Chapter 95: Time for Beach Fest

As Elaina stated before, she never had the opportunity to attend any sort of beach festival. Aside from the fact that the nearest place where one can see the sea is just the seaport, there is no such thing as a beach for swimming for the public as it is reserved as a resort for the nobles therefore it is very exclusive to the rich people.

Elaina loathed going to such places as it was like a sign of her going with the nobles that are either corrupt or just plain sh*tty to the core. So the only experience she had with the sea was staring at it whenever she was disguised as going out in public. Other than that, it’s not part of what she would do.

But since this festival is something that the public would enjoy, Elaina is preparing for what she will do for this event.

Because she would not be swimming, she decided to exclude herself from swimsuits when Julia and Princess Margaux asked if she wanted to also get one. She could still wear one but she decided to just skip on it and perhaps wear that next year instead so both of the girls left with Princess Tabatha who arrived to join in to ask her sister to buy things for the festival preparation.

As for Elaina, since swimming is out of the question for her, she decided that she would instead focus on fishing. It might not be as exciting as swimming but fishing in the big expanse of body of water like the sea is just another experience that she wanted to experience as well. And knowing that this will be a competition as well, she will be honing her skills in fishing.

"Are you sure you would just spend your time fishing instead of farming?" The Harvest Goddess asked.

"I have done most of what I can do in farming right now. I might not have a big belly right now but it is already growing and it is getting uncomfortable to crouch for long periods which is why I am grateful for the help of the Feys while I am pregnant."

"No problem, Boss! We are getting paid for this labor quite well so it is only normal for us to also do it with our all as well!" the Feys shouted while they were working. Elaina didn’t know who said those words but she just knew that they spoke about her.

"Huh...well I don’t see the problem then. But why are you more focused on fishing? Shouldn’t you instead focus on your animals then? How about expanding the variety of animals on your farm aside from the Hencluckles? Why not bring some cows or their monster varieties?"

"I would have to build some barn for them to keep them at night which would cost me money which I don’t have right now. It was part of my plan at first but because of the repairs I needed to do, then that would be the most ideal thing. But eh, it happens. I am not focusing on fishing, I am trying to practice so that I can hone my fishing skills and use them once I join in the competition held on the sea. If I am lucky, maybe I can bring you one big fish or two," Elaina grinned, knowing that the Harvest Goddess is a glutton.

"Well, why you didn’t say so? I will not disturb you and go focus on your training then."

After that, Elaina started to practice fishing during breaks or after work for quite some time, and before Elaina knew it, the festival was finally happening. Even when she is still on the farm, Elaina can hear the noises coming from the beach where many people have gathered.

According to Julia, the beach event was massive and she could tell this would be a big party as the stalls were now popping when she compared it to the festivals back in the Luminiera Kingdom, the festivals there failed in comparison to what she had seen on the beach and what she has seen is not yet the final touch as they are still doing the preparation when she peeked there.

Princess Margaux and even Princess Tabatha are proud of this event as well since the royal family even put a pool of their money to make the grand festival happen. Elaina can now tell why many citizens back when she was still the empress praised the Darcero Kingdom’s rulers. With how approachable they are to the common people, even if they are considered as the rulers, they are treated normally, and they are not treated badly.

It was still early so Elaina started to finish her work early in the morning. Since she started to take it easy on her work on the farm, most of the heavy jobs that will be uncomfortable for Elaina to work now due to her pregnancy are now given to the Feys. Elaina still does her work so no complaints are coming from the Feys.

As the sun had fully risen, Elaina started to also prepare. The two girls are also ready to go to the beach. Since Zaza still has some minor injuries left to heal, the big bear remains at home and Shardu is the guard of the farm. She saw Shardu back when her parents intruded on the farm. Still, the Feys were the ones who stopped Shardu from intervening, knowing the dangers that the little creature might experience at the hands of her parents, the murderous priest. The soldiers and Elaina also think that what the Fey did is good as it was also seen that even the Goddess herself was attacked badly as well.

As the girls completed their preparations, the three left the farm and left the guarding task to Shardu and Zaza as they headed to the beach.

Even when Elaina and the two girls have yet to enter the main venue of the festival, the festive atmosphere is something that Elaina was quite pleased to see.

Just like what the poster that invites people said, the beach will be a crowded place for the event. The beach is big and wide which allows the ones who are managing the event on the beach to go wild as well. And seeing it firsthand, Elaina started to feel an itch in a certain part of her personality that wanted to do it.

"This is huge..." Elaina couldn’t help herself.

Before she became a farmer, she was an empress. While she is an empress, she handles multiple businesses that allow her to grow these businesses into big things that became influential and form something even other merchants can say they are envious of the success. And all of those won’t be succeeding in the hostile environment which is business if not for her management.

Elaina does hate her parents but there seems to be one thing that is flowing in her veins that came from the blood of her parents and that is the ability to manage business. She already has plans in the future to build a business with the central product related to the products produced on farms. She plans to start this once the farm starts to show profits and outcomes that benefit her but it is in the far future.

But seeing this opportunity, Elaina started to get some ideas in her mind that wanted to escape and start to form a little business while the festival was happening. It was a short-term business that only opened whenever the big thing event on the beach was happening but Elaina was pretty sure that whatever she was currently planning in mind, if she made it real, it will become a blockbuster hit.

Usually, Elaina wanted to take part and make her fantasy real, however, there is one thing that made Elaina stop this plan from making it real... and that is money and enough time.

Although it is minor, Elaina is a careful businesswoman. No one can start a business without a capital. For the business to thrive, they needed capital that would then be converted into a product which will become the profit which will then be converted again for more products over and over and over. There is no business that ever starts without capital whether it is around money or labor. The sad thing is that the business that Elaina is thinking needed not the latter but the former.

But Elaina is not worried. Seeing the scale of this festival, Elaina finally got a good grasp of the situation and a good grasp on what she could potentially use to profit for the next year. If Elaina experiences first hand the festival firsthand, she can use this knowledge to boost her future customers’ engagement in her future store as well.

"Slowly but surely, I will make that business come true," Elaina muttered to herself.

Julia waved at Elaina who was still standing not too far from them.

"Sis! Come here! Let’s put down our things in the reserved spot we have gotten earlier! Let’s enjoy the beach!"

Elaina smiled. It may not be this year, but there is nothing wrong with enjoying something fun for once.
