Chapter 904: Chapter 681 Unexpected by Everyone_1
Above the void, in that flying disc, Yana, wearing a sunhat, caught sight of the "Fallen Battle Beast" from afar, and was slightly startled; she had not expected Su Yu and the Black Warriors to come.
In the suspended replica of the "Silver Train," Wang An, holding the Golden Ball and draped in a gorgeous white robe, saw this "Fallen Battle Beast," his heart tightened slightly as his eyes slowly constricted.
Lu Sanxi beside him let out a soft cold laugh, "These guys..." He hadn’t expected that the Black Warriors, having suffered such a setback, would still have the leisure to watch this "Maya Clan’s" battle of the gods. These damned fellows should have stayed obediently in the "Million Great Mountains."
Ao Lei laughed heartily, "They’ve arrived, all of you Mayas, if we were betting, you all would’ve lost to me now, heh, heh heh."
In the arena, within the nine towering pillars of darkness, a low hum could be faintly heard.
Lei Leian, puzzled by Ao Lei’s side, asked softly, "Who has come?" She did not recognize the "Fallen Battle Beast," and of course, she did not possess Ao Lei’s ability to sense everything instantly.
The extraordinarily beautiful woman, Feng Ya, holding Lei Leian’s hand, chuckled softly, "Silly girl, isn’t it just the boy you’ve been longing to see?"
"Su Yu? He’s here?" Lei Leian exclaimed with both shock and delight, unable to help but raise her head to look around and quickly turned her gaze towards the distant "Fallen Battle Beast."
Xixi, the girl of the Maya Clan, chuckled lightly, "Ji Peisen, hurry and have those guys clear the way; the one we’ve been waiting for has arrived."
Ji Peisen’s heart tightened. He too recognized that it belonged to the "Amori Clan’s" battle beast behemoth. Hadn’t the "Amori Clan" been attacked? But without giving it further thought, he busied himself with giving orders, and soon all around, people made way. The news spread rapidly, stirring discussions among the powerful entities in the sky.
The man sitting alone on the "Black Tombstone," the City Lord from Sumer City, laughed aloud, "Here they come. I truly want to witness this human who has gained so much attention from the gods. Who could this sacred being be?"
When Lu Sanxi and others in the sky heard the news, they too were stunned. Lu Sanxi slapped his hands together and exclaimed, "This is bad, could it be that the ’Fallen Battle Beast’ has been snatched from the hands of the Black Warriors by that mysterious human warrior? This complicates things." His face suddenly turned pale.
Although the "Fallen Battle Beast" had fallen into the hands of Su Yu and the Black Warriors, Lu Sanxi wasn’t worried—ready to resolve the issue with the Black Warriors and reclaim the "Fallen Battle Beast" as soon as something happened to Yana. But if the "Fallen Battle Beast" had indeed fallen into the hands of that mysterious human warrior powerful enough to contend with gods, even with ten times more courage, he, Lu Sanxi, wouldn’t dare to challenge such a mysterious, powerful figure for the "Fallen Battle Beast."
A disappointed look immediately appeared on Lu Sanxi’s face.
The sky abounded with discussions, with the eyes of about one hundred and fifty thousand creatures, in that moment, almost entirely focused on the "Fallen Battle Beast."
Everyone was eager to know just how powerful that mysterious human warrior—who merited the descent of the Maya Gods and such grandeur—really was, and what divine being they might be.
From within the nine pillars of darkness touching the sky, a faint ripple came through, followed by a soft cold chuckle, "This is the feeling... after killing this brat today... it will surely help us take that step..."
The massive fortress-like "Fallen Battle Beast" slowly descended onto the arena, its doors like wings began to rise high, and everyone’s eyes gathered at the entrance. Then, under the watchful eyes of the many, one after another demi-god warrior in black attire and armor, started to emerge.
"Black Warriors?" Inside the suspended Silver Train, Lu Sanxi, Wang An, and others were all taken aback.
All the surviving Black Warriors, in succession, walked out, each of them with a very somber expression. Xixi, the girl from the Maya Clan, laughed playfully, "A bunch of lowly demi-gods, it doesn’t matter how many come, they’re just ants."
Xixi’s voice was loud, carrying far and wide. In that moment, most of the hundred and fifty thousand beings felt discomfited, as most of them were Silver Rank warriors and, aside from a few special beings, Xixi’s words had implicated nearly everyone present.
Nearly a thousand Black Warriors silently and solemnly formed two rows, and only then did Su Yu, with Ada, Qin Jiagui, Qing Huang, Wang Heng, Zhang Kuo, Ming Jing, Lin Yi, and Doudou... one by one, follow suit.
Su Yu set foot in the arena, slightly looked up, and saw the nine towering pillars of darkness in the distance. His expression was calm, as if he was neither joyous nor worried.
The other nearly thousand Black Warriors slowly retreated until Su Yu was left standing alone, peacefully facing the nine pillars of darkness head-on, while the hundreds of thousands of beings from all around and in the sky, at this moment, watched him like they were transfixed.
This act clearly indicated that Su Yu was the mysterious human warrior challenged by the Maya Gods, but how could such a young man, easily discernible by many strong beings as nothing but a Silver Soldier, be the one?
The gods from the legendary "Maya Civilization" came forth with great fanfare to challenge a Silver Soldier who wasn’t even a Demi-god. Could there be anything more ridiculous in this world?
"What’s going on? Who is that kid?"
"Impossible, look at that setup. Could he really be the Maya God’s chosen adversary?"
"Is this... Have we made a mistake?"
"What on earth is happening?"
"Hey, does anyone know who that kid is? What exactly is going on here today?"
Discussions erupted from all sides, and over a hundred thousand beings instantly boiled over in excitement. Yana in midair also furrowed her beautiful brows, murmuring, "What’s the situation? Su Yu is the opponent chosen by the Maya Gods? How is that possible?"
Weike, the middle-aged man beside her with a round, plump face, also looked utterly bewildered.
"Could there have been a mistake? Can someone tell us what’s really going on? Or could it be that this youth is not the appointed opponent of the Maya God? That somebody else is the intended one? Or perhaps it’s this youth’s elder?"
The air was filled with clamor. People had traveled countless miles to witness a pinnacle battle between divine beings, not to watch such a farce. As Su Yu emerged to face the nine heavenly beams of dark light alone, the sight nearly made everyone’s jaw drop to the ground.
Finally catching sight of Su Yu once more, Lei Leian couldn’t help but cry out in joy, "Su Yu, Su Yu—" Continuously waving her hands, she wanted to rush over but was held back by her mother, Feng Ya, incapable of moving.
Having not seen Su Yu for nearly five months, Lei Leian was overwhelmed at last laying eyes on him again. Seeing that Su Yu appeared more mature and much more weathered, she kept calling out to him, and suddenly her heart felt a pang.
Su Yu, who had just walked out from the "Fallen Beast," took a deep breath and lifted his head to face the nine pillars of Darkness. He knew these were the Maya Pillar Gods. Suddenly, hearing the familiar cry of a woman from the other side, his heart was struck. He turned his head and instantly saw Lei Leian, as well as the grey-clothed man whom he had met once before—he knew it was Lei Leian’s father, Ao Lei.
"Lei Leian?" Su Yu was inexplicably overjoyed, unable to help but want to rush over, but he quickly restrained himself. Lei Leian’s parents were by her side, and the beautiful woman was preventing Lei Leian from running over. It seemed like her parents would not welcome him.
Upon this realization, Su Yu’s excitement faded somewhat. Many words he wanted to say ended up as a simple nod of greeting to Lei Leian.
Qin Jiagui, Qing Huang, and the others, following Su Yu’s earlier instructions, along with the other Black Warriors, all retreated to the edges of the arena at Su Yu’s bidding. They were told that they couldn’t intercede in the battle against the Maya Pillar Gods. Their participation would only add to the casualties.
Qing Huang looked around at the massive crowd. No one had expected there to be so many people gathered there. They also saw the Silver Train from the "Silver Empire" and the Dark Giant Ship from "Demon City." Many Black Warriors felt a surging hatred in their hearts but exerted strong self-control. They knew today was not the time for revenge; today was Su Yu’s, and their Lord Ada’s, moment of grave crisis.
If the Maya Pillar Gods decided to slay Su Yu, Ada would likely not be spared either. With their immense power, Su Yu and Ada would barely have time to react before being completely obliterated.
As a Category 5 Lifeform, Ada couldn’t be harmed by powers beneath that category. However, with the strength of the Maya Pillar Gods, they would definitely be able to injure Ada.
This intense worry made all the Black Warriors and Qin Jiagui turn their full attention to the arena, with no mind for "Silver Empire," "Demon City," or any other factions.
Everywhere people were talking, speculating about whether Su Yu was truly the mysterious powerhouse that the Maya Gods had challenged. Over the last twenty days, there were at least twenty different versions of stories about this enigmatic figure, though no version ever suggested that the figure would be a young Silver Soldier barely in his twenties. It was just too incredible to believe.
Su Yu surveyed the powerful figures in the sky, seeing Ao Lei, Lei Leian, and also Yana standing beside the doorway of the disk-shaped flying vessel.
Yana was still wearing a sun hat, standing there with a slender and lonely silhouette.
Relieved at seeing Yana unharmed, Su Yu let out a breath. During the battle with the "Amori Clan," she had ultimately driven away Lu Sanxi and the strong from Demon City, but he himself had collapsed, seemingly in a dire state. Today, seeing her looking well, Su Yu was at ease.
When he looked at Lei Leian, he couldn’t penetrate the aura she emitted. Su Yu smiled slightly. Lei Leian had good parents, indeed; at least she wouldn’t have to take many detours, at least she wouldn’t be as brash as they were when they first came to this world, at least she wouldn’t need to struggle every day just to survive as they did.
