Chapter 177: The Cure for Petrification

Chapter 177: The Cure for Petrification

"What do you mean? How can that even help?" Elaina frowned but still proceeded to reach the table and grab half part of the diamond fruit.

"[I don’t know if it was that fruit, but I had an idea last time to create a fruit that is capable of restoring the body from any status-inflicted ailments such as curses, paralysis, and some worse things like necrosis. Since I think those were the main cases, petrification might disappear as well if you use that to her.]"

Elaina looked at Princess Tabatha’s progressing petrification. It is getting worse every second and only a few parts of her body are not yet petrified.

"But her mouth is already petrified, how in the world will I be able to give her the food anyway?" Elaina asked.

"[Just wipe a bit on her mouth and the petrification around her mouth should disappear. That is the time you will feed her small amounts of it and see how it goes.]"

Elaina then used her finger to scrape a little bit of the cream of the diamond fruit and wipe it around Princess Tabatha’s lips like it was some sort of facial cream. She made sure to use as little as possible because there was a chance that the cream would need to be applied to her whole body and used to remove it by being a normal cream to the skin. It won’t be enough to remove all of her petrified parts and return them to normal as a result.

But then, something happened. She didn’t expect it but the petrified lips of Princess Tabatha were soon broken and her lips returned to normal. She started to gasp for breath after a while. Seeing this happen, Elaina didn’t waste more time and scooped another into her fingers and put it straight to Princess Tabatha’s mouth.

Because Elaina did it so fast, Princess Tabatha was startled. She also couldn’t see so any sort of quick action would startle her quite a lot and what Elaina did is surprising. However, the cream immediately fell inside Princess Tabatha’s mouth and she swallowed most of it which then Elaina removed her fingers from the Princess.

"Sis? What did you just do?" Julia asked, perplexed by Elaina’s actions and why she stuck her fingers to Princess Tabatha’s hands. Then, her eyes landed on the fruit that Elaina was holding.

Before she could ask, they all heard several cracks loud enough for everyone to hear.

"What? What is happening with my sister?!" Princess Margaux started to get worried seeing huge cracks on her sister’s petrified body.

Soon, the cracks became bigger and bigger. It didn’t take long enough for the cracks to break and explode, which then caused Princess Tabatha to open her eyes. Elaina was relieved after that. The explosion after the cracks did not kill Princess Tabatha, instead, the petrification that was currently on her body disappeared and all the rock fragments around her body were dispelled and destroyed after the little explosion.

"Sister!" As soon as Princess Tabatha’s petrification was removed, Princess Margaux embraced Princess Tabatha who was still confused and unsure of what was happening.

Princess Tabatha was shocked and looked around for a bit before her eyes landed on the three girls waiting for her.

"Margaux? Miss Julia and...Master? What is going on? I remembered I was running away... and then..."

That’s when she realized that her petrification was gone and she started to hold her body and tried to locate the parts that should have been petrified.

"I was petrified for sure...how..." she then looked at the three girls.

"You don’t need to worry, rest up for a bit before we talk to you. Your body should still be stressed a bit after that ordeal. Don’t stress it up," Elaina suggested.

"Yeah...you are right... Ugh. My body sores like I have been beaten black and blue."

"Princess Margaux, please help your sister for a bit and escort her to a vacant room to rest. I have something to talk to Sis for a few minutes," Julia said as she glanced at Elaina for a bit.

"Yeah. The sofa is too small for you, can you stand, Sis?" Princess Margaux asked.

"Don’t worry, despite my sore body, I can still walk fine. Don’t worry, help me up and support me on the way, I still feel weak on my knees."

Princess Margaux then escorted Princess Tabatha upstairs while Julia decided to talk to Elaina.

"Sis. What did you just do? As much as we know, Petrification is a hard thing to reverse due to how devastating and fatal it is! Many even said that those who are petrified are already doomed to die. So how did that happen?!"

Elaina scratches her head. She doesn’t know how to respond to this question because what Julia said is true. There is no true cure for Petrification. Only those who suffered a slow petrification can still be saved but not fully like how Princess Tabatha did. The petrified parts will remain petrified and the rest that did not get petrified will be the ones that will remain. It was hard but that is mostly the main case of the things related to Petrification but with the fruit that is currently on her hands, not only will this thing change. The matter about Petrification being a lethal thing that will guarantee someone’s death will no longer be the same.

"[Elaina, don’t be afraid of telling her the fruit. Remember, the fruit will someday need to be spread out to the public. Letting it a secret anyway will not be a big benefit in the long run for you and for the fruit’s publicity.]" the God of Farming said.

"But is it alright?"

"[You trust that girl, don’t you? Then trust her fully in this secret that should not be a secret.]"

The words that the God of Farming posted hit a chord on Elaina. She indeed trusts Elaina so why can’t she trust her about it? She shook her head. Julia is someone she can trust. There is no need to hide things from her.

"Julia, don’t spread it around just yet. But I grew a fruit last summer that I just tried today. I discovered that it has some purification effects that can cure things that are naturally hard to cure. So when I saw Princess Tabatha have that petrification, I decided to see if this one would work somehow. And you have seen the next thing that happened after that.

"Wait, but I didn’t see these before on the field?" Julia asked Elaina for the fruit which the latter handed over to the former.

"It’s one of the plants that was destroyed during the last scuffle with Alfred. Remember that a lot of plants were destroyed during that time? This and a few other unknown plants were also planted but it got destroyed in the process, preventing it from growing. But to my surprise, the Feys managed to grow this one and salvage it, allowing it to grow and bear fruits until summer ended. When the harvesting time happened, the Feys gave me the fruits. I still have two on the fridge if you want to see the full fruit without it being sliced."

"This fruit...I have never seen this fruit before..." Julia keeps on observing the fruit but she is not sure how to react to it.

"Because that fruit has not existed beyond that. It was one of the seeds that I got from the blessings that I received from the God of Farming. Remember when I said that the God of Farming gave me the blessings that will help the farm? One of them is getting random seeds each season. And last summer, this seed was one of them."

"Then...only you can grow this? And it only grows during summer?"

Elaina nodded.

"Sis... this fruit will revolutionize all cures that can help cure out things that are hard or impossible to cure. The world of magic and alchemy will never be the same if this goes public," Julia had a serious look on her face.

Elaina nodded. "Well, I didn’t even know it could cure petrification so you can say that it is a new function I didn’t expect. Don’t expect me to know a lot about this fruit and explain to you everything. I just test-tasted it today and just happened to know the effects somehow."

"Don’t worry about this, Sis. I will keep this a secret for now. The fact we have a limited supply and it only grows during summer makes it a limited fruit. Until the time we can cultivate and let it spread out, we should keep this quiet for now," Julia suggested.

"You want to hide it?" Elaina asked.

"Indeed, Sis. Don’t underestimate the people who will rush to ask you things about this fruit. It might be the best cure for dangerous ailments, but that doesn’t help much if you don’t know the full extent of this fruit to its fullest capabilities. I suggest we study this until then."
