Chapter 941 - 708
Chapter 941: 708
Su Yu was smiling and about to have another contest with Qi Ming when suddenly, his "Storage Ring" emitted an unusual fluctuation. He took out a wooden stick with astonishment and saw it emitting a "buzzing" sound.
In the midst of the heavy snowfall, a figure appeared in the sky above, with hands clasped behind their back, gracefully stepping through the void amidst the snow.
The Black Warriors who had gathered around to watch Su Yu’s contest with Qi Ming all looked up, their faces showing a hint of astonishment.
This figure seemed to have completely merged with the falling snow, and with the cultivation of Su Yu and the Black Warriors, if it weren’t for the fluctuation of the "buzzing" sound from the stick in the Storage Ring, they would have likely remained unaware of the figure’s presence until it was right beside them.
By the time Su Yu and the others noticed, the figure who had been treading through the void and the snow was less than fifty meters above their heads. In the blink of an eye, the figure appeared in front of Su Yu.
The wooden stick in his hand kept buzzing and trembling, as if it was about to fly out of Su Yu’s grasp.
Su Yu instinctively tried to tighten his grip, but the figure simply smiled faintly and with a casual swipe, Su Yu felt a tightness in his chest. His right hand, as if struck by an electric shock, sprang open instantly, and the wooden stick, now emitting a joyful "buzzing" sound, firmly landed in the palm of the figure.
Su Yu’s heart chilled, and he stepped back, staring at the figure before him.
The snow was getting heavier, falling in clumps. Soon, a layer of white snow rested on the faces and bodies of the Black Warriors and Su Yu’s party.
"Who are you?" Qi Ming stepped forward and asked in a stern, soft voice. As the saying goes, those who come are not good, and good ones do not come; the figure’s appearance was mysterious, and moreover, they had effortlessly taken the wooden stick from Su Yu’s hand. It should be noted that Su Yu’s strength was now no less than Qi Ming’s.
Su Yu’s lips were slightly pursed as he looked at the figure before him—a person with a very peculiar face.
He stood right in front of Su Yu, his face fully exposed, and yet, Su Yu could not see it clearly. He could not discern the person’s features.
Ada, on Su Yu’s shoulder, also showed a look of surprise on her face, fixating on this person with the odd appearance.
Actually, they didn’t feel any terrible oppressive sensation from this person.
One day, whether they saw the Maya Pillar Gods or the mysterious Golden Eagle-headed figure, their entrance was intimidating, piercing through heaven and earth. When they approached Su Yu and the others, Su Yu felt suffocated, experiencing an immense pressure, which stemmed from an absolute difference in strength.
But now, Su Yu clearly felt no oppressive sensation at all. Even though this person with the peculiar face was standing right in front of him, he had absolutely no sense of their presence. If Su Yu closed his eyes, he would certainly think this person didn’t exist.
The world, the heavy snow, at this moment seemed to merge with this person with the peculiar face, indistinguishable from each other.
"An Aztec...Immortal..." After a long silence, Su Yu finally uttered these words. The group of Black Warriors behind him took a deep breath in unison.
For the first time, they felt how cold the world could be; the air they inhaled was so bitterly cold.
Wang Heng, Zhang Kuo, Ming Jing, and others came out one after another, then unconsciously slowed down their steps. Amidst the snowflakes as large as goose feathers, the vaguely seen figure stood there, releasing no terrifying aura; yet just by standing there, it gave off a blinding and dazzling presence.
A deity—this was a true deity.
This thought surfaced in everyone’s minds. Compared to that figure, what were the Maya Pillar Gods? They were merely false gods, impostors with only the name of deity.
Hearing Su Yu’s words, the figure with the strange face appeared to silently smile, extended their left hand, and gently stroked the wooden stick, which looked very ordinary. Suddenly, the stick tilted upwards, pointing directly at Su Yu.
"Stop—" The group of Black Warriors behind them, suddenly horrified, surged forward.
If this figure with the odd appearance was indeed the only Immortal from the ten great races and civilizations of legend, then just a point of the wooden stick could cause all life present to disintegrate into ashes.
A group of Black Warriors rushed forward, only to find themselves grasping at empty air. Several of them, moving too fast, collided with each other, and stunned, they looked up, only to realize that the figure and Su Yu, somehow, were now suspended high in the void. The heavy snow continued to fall wildly, quickly enveloping them both as two snow figures.
"What’s going on? How did they get up there?"
Wang Heng, in astonishment, leaped up to stand in front of Su Yu. When he leaped, however, he suddenly realized that the distance between them had not shortened at all.
The bizarre situation shockingly astounded the Black Warrior, but at that moment, Su Yu remained completely unaware. All he could perceive was the sudden growth of the stick in front of him, which swiftly touched his forehead.
By the time he thought to resist, it was already too late. The speed of the stick surpassed even his thoughts, but just as the stick touched his forehead, a Giant Will within his mind seethed into action.
The touch of the stick, like lighting a fuse in a gunpowder store, unleashed a willpower akin to a roaring dragon, which instantly collided with the stick. Shortly after, the mysterious existence trembled slightly and then slowly withdrew the stick.
"Indeed..."
Finally, this person of odd visage, whose true face was hard to remember, spoke.
That voice sounded eerily familiar to Su Yu, and it quickly dawned on him. After the battle in Bonanpak City, when the stick had been knocked away by the Golden Skeleton, a furious roar had resounded through the distant cosmos of the universe, a voice identical to this unclear figure before him.
With a slight inhale, Su Yu was certain that this indistinct person was none other than the one known as "Immortal" from the legends, the single being born from the ten great races.
"Aztec Clan," the supreme and unparalleled Immortal existence.
"Tlorlok, how is it?" From the depths of the cosmos, suddenly, another voice echoed distantly.
The Black Warrior and others, including Su Yu, were startled and looked up, only to see a sky full of heavy snow and not a shadow in sight. Who was this voice, suddenly coming from above?
"Indeed... not bad... truly a curious kind... but, another test is needed..." The strangely visaged figure spoke, and in its voice there was none of the anger that had been in Bonanpak City. Instead, his eyes shone with a peculiar gleam.
As "he" finished speaking, the stick in his hand was raised high and struck down towards Su Yu again, this time without holding back, and smashed forcefully onto Su Yu’s left shoulder.
With a muffled groan, Su Yu felt as though his shoulder was about to completely shatter. Under the oppressive power, a tremendous will burst forth wildly.
"Roar—" A terrifying roar akin to thunder erupted right when Su Yu’s shoulder seemed about to disintegrate, and one golden wing after another unfolded and rose.
With a resounding "boom," six Golden Dragon heads furiously gobbled down.
The oddly shaped figure retreated abruptly, and the six Golden Dragons snapped at nothing. As they raised their heads, there it was—the stick, having already struck hard upon the head of one of the Golden Dragons.
"Today is not the same as the last time. Unleash your strongest power. I want to see where your limit lies..." The voice, tinged with a hint of laughter, continued as the stick descended. One of the Golden Dragon’s heads was instantly shattered, and the figure demolished each of the six Golden Dragon heads with six consecutive strikes, causing the massive golden illusion to collapse and vanish in an instant.
Below, Su Yu fell to the ground with a stifled groan, coughing up a mouthful of fresh blood.
Above in the void, the figure with the stick did not continue the attack, but instead sounded somewhat disappointed, "Too weak, far less than that punch last time. I personally came for you; boy, do not disappoint me..."
"Tlorlok, it seems that his power is tied to his emotions. Let’s go, it’s sufficient to have confirmation..." Another indistinct voice spoke puzzling words and traveled down from the cosmic ends.
The strangely visaged figure, wielding the stick, looked down at Su Yu, who had fallen weakly to the ground, and noticing that the shoulder he had just smashed was already healing, commented softly, "Such a recovery ability is possessed only by deities, yet he is but a Silver Soldier, truly curious... This adds one more piece of evidence; the outcome should now be assured..."
With these words, the figure suddenly tossed the stick, which "whooshed" through the air and landed in front of Su Yu, sticking firmly into the ground before him.
"I give you this stick, sealed with my power, enough to help you through various calamities. Boy, strive hard. I am looking forward to the day we meet once again."
After these enigmatic words, the figure’s shape wavered and disappeared into the void, leaving behind a stunned Black Warrior and others.
What was this guy’s intention? First, he gravely wounded Su Yu and then gave him the stick; what was he plotting?
Not only were the Black Warrior and others perplexed, but even Su Yu and Ada couldn’t fathom his motives.
Back in the battle of Bonanpak City, in front of many beings, Su Yu had sent the Immortal of the Aztec flying with a single punch. Logically, this should have been an immense disgrace. It was strange enough that the Aztec Immortal didn’t seek vengeance, but why would he give his representative stick to Su Yu? (To be continued... please visit www.qidian.com for further updates.
