"What's going on, Elder Yu? This is clearly more than just a spirit beast outbreak," Luo Yuanshan asked with tightly furrowed brows, and everyone instantly turned their attention to Elder Yu upon hearing this.

"Don't go making wild guesses, everyone. Like I said earlier, some spirit beasts managed to break loose, and it's going to take some time to capture them, so please wait here for now," Elder Yu said in a serious manner.

"Elder Yu, if something's happened, then please be truthful to us, and perhaps we can help out," Zhou Xianyang said

"Nonsense! Since when has our Nine Origins Temple ever required external assistance!" Elder Yu snapped in an indignant manner.

"My apologies, that was presumptuous of me. Seeing as the Bodhi Tokens have already been presented, there's no point for us to stay here, so why don't we all return to our sects so that we don't get in your way?" Zhou Xianyang proposed.

As soon as his voice trailed off, the entire Nine Origins Pavilion was rocked violently once again. This tremor was even stronger than the previous one, and visible cracks had begun to appear on the wooden pillars in the palace. If it weren't for the fortifying restrictions that were in place, the entire building would've most likely already collapsed.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's brows furrowed slightly in displeasure upon seeing this, and he rose to his feet as he asked, "What's going on with your Nine Origins Temple? How is it taking this long to subdue a few spirit beasts?"

Elder Yu didn't dare to deceive a immortal envoy of the Heavenly Court, and after a brief hesitation, he cupped his fist in a salute as he answered truthfully, "After the spirit beasts broke loose, disturbances had begun arising in many other parts of our sect as well, so things have been a little hectic."

"Where is Daoist Master Chun Jun right now?" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian asked.

"He's concerned that the ancestral hall could be impacted by the disturbances, so he's currently stationed there, and he'll be back once everything has settled down," Elder Yu explained.

A sense of unease instantly arose once again, and everyone requested Elder Yu to open the restriction to let them leave.

"Just do as you're told and stay here!" Elder Yu snapped in an authoritative manner, and everyone instantly fell silent again, not daring to speak out any further.

"What is the meaning of this, Elder Yu? These people have received Bodhi Tokens and are entitled to attend the Bodhi Banquet held in our Middle Earth Immortal Region, yet you seem to have no respect for them at all," Immortal Envoy Feng Tian said in a cold voice.

"I meant no disrespect, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian," Elder Yu hurriedly said in an apologetic manner.

Right at this moment, Immortal Lord Heavenly Star suddenly stood up and came to Elder Yu's aid as he said, "With Fellow Daoist Chun Jun personally overseeing everything, there's nothing for us to worry about. Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, I hear that you're an avid go player. Would you care for a game to help take our mind off things?"

Lu Chuanfeng also stood up as he chimed in, "I'm sure Elder Yu meant no disrespect, he must simply be a little flustered from all of the commotion."

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian relented upon hearing this and sat back down, while Immortal Lord Heavenly Star sat down across from him and swept a sleeve through the air to summon a jade go board and a pair of jars that contained black and white go stones.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian initially had no interest in playing, but an intrigued look surfaced in his eyes at the sight of the items on the table, and he opened the jar in front of him, upon which a burst of faint purple light instantly shone out from within.

The go stones in the jar were all giving off a purple glow, making them resemble purple stars in the night sky, and they were also giving off bursts of starpower fluctuations.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's eyes instantly lit up as he hurriedly asked, "Could this be the legendary set of go apprati by the name of Starfall?"

"Indeed, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian. What a sharp pair of eyes you possess. If you can beat me in a game, then you can have this set of go apparati. What do you say?" Immortal Lord Heavenly Star proposed.

"Who am I to turn down such a kind offer?" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian chuckled, and the two of them began playing a game together, leaving everyone else to their own devices.

Huo Yuan took a glance at everyone else, then began discussing what appeared to have been some private matters with Lu Chuanfeng, as evidenced by the soundproofing light barrier that he had conjured up.

With that, the entire palace fell silent again, with the silence punctuated only by the occasional sound of the placed go stones.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian set a glowing stone down onto the board as he looked up at Immortal Lord Heavenly Star with a smile and asked, "Are you intentionally trying to present this set of go apparati to me as a gift? Otherwise, surely there's no way to explain all of these blunders that you've made."

"Not at all, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, I'm simply no match for you. Having said that, a go board is much like an array plate, and the stones that are placed upon it cannot be taken back," Immortal Lord Heavenly Star replied with a smile.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian asked in a puzzled manner.

Immortal Lord Heavenly Star didn't answer the question. Instead, he merely declared, "It's my turn."

He picked up a white stone before setting it down upon the very center of the board, and as soon as the stone was placed, a burst of purple light appeared over the jade go board without any warning.

A burst of incredibly violent starpower then erupted out of the go board, forming violent shockwaves that swept through the air in all directions, destroying all of the surrounding furniture.

Huo Yuan and Lu Chuanfeng hurriedly retreated to the other side of the palace before looking back with alarmed expressions to discover that the table beneath the go board had already been completely pulverized.

The jade go board itself had also vanished, replaced by a glowing, azure go board projection on the ground that was over a hundred feet in size.

The lines on the go board projection had formed numerous threads of white light that were wound around Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's body, locking him firmly into place.

As for the white stones on the go board, they had formed a complex starlight array that was radiating purple starlight while also giving off formidable starpower fluctuations.

Meanwhile, Immortal Lord Heavenly Star was standing directly across from Immortal Lord Envoy with a smile on his face and his palms joined together as if he were praying.

"I need to borrow your head for an important matter, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian."

As soon as voice trailed off, he thrust his palms forward forcefully, and all of the white go stones on the ground immediately lit up before transforming into several dozen miniature starlight dragons before pouncing toward dozens of important acupoints all over Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's body.

All of this had taken place in the blink of an eye, and all Immortal Envoy Feng Tian had a chance to do was reflexively draw upon his own law powers to conjure up a suit of blue water armor around his own body.

An intrigued look appeared on Han Li's face at his gaze fell upon the suit of water armor, which was giving off faint water vapor while rippling incessantly, and despite the fact that it was no thicker than a normal robe, it contained tremendous water-attribute spiritual power that was as vast as an ocean.

"Have you gone insane, Immortal Lord Heavenly Star?" Huo Yuan roared in an incredulous voice as he sprang forward to try and intervene, but it was already too late.

The dozens of miniature starlight dragons plunged into the suit of water armor around Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, upon which they were slowed down significantly, as if they had dove headfirst into a sea of treacle.

With Huo Yuan and Lu Chuanfeng rapidly closing in, a look of disappointment appeared in Immortal Lord Heavenly Star's eyes as he sighed, "You're much more capable than I anticipated. What a pity..."

As soon as his voice trailed off, he abruptly switched to a different hand seal while flying back in retreat.

Immediately thereafter, the dozens of starlight dragons swimming through Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's suit of water armor began to radiate blinding, white light.

Specks of purple starlight could be seen within the white light, and it exploded violently to release a vast torrent of devastating starpower.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian was situated right in the epicenter of the explosion, and he was engulfed by a vortex of white starlight that rapidly proliferated outward in all directions.

The entire surrounding space in a radius of around a thousand feet was torn to shreds by the eruption of starpower, but strangely enough, the starpower vortex refused to spread any further beyond this point.

Instead, it remained enclosed around Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, continuing to ravage the surrounding space.

The top of the vortex had torn straight through the restrictions above to blow a huge hole into the ceiling, and Immortal Lord Heavenly Star flew out of the hole as a streak of light.

Huo Yuan was furious as he took a glance at the swirling, white vortex, then turned to Lu Chuanfeng as he yelled, "Palace Master Lu, you look after Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, I'll go pursue Heavenly Star."

He swept a sleeve through the air as he spoke to summon a purple flying boat that was around a hundred feet in length, and as soon as he leaped onto the boat, all of the spirit patterns on its surface instantly lit up, following which it also vanished in a flash through the hole in the ceiling.

Lu Chuanfeng was about to set off in pursuit of Immortal Lord Heavenly Star, but he could only descend back into the palace upon seeing this.

No one else in the palace had been harmed by the explosion, but they had still been startled, nonetheless, and all of them had retreated to the other side of the palace while staring at the swirling, white vortex in incredulity, unable to believe what they had just witnessed.
