Chapter 215: Back To The Mines [I]
The newly added bonus from the mastery skill was amazing and even though she expected the buffs to appear, those minor buffs that got added permanently will now take effect, whether by chance or automatically.
Among the buffs she received are the two buffs that improve the chances of receiving a medium-quality vegetable or fruit once harvested without the reliance on fertilizer or any kind of tool that enhances the quality of the product. Elaina indeed harvests crops before that have not been meddled with fertilizers and most of them are of normal quality and nothing special. Basic fertilizers give the Medium to Good Quality vegetables and they fetch high prices in the market.
Although it is only by chance, getting crops of medium quality without the need for fertilizer will be something that she will be happy to have. This might take effect later on on the crops she planted back in the dungeon during harvest time since she didn’t give any fertilizers to them so that she can determine how good the soil of the field there is compared to the soil of her farm.
The second one is the best one so far and although it has little chance of triggering, especially during the end-season harvest where everything must be harvested or cleared out before the next season rolls in, this buff has a lot of probability to activate at least once.
As for the two buffs that increase her stamina and decrease the usage of stamina from using tools, although minor ones are also pretty good because she has many helpers, it is not too big of a deal. If she didn’t have helpers and no other tools to help with the work, then this would be a very big blessing for her.
As for her next plan, because the field will start to expand in the future, she will have to start making a few more sprinklers as watering all plants will become much more of a hassle, especially without the help of the Feys, it will be hard for her to water the plants plus check the plants whether they have troubles or not. The blueprint is still present and the nearby quarry and mine still have the ores she needed.
Then, Elaina remembered something.
"Hey, God of Farming. I know you don’t handle defenses and stuff, but this is still related to farming. How do I even defend the crops being planted on the four-season field while I am away? You know that the place is public and people will start to come and go as they please. Having something to defend the crops before they are being thrashed around by moron adventurers would be the most ideal."
The God of Farming didn’t respond for a bit. However, he eventually did answer it. "[Understandable. Go check the Ledger. I added something that might help out. It isn’t a surefire defensive thing, but it should at least make a few of them stay away from the field. It is on the Blueprint tab as I have no time to build it. I just randomly yanked out a blueprint from the God of Inventions and Machinery when he said that I could take something for defending the field from trespassers. Don’t blame me if it is bad or not.]"
Elaina stood up from her bed and decided to check what the God of Farming decided to add. Even if it is bad, at least it will help ward off a few troublemakers. The last thing she wanted to happen was the destruction of her crops.
The ledger book remained inactive for quite a while but it started to move after Elaina approached it, signifying that it was active once again.
"I should have plenty of FP as I have not used them for quite a while," Elaina mumbled to herself.
And she is correct. She has not used it for quite some time. The recent seeds that she purchased from the Ledger are what Elaina purchased not too long ago when she got a lot of FP from achieving something. Most of the seeds she got are random since the ledger also has an option of buying mixed bags for a cheaper cost in exchange for uncertain seed types mixed inside but all in season.
And since she bought all four mixed bags for each season, she got a cheap bundle in exchange and would buy it in the future.
Checking through the FP balance, she realized that she racked up over 17000 FP. Seeing the five digits indicating the FP balance, Elaina nodded in satisfaction. After all, with how little the Daily Missions give, netting at least this much is something that is expected. Elaina also thinks that she has done a few of the weekly missions as well which is why the numbers racked up this much. There is no way she would reach that number by just doing dailies, she would realistically have at least around 5000-7000 FP especially if she didn’t buy since the very beginning.
She quickly skimmed through the ledger’s Blueprints section and checked every single blueprint available for purchase and there were two of them. One is the barrier-type gadget that can be deployed on the ground and allowed it to cover the entirety of the area and quickly stop anyone from entering. It can be activated and deactivated by the owner using a remote. The only problem with this is that it doesn’t last long. If someone is persistent enough, these gadgets are destroyed.
As for the second one, it is in the form of a scarecrow. However, instead of shooing away the crows, it will fight off anyone who tries to intrude on the fields without permission using its trusty gun called Shotgun rifle. And once again, the owner is the only one who can deactivate it using a remote as well. But compared to the barrier, this one will be troublesome to destroy as this one is much more dangerous.
Because of this, the choice is obvious and Elaina chooses the barrier. Although the scarecrow is tempting, she is not trying to kill anyone who approaches, only those who try to intrude or destroy the plot as a result of their actions.
The blueprint only costs 500 FP. Pretty cheap compared to the other blueprint which costs 1000 FP. And while she was at it, Elaina also purchased the upgraded version of her sprinklers. Now that is what she called an upgrade.
And just like that, the two products appeared on her doorstep and Elaina took them out. She returned to her room and checked both of them to see what materials would be needed.
This time around, the sprinkler is the upgraded version and spread farther than the regular sprinkler, and is now made with silver ingot. As for the barrier, they only needed her to get an aquamarine and silver ingot to craft. In short, she needed to hunt the mines for some silver and process it into silver.
She has a plan for tomorrow. She will have to water the plants in the dungeon first but after that, she will be mining for some silver in the quarry and if there’s none, she will head deeper into the mines and get some silver to use.
"Gotta sleep early tonight. Might as well hope there would be silver and an aquamarine node out there for me to take."
After mumbling for a bit, Elaina drifts to dreamland.

The next day, Elaina woke up early like usual. Her babies also woke up but didn’t cry and were just observing the surroundings. She gave them milk like usual, played with them, and hugged them. She wanted to take a bath with them but during this weather? Not a chance, she just had to wipe them with a warm wet towel though to keep them clean. It will be like this until winter is over.
Julia also woke up early with Princess Margaux also waking up early and the three worked together to make their breakfast. After breakfast, Elaina kissed her babies goodbye and let Julia guard them as she stayed at home cooped up on the sofa and reading a few books while cloaking herself with the thick blanket from her room.
The weather outside is sunny, but the snow is still piled up. She was thankful it wasn’t that cold compared to yesterday and she was also happy that the snowfall didn’t occur that day.
She quickly headed to the dungeon and watered the plants. As usual, the guards didn’t stop her from entering so she managed to do her job much more efficiently and faster than before.
With watering the crops done, Elaina returned home and dropped the watering can at home before heading out again to go to the smithy and buy a pickaxe. If she wanted to get the mining started, a pickaxe would help a lot.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to trouble herself from waiting for a pickaxe. A lot of the pickaxes are currently for sale and she just bought one for herself. With a pickaxe in hand, Elaina grinned. It’s time to grind some rock and stone.
