn’t be bulky and impede movement."

Jiang Yichun unfolded the mink vest, expressing with joy, "I really like it."

Once he said that, he began to unbutton his shirt, clearly indicating he wanted to put it on immediately.

Watching him with amusement, Bai Ruozhu heard footsteps approaching from behind. Turning her head, she saw Wu Yunfeng and Wu Wanqing enter the yard.

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun stood in the room cuddling Dengdeng, but the door was left wide open. From the incoming angle, it was easy for Wu Yunfeng and Wu Wanqing to see what was happening in the room.

Wu Yunfeng paused, an awkward expression formed, seeming like it was an inopportune time for his arrival. His disciple was undressing!

Wu Wanqing quickly turned her face away, acting like avoiding a sight she wasn’t supposed to see, but a glint was evident in her eyes.

Bai Ruozhu came to the realization that, oh no, Wu Yunfeng has misunderstood!

She angrily glared at Jiang Yichun, see that? Your master has misunderstood!

Jiang Yichun quickly stopped unbuttoning, and stepping forward to greet Wu Yunfeng, "Master, come inside, sit down. Ruozhu has gifted me a mink vest, I was just about to wear it."

Only then did Wu Yunfeng noticed the mink vest on the table. Assuming he had misunderstood, he chuckled awkwardly as he entered the room.

Bai Ruozhu, holding Dengdeng, bowed to Wu Yunfeng and Wu Wanqing. She thought that it’s a good thing they clarified the situation. Otherwise, what would Jiang Yichun’s master think of her – behaving indecently in broad daylight, disregarding his health, and even keeping the door wide open while with a child? What would that make her?
