A Mate For The Last Lycan
Chapter 145: ZURI’S IDEA

Chapter 145: ZURI’S IDEA

The scripture said the scar that your mate left for you would appear as a birthmark in your next life. Zuri wanted to quickly learn the lycan’s language, so she could read the scriptures and have more information about the lycan.

"But, you didn’t give me this scar." Zuri stared at her scars. "These are not from you."

Khaos pressed her wrist against his lips, he didn’t say anything about it. But for him, she got the scar because of him. He was the one, who put the silver chain on her wrist.

"But, the mark from you will do, right?" Zuri lit up when she realized this. "You will mark me. When will you mark me?"

"When the time is right." Khaos brushed away her hair from her face. Zuri was clear headed enough to have a discussion. "About what happened..."

The smile on Zuri’s lips disappeared, she looked defensive. "I don’t like him. He threatened me. He said he was going to kill me."

Zuri must have forgotten that she had told Khaos about what happened with Ezra, because she repeated the story again, but this time she was more coherent than the last.

"I don’t want him near me. I don’t like to be threatened. I will do the ritual, but I will do it because I want to help you, not because he threatened me." Zuri had every intention to help Khaos to get the beauty blood.

She hated people, who used her aside from Khaos and she hated her brother, who betrayed her and turned her into a Shell for the beauty blood, but she was willing to continue doing this because she wanted to help Khaos.

His goal was hers too. If he wanted to take revenge for those people, who were involved in the fallen of the old dynasty, she was going to make them her enemies as well.

She might be crazy to be so obsessed with Khaos. The attachment between them must have messed up with her judgment, but she didn’t care. Attachment or not, she wanted him.

"He will not be around you." Khaos brushed his thumb against her lip.

He was going to send Ezra and Caiden back to the Greywolf pack, once Ezra was already fit enough for a long journey. The old man had been making a demand to see Khaos, he couldn’t accept that his son had stripped down from his position as the gamma.

On the other hand, Caiden had been very quiet. He accepted the punishment, while Bryden didn’t say anything when he saw how firm Khaos was with his decision.

the incident with Zuri was not the only reason he was stripped from his position, but also because Ezra had gotten in his head so much. Caiden always sought for Ezra’s approval subconsciously.

Khaos had noticed this for long time, but the incident with Zuri made it clear that the position as the gamma was too much for him when he couldn’t even step out of his father’s shadow.

Khaos told her a brief version of what happened.

"Ezra has recovered, they are going to leave tomorrow." Ezra was getting old, his healing ability had slowed down as well, thus the wound that Zuri inflicted almost killed him.

"Where is Caiden now?" Zuri pushed herself up from Khaos’s body. "I want to see him."

"Do you want to see him?" Khaos raised his brows.

"Don’t send him back to the Greywolf pack, we still need him. I have thought of a way to get the Verity Stamp. We can use him."

Her mind was clear right now and therefore, Zuri needed to carry out with her plan, because if she delayed, she might forget and after she was inflicted with the curses, she didn’t know when she would be this clearheaded again.

Khaos chuckled when he heard that. "How do you want to use him?" His gaze softened when he watched her explaining the detail of his plan.

It was nice to have someone as cunning as you to create a plan and Zuri could be very wicked when she wanted too.

Khaos didn’t want to lose this side of her...

***

Caiden sighed deeply when he walked toward the bench, where Zuri was waiting for him. He didn’t know what to expect, neither he knew what they were going to talk about. He was informed that Zuri wanted to talk to him and the alpha summoned him to come.

He had not yet talked with Khaos for days now and spent his time with his father, who kept protesting and complaining at him with the fact that he lost his title, as if he was not the main contributor for that.

"You look good."

Caiden wanted to kick his ass when the word left his mouth. What kind of greeting was that? It sounded weirdly awful.

Zuri raised her brows and stared at him, for a while, both of them only stared at each other and it became rather awkward.

"What are you doing, standing there? You can sit next to me. I promise, I will not bite you this time."

Somehow, that statement made Caiden laughed and his laughter was infectious, Zuri laughed with him too. Both remembered their last encounter.

"Yeah, thank you for the reassurance," Caiden said, he approached her and sat down next to her with ease. "I am sorry for the last time. I didn’t know what my father said that triggered you. I shouldn’t have gone behind Khaos’s back and disregarded his order."

"You are really suck to follow order." Zuri glanced at him. "I am sorry for almost killing you and put your father in danger."

"No. I gave in at that time, so I will not hurt you."

Zuri rolled her eyes when she heard that ridiculous statement. "Both of us know, if there was someone playing easy here, it was me."

"Well, fine. But, if someone asked, can you agree with me, please?" Caiden grinned from ear to ear.
