Bai Ruozhu giggled out loud, realizing that this guy was quite concerned about his appearance after all.

"A man with a scar isn’t a big deal. Just don’t cover it with your hair, it’s not good for the wound to heal." Bai Ruozhu said this and combed his hair back. She had already guessed that he didn’t want her to see it.

"Erm, I can’t lift my arm properly. Can you help me comb my hair?" Jiang Yichun’s eyes brightened again, making Bai Ruozhu dare not look at him directly. Therefore, she had to take out a wooden comb, inviting him to sit down and started combing his hair.

She would never tell him that she had fed him medicine by holding it in her own mouth, let alone that he had taken her first kiss and even passionately kissed her multiple times.

"Oh, is it so.." Jiang Yichun sounded somewhat disappointed, as if this was not the answer he was hoping for.

Bai Ruozhu took a long time to finish combing his hair, and even then, Jiang Yichun felt that it was done too quickly. Bai Ruozhu then disinfected the exposed wound on his head and applied an herbal medicine.

Bai Ruozhu sighed with relief. As she thought, that man was bound to become a corpse sooner or later. He was indeed not worth fearing.

"The other assassins have scattered and fled. They won’t pose any threat to your safety. I have to report this incident, so it will take at least five days, or up to half a month for me to return. You..." He paused, "Please take care of yourself."

Jiang Yichun sighed in silence. He knew he couldn’t be too pushy. After giving Bai Ruozhu a final look, he bid farewell, and left.

In the dream, a figure emerged from the mist. Bai Ruozhu couldn’t see the person’s appearance, or even the silhouette. But something in her heart told her that the figure was Chang Sheng. She didn’t know why she was nervous about it. She stared intently at the shadow, eager to know what Chang Sheng looked like. Even though she had no feelings for this man, he was still the father of Dengdeng. Maybe she could provide some answers if Dengdeng ever asked.

But for some unknown reason, she couldn’t see his face clearly. And it seemed like he was always walking ahead, yet never reached her. Bai Ruozhu was so anxious that she dashed forward herself. While running, she stretched out her hand to wave away the clouds and mist, eager to see the person clearly.

Just as she was running, Chang Sheng turned around and started walking away. She was so desperate, she shouted. "Stand there! Don’t you dare leave!"

At that moment, Chang Sheng turned his head and his face was suddenly in clear view. Unbelievably, it was Jiang Yichun’s face!

Bai Ruozhu stared at him in surprise. The moonlight shone on him, making him look extraordinarily refined, and even a bit domineering. His face, however, was filled with mockery and contempt.

"Why..." Bai Ruozhu shouted, and suddenly woke up from the dream. She felt cold and promptly covered herself tighter with the blanket. It was just a dream.

She couldn’t help but chuckle to herself. Could she be sick? How could she dream of Chang Sheng turning around and turning into Jiang Yichun? Perhaps she missed Jiang Yichun too much. She grimaced. After all, she wasn’t the type of woman that can’t live without a man. What a ridiculous thought!

Yet she secretly reprimanded herself. How could she not mention many important things when she saw him? Moreover, she thought she ought to mention the fact that Lady Li was poisoned. It seemed like she only stared blankly at him and forgot everything else. Men really can make a woman lose her mind.

The very next morning, after opening their stall, Fusa happily showed off two new baby caps to Bai Ruozhu for feedback. Bai Ruozhu nodded continually, Fusa was a fast learner and was able to improvise her designs, coming up with new patterns all by herself.

Lin Ping’er, the daughter of the Lin family, also managed to knit a baby cap the night before. Bai Ruozhu, on the other hand, hadn’t been able to finish anything due to Jiang Yichun’s visit. Now, seeing the achievements of the other two, she felt somewhat embarrassed.

"Your baby is still small, and you have to tend to him at night. Don’t wear yourself out over this." Fusa said earnestly. "I know from experience, back when Niuniu used to wake up three or four times every night, it really wore me out."

Bai Ruozhu just laughed. If what Fusa said is true, then her own child, Dengdeng, seem like a very well-behaved baby. During the first month, he woke up a few times due to having to poop and pee. After that, it was mainly only twice a night and currently, once a night feed seems to suffice.
