Chapter 120: Satire
Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Satire
After a day out running around, Mu Yan was exhausted. She took a shower and went to bed.
She had a dream where someone was pressing down and kissing her, and she tried desperately to avoid it, but couldn’t escape.
She felt like she was about to suffocate, struggling to wake up, but couldn’t.
Until later, the dream seemed to disappear, and she continued sleeping.
When she woke up in the morning, Mu Yan felt her lips were a bit dry. She looked outside; the sun was shining brightly. Summer was approaching, so she decided to apply some lip balm before sleeping at night.
Mu Yan got up, changed clothes, and went downstairs.
Jiang Jingheng was surprisingly still at home. Seeing her come down, he said, "Have breakfast."
"Okay." Mu Yan walked over.
Of course, she felt a bit guilty inside, wondering why it seemed like he was always the one making breakfast.
Jiang Jingheng watched her as she sat across from him and suddenly asked, "Why are your lips so dry?"
Mu Yan instinctively touched her lips, "Maybe the weather’s too hot."
"Hmm." Jiang Jingheng said nothing further, lowering his head to eat breakfast.
Mu Yan looked at his handsome face, her heart stirring slightly. Such a good-looking guy, unfortunately, she could only sleep with him once.
The key was, she didn’t feel much that time.
She bowed her head and continued eating breakfast, not having much appetite as she had just woken up.
Today wasn’t Sunday; Jiang Jingheng had to go to work.
After he left, Mu Yan went to the hospital.
Due to "Micro Era" selling three times more in May than in April, the magazine invited Mu Yan for a photoshoot.
Mu Yan knew that Chief Editor Hao intended to promote her.
At the shoot, Chief Editor Hao looked at Mu Yan, almost holding his face like a fangirl.
He turned to Song Cheng’an beside him and said, "I bet with you that Mu Yan will definitely become famous."
Song Cheng’an almost rolled his eyes at him, "People I groom, how can they not become famous?"
Chief Editor Hao thought about it and agreed.
But he felt that this didn’t fully show Mu Yan’s excellence, so he added, "If it were someone else, she would still rise to fame."
Song Cheng’an remained noncommittal, such things were hard to say.
The entertainment industry is too complicated now; someone as pure as Mu Yan isn’t really suitable—unless they meet him, that is.
After the shoot, Mu Yan went over to exchange pleasantries with Chief Editor Hao.
Chief Editor Hao used almost all the wonderful words to describe Mu Yan.
Mu Yan almost burst into laughter, thinking he might be her die-hard fan.
On the way back, Song Cheng’an said, "Red Dress in Chaotic Times is about to premiere, starting tomorrow you’ll need to participate in promotional activities."
Mu Yan nodded, "I understand."
"You don’t need me to coach you on the official talk, do you?"
Mu Yan shook her head, "No need."
"Okay."
On the day of the promotional activity, Mu Yan appeared in a T-shirt and denim skirt on site.
Many people came to the site today, including Liu Haoming, Zhou Lifen, Director Li, and others.
When Director Li saw Mu Yan, he immediately came over and said, "Long time no see, Mu Yan, how have you been lately?"
Mu Yan smiled slightly, "Not bad. How about you?"
"Busy with filming," Director Li replied with a laugh, and soon he went off to chat with others.
When Zhou Lifen saw Mu Yan, she smirked and walked over, saying, "Mu Yan, what have you been up to lately?"
Mu Yan looked at her, nodded, and said, "Hello, Sister Zhou."
With so many people around, she definitely had to give her face.
"I heard you’ve fallen to shooting some shady online drama, hoping to become famous overnight? As someone who’s been there, Sister Zhou tells you, don’t daydream," Zhou Lifen said with a smile on her face, but disdain in her eyes.
