Chapter 111: Arc 1 End

Currently, Darcero Kingdom is experiencing peace and fun due to the beach opening for the summer. Elaina is also currently living her normal life as well as a farmer. Things couldn’t get any better.

On the other hand, the chaos currently happening in the Luminiera Kingdom has already ascended to the point that the people have started to riot. Due to the ban on Darcero Kingdom’s goods, trade, and travel, the resources that the Luminiera Kingdom receives from the kingdom have caused the wrath of many citizens.

And with the current leader of the marketplace of Luminiera Kingdom being the main cause of the big problem that they are facing the situation just escalated a lot more than it should have and many businesses suffered as a result. Not all businesses suffered but they did get hit by the problem and they agree that it is a loss of profit indeed.

The Zangrande Trading Group is already doing its best to mitigate and solve the current crisis while also minimizing the damage that is affected by the problem.

But because of this incident, it gave rise to many things that have been hidden in Luminiera Kingdom or just plainly buried or forgotten deep under has been showing more and more, which is then making the main problem getting progressively worse in the eyes of the many.

The solution? Is not something that they currently have but they do have a temporary solution that would allow the market to sustain itself for a year. The market decided that they would just temporarily create a neutral Trading group run by everyone who knows their stuff in business that would handle the trades that should have been handled by Zangrande Trading Group and handle the distribution of goods and items to be sold, allowing for proper circulation. It is a temporary solution until things stabilize once more and although it can end in a bad way, they needed something like this to ensure they will not just feel the same as before.

It isn’t a brilliant solution but it is enough for the problem to be temporarily solved unless something else happens by then, then they will likely continue to remain like this for quite some time until the Zangrande group recovers and stabilizes again or if the ban is finally lifted. Until then, the temporary group will deal with everything.

While the situation in the market has partially been restored, the populace has not been quelled just yet and is protesting for the ban in the Darcero Kingdom to be lifted. The one who has been pestered the most in this situation is none other than the Emperor himself as he is the only one who can allow this ban from being lifted prematurely from its original duration of a single year.

Knowing this matter, the populace is now pestering the emperor to have a negotiation with the royalty of Darcero Kingdom and ask for the ban to be lifted and stop the rule of prohibiting anyone from the Luminiera Kingdom from entering the borders of Darcero Kingdom. Many people thought that this matter would be easy for the Emperor as he was friends with the royals of the Darcero Kingdom but that was not the main case at all since even before the riots began, the Emperor was already ahead of them from requesting to lift the ban from happening to the people of Luminiera Kingdom.

But things are not so easy on the emperor’s side as well. Due to this little scandal involving Zangrande Trading Group, the chaos that happened with the church, and there are various things that he has to address and even take care of before he can do the peace talks. Not only that but the lack of response from the other camp is not a good sign either of acceptance of the invitation.

"Selena, any news regarding the letter I sent to the Darcero Kingdom regarding the peace talks?" Alfred asked as he continued to sign papers on the table without even looking at his secretary and mistress, Selena.

"No replies so far, Your Majesty. It was like they were purposely avoiding giving an audience to us no matter how hard we try," Selena answered.

"I get that they are doing this to lessen the dangers but this is a bit of discrimination to us. They are already leaving us out while the other kingdoms and other countries have no such ban. It would have been fine if it was also including the other places as well but leaving us out like this is something that even I do not agree with."

Alfred is already stressed out with all of the stuff happening around and the stacking trouble is already making rounds and it is making more and more stress to him.

Selena approached him and hugged him from behind. "You can rest for a while, Your Majesty. All of this stress that is happening is something that you shouldn’t even be having any problems with and besides, shouldn’t you blame my parents and the church for their rash actions that resulted in this situation?"

Alfred held Selena’s smooth hands. He can’t help but compare both Elaina’s hands and Selena’s hands together. Despite just holding the hands of Selena a few times, he can feel more attracted to her smooth skin than what he can feel on his fingertips and skin whenever he holds the hands of Elaina. Her hands felt like the hands of a mercenary, they were full of signs of pressure and rough patches that were caused by handling different things.

"But I still have work to do, Selena. And the people protesting-" Before he could even say anything, Selena immediately kissed him, stopping him from whatever he was about to say to her as he slowly reciprocated the kiss.

"Your voice said no, but your mind and even body say yes," Selena smiled flirtatiously at Alfred and the latter sighed.

"Ah screw this work, you can’t blame me if we have to do double the work after this, alright?" Alfred then proceeded to carry Selena who started to squeal in delight and put her into bed.

"Oh my, I didn’t know you were this thirsty," Selena bites her lips as she slowly beckons Alfred.

"Haha, don’t blame me if I became rough," Alfred grinned as he started to disrobe himself.

"Oho, let’s see if you can satisfy me well, cowboy."

As the two started to begin their ritual, their two bodies became one, with Alfred deciding that everything was just fine.

The dungeon near the forest where Elaina and her companions usually hunt and forage different stuff was a bit inactive for a few days after the defeat of all the Kobolds. Although the adventurers all did that clearing operation and had all the Kobolds detected, they failed to even investigate the dungeon itself.

Although no one knows the situation happening in the dungeon, it seems that things are not going to calm down for quite some time just yet. As the lights from the entrance pulsate, a few movements can be heard slowly approaching towards the outside world.

It’s been two days since the disappearance of her daughter. Although she found a few traces here and there, they all ended up becoming dead leads, leading her nowhere at all. She is already too worried about what happened to her child. Ever since she started to search for her daughter, her desire to find her child grows. Today, it seems things are about to change.

Two human women appeared to swim from the nearby beach straight to the isolated cove. Seeing that they were humans, she immediately went to hiding to ensure that these new people currently present in the area would not see her. She wouldn’t want to know that things are not that easy in the first place.

"Wow, didn’t think there was a hidden cove in here."

"Yeah. And I see a few traces here that there’s recently been someone in here."

"Recently? Like total recent? Like...now?"

"Not too sure. The signs here are a combination of a few days-old traces and a few hours-old traces."

"Very recent then? Perhaps they are around?"

"Doubt it, Princess. The moment we entered this place, we intruded on someone’s area. They would most likely be in hiding by now so I don’t think it is such a bother. Anyway, let us continue to investigate. With that little information we have, maybe we will have a chance to find them."

After that, the two humans started to search around the place. But after a few minutes of checking from place to place, the two returned to their spot earlier to talk about what they saw.

"There is indeed a chance but I am not sure if the one camping in here is indeed someone who owns the baby. But I can see some of the skidmarks that might be potentially from the baby back then."

"Then..."

"Nope, not yet. But there is indeed a possibility. However, this place has little information to get us to the actual location of the parents of the little girl. We should hurry up soon."

After the two left, the mother regained her conviction to start once again. Now that she has some idea of where her daughter is, she decides that it is time to try and blend over with the humans and find her daughter. And based on their words, it seems those two somehow knew of her baby. In short, they might be the ones who can help trace the baby she lost that day.

"Wait for me, my daughter. I am coming."
