Chapter 1335: Chapter 1337: Unexpected Discovery, No Blood_1

Having learned of Furball’s new ability, Bai Ruozhu hurriedly took it out of the Space and planned to find Jiang Yichun and the others to meet up. With this ability, it would be somewhat safer to investigate the Holy Hall.

Fortunately, Jiang Yichun and his party had not left long ago, and some arrangements made before they entered had delayed them, so Bai Ruozhu caught up with them quite quickly. She ducked into the Space one moment, then stealthily hid herself the next and soon found Jiang Yichun and the others in the backyard of the Holy Hall.

"Achun!" Bai Ruozhu called out softly, showing half of her face from a corner.

Jiang Yichun was startled and instantly rushed over to her, reproaching her with a dismayed expression, "Why have you come? Weren’t we supposed to meet at the inn and wait for me?"

Chen Feng and the others did not rush over but all turned to look at Bai Ruozhu, and Jianqi even helplessly shook his head.

In an instant, Bai Ruozhu felt like a disobedient child causing trouble, scorned by everyone, yet she had clearly come to help—how unjust.

"I can hide in that place now. You don’t have to worry about my safety anymore. Also, Furball has awakened and can create illusions for enemies within a range. I thought maybe I could be of some help," Bai Ruozhu said swiftly.

When Jiang Yichun heard this, his face also showed surprise. If she could not return to that Immortal realm again, he would blame himself for a lifetime. He always felt it was because of his last intrusion.

"That’s great, you’ve come with me. If there’s any danger, just hide in there. Don’t worry about us," Jiang Yichun said in a low voice.

Jiang Yichun took her hand and led her over, and the others did not ask more questions but continued searching in the Holy Hall.

However, despite their searching, they still could not find any trace of Zhanna and Chu Hai. And as they moved further inside, they encountered more mechanisms and prohibitions. Jiang Yichun hesitated whether they could handle these mechanical traps and still come out unscathed.

Just then, a figure hurriedly approached in the distance. Everyone quickly hid, and upon a closer look saw it was Jin Jing.

Jiang Yichun gestured to the others to wait where they were, while he himself, pulling Bai Ruozhu along, quietly followed Jin Jing.

With just the two of them, the target was smaller; if there was an issue, they could also hide inside her Immortal sanctuary. The rest following them would not be much help.

The pair held their breath in silence, following stealthily behind Jin Jing. The prohibitions Jin Jing opened wouldn’t close immediately, so they could pass safely after him. Jin Jing knew where the mechanical traps were, skirting around them time and again, allowing Jiang Yichun and Bai Ruozhu to quietly note their locations.

Eventually, Jin Jing stopped in front of a room, respectfully saying, "Saintess, we haven’t caught the person. They must have escaped into the Imperial Palace. My mother continues the search."

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun exchanged glances. Were the people Jin Jing mentioned Zhanna and Chu Hai? If so, the pair were temporarily safe.

"You brought so many people, yet you couldn’t capture a cripple. What use are you?" The cold voice of Saintess Honglian came from inside the room. The door suddenly opened, and Jin Jing was violently pulled into the room by a force, then the door promptly slammed shut.

Although the moment was fleeting, in that split-second Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun both saw the ferocious appearance of Honglian inside the room, even her eyes had turned red, just like a man-eating demon!

Was that truly the holy and warm Saintess in front of others? Why such a drastic difference?

Jiang Yichun pulled Bai Ruozhu up to the roof, carefully lifting a tile. This allowed them to see everything inside the room.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment, pulled Jiang Yichun into the Space, then turned on the large screen and said, "It’s safer to watch from here."

Although it was Jiang Yichun’s second time entering, he still couldn’t quite recover his composure, and it took him a long while to come to his senses and say, "How has it changed?"

Bai Ruozhu gave him a smile and said, "It got upgraded, stop talking and quickly see what they are saying."

Upgraded? Jiang Yichun felt somewhat confused, but he decided to first observe the situation between Honglian and Jin Jing.

In the room, Honglian raised her hand and slapped Jin Jing across the face, saying with a livid expression, "How can you all be so foolish? You brought so many people, couldn’t you be more cautious? How could you let Lian Jia take someone away?"

Jin Jing didn’t dare to fight back when she was hit, standing respectfully; this really didn’t seem like her at all.

"How terrified Jin Jing must be of Honglian," Bai Ruozhu said, puzzled, from within the space.

However, Jiang Yichun furrowed his brows and said, "Look closely, there’s not the slightest swell or redness on Jin Jing’s face."

Jin Jing remained silent with her mouth closed. Indeed, her face showed neither redness nor swelling. In contrast, Honglian shook her hand out and cursed under her breath, then took out a thin golden whip from a cabinet nearby and began to lash Jin Jing with it.

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun couldn’t discern what the whip was made of, but Jin Jing’s complexion changed drastically, and she quickly fell to the ground in pain, begging for mercy.

"I am after all your sister; please spare me this time," Jin Jing cried and said.

Honglian’s eyes flickered with disgust, and she brutally whipped Jin Jing’s abdomen, saying harshly, "Don’t you dare mention the words ’my sister’ to me, or I’ll have your soul scattered right now. You think you’re fit to be my sister? That’s revolting enough!"

Jin Jing, writhing in agony, began to roll on the ground, but she continued to speak defiantly through her pain.

"Do you think you are so sanctimonious? In the end, you still have to marry that stinking Sangta, spending every day with beasts. Ha-ha, what a joke. You’re nothing but a dog for the great elder, forced to go wherever he commands. How are you any better than me?"

Honglian, grinding her teeth, retorted, "Now you are my dog, can’t I deal with you as I wish?"

After saying that, she suddenly formed a strange hand seal and began to chant a spell. Oddly enough, Jin Jing suddenly calmed down, her eyes losing focus as she rose from the ground, standing like a lifeless puppet.

"Grab a sword and stab yourself, continue until you pierce through," said Honglian coldly.

The next second, Jin Jing drew her sword and began to stab herself in the abdomen. She seemed to have no consciousness, applying a lot of force, yet the sword just couldn’t penetrate, even making a ’ding ding’ sound as if her body was made of steel.

Honglian sneered, sat down cross-legged to meditate, and quickly returned to her serene and genial demeanor as the Saintess.

Meanwhile, Jin Jing continued to jab at herself, her clothing over her abdomen was stabbed into a large hole, revealing somewhat cyanotic skin underneath.

"Isn’t Jin Jing not human anymore?" Bai Ruozhu asked in surprise. She wasn’t practicing Iron Shirt; how could she be stabbed so many times without getting hurt?
