Chapter 1227: Chapter 1229: The Calculations of a Father-Daughter Relationship_1

Jianqi was stunned momentarily, his heart tightened, "Master, you’re not..."

Muyu, however, became excited and widened his eyes asking Bai Ruozhu, "Madam, you don’t mean to bite the hand that feeds you, do you?"

Bai Ruozhu gave him a sideways glance and said in a lower voice, "What ’biting the hand that feeds’ sounds so unpleasant; I am simply enforcing justice on Heaven’s behalf. Yet, they have more people, so we shouldn’t act rashly. Let’s wait for an opportunity, and if we cannot reap the benefits without lifting a finger, we will retreat immediately. Safety comes first."

After finishing, she said to Jianqi, "Send a secret signal to the people below to gather nearby and await orders."

"Yes." Jianqi obeyed the command and slipped away to secretly send the message—their methods of communication were not to be known by Muyu and the others.

Xiu Cuicui then approached Bai Ruozhu and whispered, "Master, Elder Qin must be acting behind the scenes without Yuedao Sect’s knowledge. He is quite ambitious and may have secretly stashed away many valuable things."

Bai Ruozhu nodded with satisfaction. Xiu Cuicui was hinting at keeping a survivor for further interrogation about the things Elder Qin might have hidden.

While they discussed this, the clash had erupted anew. Everyone thought that Elder Qin and his crew were at the end of their rope, about to be finished off by Tou Yuquan, when the situation suddenly took a drastic turn.

The gaunt face of Elder Qin twisted into a fierce expression as he spat out a mouthful of black blood, which clearly indicated both internal injuries and severe poisoning.

"Tou Yuquan, since you’re determined to kill me, I won’t let you off easily even in death!" Elder Qin spat out another mouthful of blood and suddenly flung something from his chest outwards.

His expression was so terrifying that even the previously fearless Tou Yuquan felt a wrenching tightness in his chest, an unprecedented sense of crisis welling up within him. Tou Yuquan desperately moved backward, intent on putting as much distance between himself and Elder Qin as possible.

Bai Ruozhu also felt a surge of fear. The next second, she was rattled by the sound of explosion, her ears buzzing, Qi Blood tumbling within her. Even at a considerable distance, she was affected this way, hence one could only imagine what had become of Tou Yuquan and the others.

Tou Yuquan managed to dodge quickly, but he didn’t stop vomiting blood. His subordinates fared no better—some were knocked unconscious by their internal injuries, while others simply died on the spot. In an instant, lives were lost as easily as if they were mere weeds.

"You... you actually had Lei Zhenzi, you really went all out." Tou Yuquan clutched his chest, struggling to speak due to erratic breaths.

Elder Qin himself did not fare any better; the explosion had greatly exacerbated his internal injuries. Clutching his chest and laughing ferociously, he said, "Lei Zhenzi had such great power? This is a Western air explosive I came upon unexpectedly. You really pushed me to this point, otherwise, this thing could have fetched a pretty penny."

With his side either dead or severely wounded, Elder Qin’s action was indeed a gamble of desperation.

Tou Yuquan gritted his teeth and charged forward, landing a Lieyang Palm on Elder Qin. The most fearsome technique of the Lieyang Gate struck Elder Qin like a kite with its string cut, sending him flying while spewing blood. When he finally hit the ground and his head tilted to one side, he was unquestionably dead.

"Hmph, in the end, aren’t you still dead?" Tou Yuquan laughed wildly, believing himself to be the ultimate victor. He was seriously injured internally, and the use of inner strength just now had aggravated it, causing him to cough up large volumes of blood as he laughed.

His subordinates were also heavily injured and couldn’t come to his aid; only one cautiously said, "Sect Leader, we should not linger here long. Let’s quickly remove the goods and depart."

"Check for any remnants of Qin Li, and don’t leave a single survivor!" Tou Yuquan ordered.

Just then, a slender figure clad in green suddenly darted out from an angle, moving so swiftly that Tou Yuquan and his side could hardly react before a flurry of steel knives were already flying towards Tou Yuquan, piercing his chest and throat.

Before Tou Yuquan fell, his eyes were wide open, he simply couldn’t believe that he would die at the hands of a girl, he had been far too careless.

As Bai Ruozhu was about to act, she raised her hand to stop everyone, Xiu Cuicui looked at the figure who killed Tou Yuquan, her face grim and severe.

"Junior Sister Qin is no simple character, eh? I never saw her exhibit such skilled use of hidden weapons and inner strength back at the Sect," Xiu Cuicui whispered.

Bai Ruozhu squinted, sizing up Qin Guchun from a distance, this girl she found extremely displeasing. The fact that she could emerge unscathed and launch a sneak attack meant she must have known her father’s plan and had fled before the "Western Qi Thunder" was thrown. And she hid in the shadows, if she had acted before Tou Yuquan landed a heavy blow on her father, couldn’t she have succeeded in the sneak attack, thus saving her father’s life?

Don’t say there was no time; Tou Yuquan’s intent to strike was so clear. If she could strike later, she could just as well have done so earlier. Why then didn’t she save her own father?

There can only be one answer, she was trying to save her own skin; after a fatal strike, escaping during the chaos naturally gave her the best chance to survive. She didn’t dare bet that there wouldn’t be one among her adversaries who was only lightly wounded, so she didn’t risk escaping with an injured person. If her father died and she then killed Tou Yuquan, it could be said that she avenged her father, at the very least letting others know that she avenged her father’s murder and escaped from the brink of death.

Unfortunately, all this was witnessed by Bai Ruozhu, how could she not see through the girl’s selfishness and ruthlessness?

Originally, when Qin Guchun poisoned Weng An, Bai Ruozhu felt that the girl’s capacity for love and hate was daring, and that Weng An, that scum, deserved it. But this scene made Bai Ruozhu feel a chill, calculating between father and daughter to such an extent, who in this world couldn’t she scheme against?

Sure enough, in the next second, Qin Guchun burst into a frenzied escape, even snatching something from a box. Because it was too far away and her movements were quick, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t make out what it was.

She signaled to Muyu with a look, "Catch that woman, if she resists fiercely, just kill her."

Xiu Cuicui was taken aback; she hadn’t expected her master to be so decisive.

Bai Ruozhu gestured broadly to the others, "Cover your faces, no talking. Kill any who resist, but our main target is the treasure. Take the goods and leave."

Bai Ruozhu had no fondness for the people of Lieyang Gate; for their own selfish reasons, they had destroyed a Sect, and it was unknown how much blood they had on their hands. It would be no loss if they all died.

Jianqi and the others received the order and surged out with their faces covered, Bai Ruozhu didn’t charge to the forefront but followed leisurely behind, occasionally scattering some powder into the air.

The members of Lieyang Gate hadn’t yet recovered from the shock of their leader’s death when they discovered several figures in black arriving. Despite their small numbers, wherever the two experts went, blood was shed, and the Lieyang Gate members had no strength to resist.

"It’s... it’s the vengeful spirits from the Yuye Sect come to claim our lives!" someone cried out in terror. These people were all internally injured, but in this moment, they didn’t care to recuperate and instead fled in all directions as if they had seen a ghost.

The corner of Bai Ruozhu’s mouth, hidden behind her mask, twitched slightly. A bit of Drug Powder was enough to shatter their spirits.

Some people knelt down, continuously kowtowing to Jianqi and the others, pleading for mercy while recounting their own sins...
