Chapter 323: First Strata

As a result of Elaina giving the paper to the receptionist, she immediately got the Labyrinth Permit faster than she expected. She expected it to be a paper but it was actually a badge that could be worn by the adventurer. Instead of wearing it, she decided to put it in her deep pocket instead. That way, she won’t lose it especially since she likes to move a lot. Thankfully for her, the permit can be issued again in case it is lost and the permit itself is a permanent thing and will not expire, meaning, she didn’t need to renew it again unless it is lost.

Since she got the permit, Elaina is now allowed to enter the labyrinth and proceed to check the place out. And since she also got the permit, all the quests that the gods were asking are now in effect. She knows that it is annoying but at least these gods do have some rewards in store for her if she manages to deal with and complete it. Who would say no to rewards that come from the gods themselves?

With how most adventurers are not going to explore the labyrinth after the incident, Elaina will have to dive alone which also means she needed to prepare a lot of items to ensure her survival down the labyrinth. And she needed lots of potions. LOTS AND LOTS of potions.

"Seriously, Sis. I don’t know if you are just adventurous or just that bored. I thought farm work is already taking up your time...guess you still have more things to spare in your schedule..." Julia sighed as she packed the potions into the bag for Elaina.

"Eh, you can say it is still more of farmwork. It’s just that I will have to fight enemies just to ensure the farm remains safe."

Julia shakes her head. "This is the first time I have seen a farmer who is so engaged in fighting monsters than growing crops. Ah, whatever. Thinking this much will only make me hurt my head more."

"It would have been great if I can also join...but being still underage...I still can’t get an adventurer’s permit," Princess Margaux sighed.

"It’s alright, Princess. Considering that you are about to enter adulthood and you will be having your debut soon, I don’t think you will need to wait any longer!" Elaina consoled the princess.

"Don’t console her, Sis. Just because you like fighting doesn’t mean you have to influence others," Julia scolded Elaina.

"What’s wrong with becoming an adventurer? Back in the day, many young children would dream of becoming adventurers just to fight monsters and protect the villages from any attacking monsters. Considering that is still a profession even today, even a princess like her can still do well!" the Witch expressed her thoughts.

"I didn’t say it is bad, but I just wanted the Princess to at least take her time practicing by herself before dealing with monsters. She shouldn’t take the same spartan training that Sis undertook back when she was young."

After Julia finished packing the potions, she handed the dimensional storage bag to Elaina.

"Since you are entering the labyrinth, how about checking if there are good items you can bring back? You can say that is the only payment I seek from all of those potions I packed you," Julia said as she piled the crates that once contained the potions that were now inside the bag that Elaina was holding.

"Sure! But don’t expect too much and don’t be disappointed if I don’t bring anything at all."

After that, Elaina went to her twins and kissed both of them on their foreheads.

"I might be back late in the afternoon or maybe early morning if the labyrinth takes time to explore. Don’t wait for me for dinner, I will eat in the dungeon."

"You packed what you needed?" Julia asked.

"Of course! Way ahead of you already!" Elaina said.

"Weapons?"

"Got my main weapon here. I have the others in the dimensional bag while I have a dagger on my back."

"Good. Be careful out there, you hear me? Make sure to bring down all those enemies and come back alive."

Elaina grinned. "Of course. I still have my babies waiting for me and a farm to take care of. Can’t just skip out a day’s worth of farming."

After saying that, Elaina heads out, ready to enter the dungeon. Although this will not be her first rodeo in fighting in a dungeon, this will be the first time she will be fighting on a labyrinth where guides will not be useful.

Entering the same place, the guards already knew Elaina and how she slayed the boss that appeared last time. Seeing her again with various tools in her arsenal, they already have an idea on what she is here.

"Miss farmer, are you here to check out the labyrinth yourself?" the guard who stopped Elaina before asked. She already have seen Elaina’s skills so he is no longer doubting Elaina’s ability to fight.

"Yes. I needed to see why the boss managed to appear and break the barrier. Checking the place out and seeing for myself should allow me to measure the danger level of the monsters and to see how strong of a barrier should I be generating."

"Well, I can let you go inside...as long as you have the permit. I know you are strong but rules are rules and we will get chewed out if we just ignore it," the guard scratches his head.

"Don’t worry, I do have it. Here," Elaina then pulls out the permit to the guard. The guard made sure to check and verify it with his magic before he handed it back to Elaina.

"Please be safe down there, Miss Farmer."

Elaina nodded and headed to the labyrinth’s stairs.

The labyrinth stairs looked newly furnished even though it has been damaged a lot last time. It seems that everything in the labyrinth repairs itself over and doesn’t need any sort of intervention from humans.

As she descends, the Almanac appeared before her and just like how the forest is being mapped everytime she goes there, the labyrinth’s map appears on the almanac.

"This is also mapped out?" Elaina frowned.

"[It’s randomly generated map based on the map’s layout. I made a quick scan everytime you descend on the labyrinth. It’s my way of making sure you don’t get lost]" the God of Farming said proudly.

"Thanks. This should help get rid of the need to map the place out every time.

Elaina steps into the labyrinth, this time, entering the beginning area of the labyrinth, the First Strata.
