Chapter 980: Chapter 736 The Beginning of the End Day_1

Of course, this isn’t to say that the people of Freedom Town were incapable, but generally, to establish a city, one needed the approval of the Ten Great Giant Cities. Meng Ting and the others, although they had developed Freedom Town to a force comparable to any other city, still couldn’t officially name it Freedom City.

"How about it, wanna go in and see Meng Ting?" Ada said, revealing a mischievous smile. Back then, their relationship that could only be described as most intimate happened partly because of her prank. Looking at Ada’s strange smile, Su Yu immediately thought of that day’s scene. Despite having become a demi-god, he still felt a blush rise to his cheeks and a flutter in his heart.

No matter how strong Su Yu was, he was after all still a young man, and naturally had certain impulsive aspects. However, this past year of insane cultivation left him no time or energy to think about other things. But now, looking at Freedom Town, he couldn’t help but recall what had happened between him and Meng Ting, and inevitably, he felt something.

As for the conflicts and disputes that had once arisen between himself and Meng Ting, after so much time, Su Yu had naturally let go of them long ago. However, that embarrassing experience of breaking through to a new level still remained unforgettable to Su Yu.

"It seems that even after becoming a god, human emotions and desires still exist," Ada sighed. "What do you say, are you feeling it? Let’s go see Meng Ting."

With a faint smile, Su Yu shook his head and said, "To reminisce is better than to meet. Knowing that she is safe is enough for me." Although he did not enter Freedom Town, Su Yu had already sensed the familiar aura of Meng Ting. He smiled slightly, and his figure vanished, leaving Freedom Town behind.

Though he hadn’t returned to the Black Iron World for over a year, most places hadn’t changed much.

Tezcatlipoca was baffled and said, "Su Yu, you seem very strange. What’s this about reminiscing being better than meeting? Could it be, Su Yu, you have someone you like?"

Su Yu countered, "What about you, Teacher? Do you have a beloved?"

"I... haha..." Tezcatlipoca’s laughter echoed in Su Yu’s mind: "Of course... and many at that. Back in the day, I had many wives. Otherwise, how do you think I fathered three great civilizations?"

Su Yu’s eyes lit up, and he said with some envy, "So they can coexist peacefully? They don’t get jealous of each other?"

"Jealous of what? Their relationship is better than you could imagine. In this regard, I am quite experienced. What, are you thinking of learning a thing or two?" Tezcatlipoca perked up when he talked about this: "If you want to woo the ladies, seeking my advice is definitely right."

Ada snorted lightly, "Pfft, what a load of nonsense. You were sold out by your own descendants, and you’re still here bragging."

Ada’s merciless jab left Tezcatlipoca speechless.

After leaving Freedom Town, Su Yu entered the Demon Beast Mountain Range. He wanted to check on the Jianmu Tree on the one hand, and on the way, look into the state of Skeleton Ice City and those Eskimos sealed at the bottom of the sea.

Su Yu had always had a knot in his heart regarding this Jianmu Tree. He remembered that within its Heart of Jianmu seemed to be sealed a terribly powerful Darkness Vortex. The aura that seeped from this vortex had even frightened Ada. Back then, Su Yu’s strength was lower, but now he was a demi-god. When revisiting this place and once again facing the Jianmu Tree that blotted out the sun, Su Yu was slightly taken aback.

This tree had almost been completely hollowed out, and by the looks of it, its collapse was a matter of days. When Su Yu, with Ada, once more reached the sealed Darkness Vortex at the top of the tree, they were startled to find someone sitting cross-legged, wrapped in a blue robe.

This figure was sitting in a meditative pose, face covered by the blue robe, their true appearance unclear, and without the slightest breath of life, such that even the more powerful Su Yu and the DrIving758:06:08 Ada had not sensed them before entering, unaware that there was an extra person here.

"Who?" Su Yu instinctively felt alarmed and wanted to step forward, suddenly realizing there was an invisible wall before him. He was unable to move any closer to the Darkness Vortex behind. Then, the motionless figure draped in the blue robe began to move slowly. Lifting their head slightly, two beams of light flashed out. Su Yu felt as if lightning had struck him. His face changed dramatically, and he couldn’t help but step back.

"Leave this place," the voice of Tezcatlipoca rang out, tinged with urgency. Su Yu felt a chill in his heart and, without a word, turned and left.

It wasn’t until they were far from the collapsing Jianmu Tree that Su Yu could finally exhale deeply.

"What on earth is going on? How is there another person there... and it seems like they’re guarding that Darkness Vortex? There was no one there before." Su Yu was still unsettled. At the last moment, when the light flashed upon the face of the figure in the blue robe, Su Yu experienced a terrifying feeling, as if he had made a circuit through death’s door. Thus, when Tezcatlipoca said to leave, he did not hesitate for a moment before doing so.

"That should not be human..." Ada pondered and then voiced his speculation, slowly saying, "The power of rules in this world is also becoming more and more chaotic, Su Yu. With your realm, in the past, the power of rules would have quickly intervened and urged you to leave this world sooner, but now, after so long, there hasn’t been the slightest reaction."

Su Yu responded with a hum, saying, "I’ve also felt it. This Black Iron World has indeed become very strange, completely different from before. Teacher, do you know what that blue-robed figure just now... really is?"

Tezcatlipoca spoke slowly, "What I can be certain of is... that thing should not be provoked. However, its appearance should only be to prevent others from disturbing that dark vortex. As long as you do not entertain the notion of attacking the dark vortex’s seal, ’it’ should not trouble you."

"Ada, you’ve already reached the ninth phase of growth, don’t you know what that dark vortex is?" Su Yu inquired.

"In just over ten days... we should know soon. I think that dark vortex is probably related to the end of this epoch," Ada responded.

Because he encountered that mysterious blue-robed figure within the "Heart of Jianmu," Su Yu found himself with some added concerns. Upon arriving at Skeleton Ice City, according to the Ice City Queen, the sealed Eskimos under the sea had been quite quiet recently, with no special circumstances occurring. The Netherworld people showed great excitement for Su Yu’s return, each of them asking when he would lead them to retake the "Netherworld," and reclaim their homeland.

Su Yu, badgered by their questions, had no choice but to promise them, saying that once he had reunited with his family and settled everything here, he would definitely join them in fighting back for the "Netherworld."

Legend has it that the Netherworld was occupied by a fearsome and evil force, forcing the Netherworld gods to bring their people to the Black Iron World in desperation, only to end up in a fierce, outbreaking battle with the original inhabitants, the Eskimos of the ancient Black Iron World, ultimately leading to mutual destruction.

After touring around, Su Yu returned to Black Iron City and realized that he no longer felt much of a sense of belonging or yearning for this world, perhaps because he had been away for over a year and so much had changed.

Back in "Black Iron City," Su Yu spent a few quiet days. When bored, he would chat with Zhang Zhongmou, Jin Fuhua, and others, or give them some guidance. To the present Zhang Zhongmou and others, Su Yu’s strength was like that of a deity.

A few days later, Su Yun, Lei Rui, Cao Xiaoyu, Liu Zheng, and others who had gone out for cultivation finally returned, and they were overjoyed to see Su Yu.

Su Yun, in particular, gave Su Yu a fierce punch upon seeing him, her aura so powerful that it was not intimidated by Su Yu’s current demi-god strength. Stunned, Su Yu suddenly burst into laughter, stretched out his arms, and hugged Su Yun tightly.

This time, Su Yun was the one taken aback.

Ruffling Su Yun’s hair, Su Yu said deeply, "Thank you, girl." Su Yun was the only one among them who still treated him as the old Su Yu, which made Su Yu feel very happy, as if he had returned to the past.

The time span of ten days quickly passed by, the only regret for Su Yu was that the wooden man had disappeared, and even Ada could not sense the wooden man’s presence in this world. The enigma surrounding the wooden man was too great, and no one dared to guess where he had gone now.

During these ten days, Su Yu felt as if he had truly returned to his former life. The Black Warriors were arranged to a separate palace, only showing up rarely, while Su Yu spent his days mingling with Zhang Zhongmou, Su Yun, Lei Rui, Zhao Shichang, Li Dong, and others, most of whom clung to Su Yu, wanting to hear the tales of the "Bronze Tower" and the legendary perfect Upper Realm.

Su Yu recounted some of his experiences after leaving this world, fascinating everyone. When Su Yu spoke of his battle with the Maya Pillar Gods, they were even more astounded. Zhang Zhongmou couldn’t help but exclaim, "The Aztec’s Immortal? What exactly is that thing? Su Yu, how far are you from this ’Immortal’?"

Su Yu smiled, shook his head, and sighed, "There’s no comparison, no comparison..."

While they were chatting, suddenly, an unusual disturbance came from the far horizon, which Su Yu sensed, prompting him to stand up immediately.

"It’s starting, the day of the end..." Ada’s voice on his shoulder became solemn.

"What? Isn’t today only the 20th?" Su Yu was slightly shocked. Wasn’t the prophesied day of the end December 21st? Could it be happening early?

"Let’s go have a look there, to see what’s happening." Ada pointed, and without taking the time to explain to Zhang Zhongmou and the others, Su Yu stomped his foot and shot into the sky. Soon enough, Su Yu noticed a pale red light barrier spreading infinitely across the sky, quickly obscuring the heavens as if a thin red veil had been draped over the void.
