Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Another Leg Broken
With a buzz, Jiang Yichun felt like he was set on fire in an instant. His body was aflame. This woman even dared to suggest he should warm her bed in her dreams. Did she understand what that meant?
Of course, her later comments about him kneeling down and singing Conquest slightly irked him. But being the magnanimous man he was, he decided to dismiss it as dream nonsense.
So it was said, men only hear what they want to hear. And all he had heard was about warming her bed. Everything else was brushed aside. His being driven by his primal urge was undeniable.
Bai Ruozhu turned and was practically lying face down. Despite his raging desires, Jiang Yichun couldn’t steal a kiss from her lips anymore. He was increasingly restless. Not helping matters, Bai Ruozhu, despite her terrible sleeping position, managed to kick off half of her quilts and had her long leg raised, trapping the quilt between her thighs.
Bai Ruozhu was wearing ancient underwear: loose white cotton trousers. Even though they were not as sexually appealing as contemporary women’s sleepwear, to Jiang Yichun, it was an irresistable temptation. Particularly her jade-like little feet and exposed white calves nearly choked him.
Her toes curled playfully, then relaxed to continue sleeping. A simple unintentional act, akin to scratching Jiang Yichun’s heart, nearly drew his soul away.
Jiang Yichun took a deep breath. He couldn’t resist the urge to yank this woman and give her a good smack on her butt, telling her just how badly she was tormenting him while she slept so soundly all along.
Though he was chaste, he wasn’t alien to women’s allure. He had, during his imperial duties, encountered many beautiful women and had female colleagues in his office. But none of them made him lose his ground like this.
He even laughed bitterly at himself. Had he become the type that thinks with his lower body? But it was clear that it wasn’t his fault, but Bai Ruozhu’s. She made him lose control of his desires!
While Jiang Yichun was fighting an internal battle with himself, Dengdeng moved and opened his eyes.
In a split moment, all his nefarious thoughts were reined in. Face-to-face with those pure and innocent eyes, he could not dare to do anything beast-like.
Dengdeng blinked; his vision started to gain focus, and finally rested on Jiang Yichun. Scared that Dengdeng’s cry might awaken the exhausted Bai Ruozhu, Jiang Yichun hurriedly stretched his hand out to hold him, only to find that Bai Ruozhu’s arm, hooked around his neck, was quite tight. He had to use some force to move her arm away.
Fortunately, Bai Ruozhu was so tired that she did not wake up through all this.
Jiang Yichun picked up Dengdeng and gestured him to be quiet. He whispered, "Your mother is exhausted, you should be considerate and not wake her."
Whether Dengdeng understood or was just hungry and wanted to wake up to feed, he didn’t cry or make a fuss. He just played in Jiang Yichun’s arms.
Jiang Yichun took the child in his arms and wandered around the room, occasionally hearing the suppressed moans from Bai Zehao and Wan Caiyue’s bridal chamber, giving him unspeakable anguish.
He was also afraid that Bai Ruozhu might get cold, so he went to pull the quilt over her. The tantalizing sight of her calf and jade foot was now covered. Jiang Yichun finally felt he could breathe some relief.
Dengdeng was held steady in his arm, playing with his own hand, blowing on it. He really liked Jiang Yichun, and wanted to mimic his actions, but alas, he was too small to manage it.
As Dengdeng was about to cry with frustration, Jiang Yichun quickly blew on his hand. The little one broke into giggles, changing his facial expressions quickly.
Jiang Yichun endured the agony as he coaxed the baby in Bai Ruozhu’s room. He had no idea how much time passed before Dengdeng finally fell asleep. He carefully placed Dengdeng back in bed and covered both the mother and child with a blanket before he reluctantly left.
After leaving the Bai Family residence, Jiang Yichun couldn’t release his pent-up anger, so he wanted to vent somewhere. He thought back to what had happened in the afternoon and headed straight for the old mansion of the Bai family.
In the old mansion of the Bai family, the grandfather had been taken away, so the grandmother had gone after them to Fengye Village in the afternoon. Sadly, Bai Lu didn’t allow her to see anyone, saying that the grandfather’s moods were unstable and could possibly harm someone. If the grandmother wished to stay and keep Bai Fu company for a while, he would naturally welcome her, but she couldn’t take anyone away.
Fearful of being detained herself, the grandmother beat a hasty retreat from Back Mountain Village.
Meanwhile, the third son had injured his leg again and was throwing a tantrum at home. The grandmother was heartbroken but couldn’t endure his tantrums, so Bai Ruolan ended up bearing the brunt of his anger. She brought dinner to the third son, only to have it thrown at her.
At this moment, everyone in the old mansion had already retired to their dreams. Jiang Yichun quietly landed on the roof. Without much effort, he found the third son’s room.
He looked at the third son coldly, a mocking smile on his face. That this sort of creature dared to mess with his woman was simply a sign of a death wish.
At a slight movement of his fingertips, he shot a soybean hitting the third son in the leg. The third son jerked awake suddenly, crying out in pain, "Ah, I’ve got a cramp in my leg. Can someone help me moderate it?".
His broken leg being useless, he was unable to straighten the leg with the cramp with both his hands, and continued to cry out in pain, "Nanny, Second Sister, what are you doing? Do you want to see me die?"
Jiang Yichun watched it all from the rooftop, emotionless. After some time, the old mansion’s candle began to burn. The grandmother and Bai Ruolan rushed over one after another. One of them went to light the candle, while the other nervously tried to straighten the leg with the cramp.
However, they had no idea what was going on. As soon as Bai Ruolan, who had just lit the candle, slipped suddenly. The candleholder slipped from her hand towards the direction of the grandmother. The grandmother dodged in a panic, and the third son also started cursing, "Bai Ruolan, are you trying to burn me to death? Are you upset that I didn’t become disabled and now you want to kill me?"
Bai Ruolan got up from the floor, waving her hands in panic, "I didn’t do it on purpose. I don’t know why I slipped."
Before her words had fallen, the grandmother suddenly cried out and fell towards the third son. Her heavy body looked as if it was going to crush his leg.
The third son, alarmed, quickly dodged, and the grandmother fell to the ground with a thud. It seemed that she fell heavily, complaining, "Third Son, what’s on your floor? It’s slippery enough to kill. You’re pretty disgusting."
Just as the third son was about to defend himself, he felt his leg give way, and fell to the ground in a heap.
Everyone in the house seemed to hear a crisp sound of cracking, immediately followed by the third son’s screams. The nearby neighbors were awakened by this, and the kind-hearted ones lit candles to inquire about the situation. They heard the grandmother crying out from the yard of the Bai family, "My God, my Third Son has broken his other leg too!"
Under the cover of the dark night, Jiang Yichun laughed as though he were a fox. He had already left the old mansion of the Bai family far behind and was heading for the town.
