Chapter 530: Chapter 532: Finally Found Him

Bai Ruozhu was also following behind, continuously thanking the people on both sides, without any semblance of anger or shock. It was as if she was going to the Government Office for a courtesy visit.

After handing over the criminals to the officers, Bai Ruozhu gave a bow to the people who had accompanied her, saying, "Thank you all. These petty thieves could not have harmed me. Rest assured, you should go back and rest now."

In the middle of the night, the crowd was initially energized by the capture of the criminals. Now that the three culprits had been imprisoned, the crowd began to feel drowsy. They all bid Bai Ruozhu farewell and returned home.

As Bai Ruozhu and the shopkeeper were walking back, they saw a frail beggar sitting by the roadside humming, complaining, "My arm is going to break. How come there are so many people late at night? Who stepped on my arm?"

Bai Ruozhu somehow felt a missed beat of her heart at this. She thought Jiang Yichun had come to her, but a glance at the beggar quickly dimmed her hopes. The person couldn’t possibly be Jiang Yichun judging by his stature.

However, she did indeed encounter an injured person, who was likely unintentionally trampled upon by the crowd apprehending the three criminals.

Seeing her approaching the beggar, the innkeeper exhaled onto his numbingly cold hands and advised, "Doctor Zhuhua, let’s not delay and head back to the inn to avoid running into bad people again."

Without turning around, Bai Ruozhu said, "I’ll take a look at his injuries. During my three-day free clinic in town, anyone, regardless of their social status, can receive free medical treatment."

The shopkeeper opened his mouth but was at a loss for words. Leaving her behind didn’t feel right either, so he resigned himself to wait with the young shop assistant.

Bai Ruozhu squatted down in front of the beggar. Immediately, a strong stench assaulted her nostrils. Being slightly averse to dirt, she wrinkled her nose. Regardless, she reached out and took hold of the beggar’s dirty wrist to check his pulse.

Taking his pulse gave her a shock. The beggar’s meridians had been damaged in several places. If he wasn’t regularly injured or beaten, his situation must be exceptional.

She couldn’t resist taking an extra hard look at the beggar. She became a bit nervous. If he intended to harm her, being so close, it would hardly be avoidable, it was inevitable she would get injured.

In surprise, she observed the injury he was covering on his arm. Her eyes widened a bit. Jiang Yichun had once been injured at the same spot on his right arm!

"Doctor, is my arm broken?" The beggar asked pitifully, looking up at Bai Ruozhu.

As the two were very close, Bai Ruozhu saw a pair of bright eyes through the messy hair of the beggar. She almost couldn’t resist the urge to hug him tightly.

Her intuition was right. He was Jiang Yichun. He might be able to conceal everything else, but she wouldn’t mistake those eyes. Those were the same deep eyes that stared at her under the moonlight on so many nights. How could she forget them?

After putting great effort into calming herself down, she forced a normal tone and said, "Yes, it’s broken. Follow me to the inn for a bone setting. I don’t have any medicine on hand, and I didn’t bring any silver needles."

"Does it cost money? I don’t have any money," the beggar revealed a look of delight.

The shopkeeper on the side was getting quite angry. Since when had their inn allowed beggars to enter? But since Doctor Zhuhua had spoken, he couldn’t say anything. He could only vent his frustration on the beggar, saying loudly, "Doctor Zhuhua is offering free consultations to the townspeople, not asking for any money. You can rest assured!"

The beggar gave a ’hehe’ laugh, rose from the ground and said, "Thank you, Doctor."

Bai Ruozhu wanted to lend a hand to help him, but eventually restrained herself. She gave the beggar a sidelong look from the corner of her eyes. He seemed about her height, thin and weak. How could Jiang Yichun disguise himself like this? While his face could be disguised, how could he change his body shape?

Suddenly, she recalled the "Bone Shrinking Skill" mentioned in martial arts novels. How could she forget?

Soon, the group returned to the inn. The keeper and assistants wanted to sleep and were highly annoyed by the stinking beggar. Only the waiter was still smiling at Bai Ruozhu, asking, "Doctor, can I help with anything?"

"Bring a bucket of hot water upstairs. I need to clean his wound," Bai Ruozhu told him.

"OK! I’ll go fetch it," the waiter darted towards the kitchen. The large stove there kept a large pot of hot water, always ready for use.

Soon, the waiter brought the hot water and followed Bai Ruozhu and the beggar upstairs. Bai Ruozhu asked him to put the water inside the room, then said, "You’ve been busy all night, go and get some sleep now. We won’t need your help from here."

"Alright, I will go to sleep," the waiter nodded, closed the door behind him and left the room. He mulled over how Doctor Zhuhua truly had a Buddha’s heart. Other doctors would undoubtedly not want to deal with a stinking beggar.

Suddenly, the beggar’s demeanor changed inside the room. He walked silently to the door, as if checking the safety outside. After confirming, he abruptly turned around, strode towards Bai Ruozhu.

Bai Ruozhu was dumbfounded, staring at the beggar approaching. With every step he took, a slight crackling sound could be heard, his body elongating progressively. By the time he was in front of her, he was back to his normal stature, forcing her to look up at him. He brushed the unruly hair from his face and swooped down to embrace the shocked Bai Ruozhu. He chuckled softly in her ear, saying, "How could you be so brave? How am I supposed to relax?"

Bai Ruozhu’s eyes were already moist. It was him, truly him. He was fine, standing right in front of her. All the worry and fear of the past few days were all worthwhile. She found him!

Before she could get a word out, he placed a hand behind her neck. His somewhat chapped lips pressed down fiercely onto hers, blocking her off completely. Their lips tangled with each other as his tongue forced its way past her teeth, exploring unfettered. It felt as if he wanted to devour her.

Bai Ruozhu never knew that a kiss from Jiang Yichun could be so wild. He had softly kissed her before, they had shared passionate and affectionate kisses, and even excitedly passionate ones. But none were as intense as this one. His kiss was like a torrential storm, making her feel like a small boat rocking in the storm, unable to control herself. She went limp in his arms.

He relentlessly continued his assault, pressing her up against the wall. It was as if all the longing from the past few days had been poured into this kiss, deeply released. It was as if he wanted to imprint her onto his body, forever his and only his.

Jiang Yichun trailed kisses down Bai Ruozhu’s neck. Bai Ruozhu, finally able to catch her breath, could only gasp for air. Her mind was blank, clutching his neck tightly. She was afraid he would disappear from her sight, yet also silently inviting him.

With a rustling sound, Jiang Yichun ripped open Bai Ruozhu’s collar. The stark contrast between her fair skin and the disguised dark skin on her neck heightened the sensory pleasure. He couldn’t help but groan, this was too much to handle...
