Before the Wang’s matriarch could respond, she was cut off by Zhao E, "Mother, they have come to bring news. Ruolan tried to hang herself."

The Wang Family all seemed shocked, but Bai Ruozhu took a careful look. Both the old lady and the old man of the Wang Family looked surprised, but they did not show much concern, demonstrating their lack of care for Bai Ruolan. This probably explains why Bai Ruolan did not seek their help.
