Chapter 354: Selling Meds

Chapter 354: Selling Meds

Duke Darcy Blackwing appears before Elaina inside the dungeon’s labyrinth entrance along with a few adventurers who are well equipped and seems to be ready for an expedition.

"Duke Darcy? What brings you here? And yes, it has been a while since we last met. I think the last time we last met was during the aftermath of the Eternal Winter incident?"

"Yeah, I have gotten so busy that visiting even after the invitations you sent me last time was hard to answer due to various task I have to finish and with the aftermath of the Eternal Winter, I have to fill up a lot of stuff just so we can avoid similar things from happening in the future."

Elaina nodded then looked at the people behind Duke Darcy. "What’s with these guys? They are fully equipped, does that mean you guys are going to an expedition?"

"Yes. Since we received reports that you have defeated the first layer boss of the labyrinth and the labyrinth’s danger levels have lowered significantly after doing so, clearing the labyrinth’s bosses every strata might be the best option to lower the danger level and to also ensure that monsters won’t come flowing out of the labyrinth. Even with the barrier remade, that doesn’t mean one can keep ignoring the enemies. The first strata boss might be enough to keep out the danger for a bit, but that doesn’t mean the monsters on the second strata might be different. So I gathered my elite companions to help with the attack and clear out the second strata boss if possible. And if possible, we will also push to the third strata and try our luck there as well. If we can’t do it, we will retreat as soon as we can."

Elaina nodded in response. She agrees on his sentiment on dealing with the problem as soon as they can before disaster strikes. After all, does dealing just the first boss of the first strata enough? Probably not. And it seems that the labyrinth was designed for that purpose. There were even a teleporter to move straight to the first floor boss which means that this is designed to easily return to which last boss was defeated before another appears again. And if not for this design, there was no point in going in and out of the labyrinth if one needs extensive time to even walk towards the danger they were looking for.

"Are you guys leaving immediately?" Elaina asked.

"No. We will still make final preparations before we dive in. We will have to get all of our preparations done as much as we can and ensure that we will not be in full shortage of healing items while we are trying to push for the third strata."

Hearing that, Elaina grinned. It seems that bringing the medicines with her whenever she go to the labyrinth dungeon isn’t that stupid and is indeed the right thing to do at the moment. "If that is the case, can I sell my wares? You can say that together with Julia and her friend, we managed to create a few high quality medicines that you lot can use later on during the push for the second and third strata. More medicines means more chances to survive the onslaught, yes?"

Duke Darcy nodded and thanked Elaina before discussing it with his members.

"Duke Darcy, I am in favor of buying medicines from her. I heard many rumors that the medicine they sell in the market are considered top notch. The only problem is that it is always running out in the market due to the high demand and yet low supply causing such medicines to be pretty rare to find. If she is the one who has access to those medicines, she might have those with her and we can buy those medicines in raw price without the price increase that the market put on their medicine." the one wearing a full plate armor and a greatsword said.

"I see now. So that is also the rumored farmer as well. She didn’t look strong at your first look but I guess looks can be deceiving I guess."

"Then everyone agrees we will purchase the medicine from her?"

Everyone nodded in agreement and turn to Elaina who readies her wares. Using a big cloth she prepared in advance, she put down all the medicines present on the top of it to ensure that they will not be perceived by anyone as dirty. She made sure everything is clean and nice before she display things.

There are various medicines she have brought with her, a few grasses, some of the fruit of the EX-2 that is known for its bitterness yet effectiveness, making it a good medicine. And she couldn’t forget the usual bottled potions and mana potions that Julia created. She have these in stock most of the time to see if it can be good to sell these medicines while someone wanted to head into the labyrinth and raid the place.

"Sorry that there’s not much variety but pick whatever you guys wanted. They are all medicines and they are nice to have to ensure no one will be dying in these random floors."

The group started picking out the potion and inspected it and the healer who is tasked at keeping track on their supply medicine had his eyes went wide. "This is it! Great we found one of greatest drink to ever exist by far!"

He then picked up the medicines one by one. A few also picked out some mana potions as well but only a few of them since not all of their group can use magic and would benefit on drinking mana potions to recover their resource to use magic.

Then, one of their group, the timid girl found the black seeds placed inside the little bottles that Elaina used to bottle them up.

"What is this?" she asked Elaina.

"I still have no official name to that crop just yet, I call it the EX-2 but there is a chance that this name will be changed in the future."

"What does this do though? I don’t smell anything from it," She asked.

"Based from my testing, it can heal up internal wounds like bleeding, and can also cure exhaustion and a few status ailments. Not sure how many ailments it can help heal but the most prominent thing I know is that it can cure petrification and bleeding. Don’t know much about the other ailments as I haven’t tested them. You are welcome to try it out of course. Here is a sample bottle," Elaina answered while she gave out a small bottle of the EX-2 fruits inside the bottle.

"Be aware as well that this seeds will be very bitter that you guys will snap out of it immediately once you swallow one."

"Then don’t mind if we take this free one and buy one bottle as well. Is that fine?" she asked.

"No, no. Don’t worry. You can buy it just fine. I am just warning you that the only types I know that can be cured by the medicine EX-2 is just bleeding and fatigue for the time being but you know that there might be some chance that will not be the main case."

After that, the group is done with the purchase. The only potion that did not go sold out is the EX-2 fruit but Elaina didn’t mind. Since one customer has it already, if someone wants to use it for later purposes, they can take it and use it for themselves.

"Miss Elaina, thanks for the medicine supply. We definitely needed that and thanks to the supply you bought with you, it allowed us to stock up more and would have enough supply for the next operation. We appreciate you for selling them to us."

"It’s fine. And besides, if you guys are going to push through to the second and possibly the third strata, then having more medicine is not a necessity. You can just keep relying with your healer’s ability to heal your wounds. Sooner or later, they will collapse from exhaustion if they keep on healing the others. Having some potions to alleviate the work and stress from doing so would be much more ideal."

"Good point. Looks like the rumors about you being an expert in dungeon diving and labyrinth expedition weren’t just mere rumors."

Elaina was surprised to hear that but she didn’t bother to ask what those rumors are all about. As long as they are not too exaggerated, she thinks it is fine and it should be enough to motivate the others and might take advantage of it to improve themselves and use her as a way to improve themselves.

"Alright, we will be going to begin our expedition. Hope us some good luck on this one."

"I will pray that you lot will return alive without any casualties. Take care out there you guys, don’t be too reckless."

After saying goodbye to the group, Duke Darcy and his team steps into the teleporter. From the looks of it, they already defeated the first boss, allowing them access to the first teleporter which would also allow them to spawn at the next path to the next floor. She is not sure about them, but she hoped things will go for the best. With her medicines sold to them, she hopes the effectiveness is enough to aid them from the biggest predicaments they might face.
