Chapter 874: Chapter 661 Gate of Immortality_1

Su Yu remembered that when Lei Leian was in the Black Iron World, she had told him that she possessed a "Silver Train Ticket" that would take her directly to this world. At that time, Su Yu was troubled by being pursued and hunted by Yana and did not want to involve Lei Leian, so he simply told her that he would come to find her in due time.

Now, so many days had passed, and he had continuously been without any news of Lei Leian. Although Lei Leian’s parents were no ordinary people and she should be safe, and unlikely to be as unlucky as him, having encountered trouble upon arrival in the Upper Realm and been detained, he was still somewhat worried.

As Ada listened to Su Yu inquire so, she hummed softly, then closed her eyes and began to sense continuously.

Ada also had a vivid impression of Lei Leian and remembered her aura. As long as Lei Leian was still in this world, given Ada’s current ability and enough time, she should be able to sense her presence.

Unfortunately, after a long while of sensing, Ada opened her eyes with a hint of disappointment and shook her head, "Strange, why can’t I sense her presence? Could it be that she didn’t come to this world?"

Su Yu suddenly became startled and looked towards Ada.

Ada’s complexion grew more solemn as she slowly said, "Logically speaking, Lei Leian wouldn’t deceive you, and it’s very likely that her parents could obtain a Silver Train Ticket, so she should have arrived in this world. It’s just... strange, my sensing can’t be wrong, why... can’t I sense her presence?"

Su Yu’s expression turned ugly as he asked, "Ada, apart from her not coming to this world, under what other circumstances would you be unable to sense her?"

"Dead," Ada said with two simple words, which made Su Yu suddenly stop in his tracks while running. The dog behind him barked wildly, almost crashing into him.

Zhang Kuo, one of the four great Demi-gods, managed to stop instantly.

"Su Yu, what happened?"

Su Yu’s expression was somewhat grim, Ada said softly, "Don’t worry, Lei Leian’s parents are not ordinary people, she should be fine. Perhaps, her parents have some special method to isolate and shield her aura, she won’t be in trouble."

"Right," Su Yu resumed his rush, but now seemed somewhat restless.

Now, with Ma Ziye taken away by that mysterious inheritance and her whereabouts unknown, and Lei Leian’s presence unfelt, Su Yu suddenly felt a sense of agitation and confusion.

All this was due to his own lack of strength; otherwise, why would he be so worried about them? He didn’t even know whether they were alive or dead right now.

Su Yu’s mood became dejected, facing such a vast and unfathomable world, he indeed felt powerless. Although he had become much stronger, thousands of times stronger than when he was in the Heavenly Pit Forest, he suddenly realized that his situation hadn’t changed. In the face of the world and everything that lay before him, he still had no power to influence or change anything.

At this moment, the Lei Leian whom Su Yu was concerned about had been frozen within a glacier tens of thousands of feet deep, unable to move a muscle.

Through the semi-transparent glacier, one could vaguely see Lei Leian inside, and on her face, flickers of white light shone intermittently.

This was a boundless expanse of glacial ocean, where not a single living creature could be seen throughout this world, except for Lei Leian, who was frozen within, and a gray-robed man who was watching her from a distance, along with another exceptionally beautiful woman who resembled Lei Leian.

"Ao Lei, isn’t this method a bit too harsh on Lei Leian?" the exceptionally beautiful woman, Feng Ya, looked distantly at Lei Leian frozen deep in the glacier, her face expressing a pained emotion.

"Feng Ya..." The eyebrows of the gray-robed man were thick, filled with an air of authority.

"You should know, in just over a year, the end of the Fifth Epoch will arrive, and even we may not be able to protect ourselves. Now, the only hope is to temper Lei Leian, to make her stronger, at least, to enable her to protect herself," he sighed suddenly.

Feng Ya looked at the gray-robed man, her brows furrowed in understanding of his thoughts, she asked softly, "Still resenting them?"

Ao Lei gave a bittersweet smile and said, "To watch the Gate of Immortality opening up right in front of me, but then in a blink, everything was lost. I don’t even have the power of the Totem anymore, reduced to something like the Maya Pillar God. However, the one thing I’m proud of is that the Totem of the Maya Clan, that damn Yali, also fell by my hand."

At this point, Ao Lei’s face finally revealed a trace of a smile.

The stunning woman sighed, "Yali of the Maya Clan, he truly is a fearsome being. However, if he hadn’t sacrificed himself, you, Ao Lei, would not have suffered a severe injury, a drastic drop in your strength. But I believe in you, you can surely regain your former peak strength."

"The only one who can help me is Lei Leian. I’m afraid even those guys would never have guessed that I had laid out this piece in the game so many years ago. I had anticipated that a situation like this might arise. Lei Leian, my daughter, as long as you succeed, I will not only regain my original peak strength but also take advantage of this momentum to break through the ’Gate of Immortality’ and achieve true immortality," he said.

At this point, the man in the gray robe became excited, and his face was filled with a thick smile, his palms tightly clasped together.

Immortality, that is the ultimate existence that countless beings aspire to attain.

"To achieve immortality, I will definitely settle scores with those damned beings, the Maya Clan, the Amori Clan, you old fools, I, Ao Lei, will find each of you for retribution. I will personally establish my own Ao Lei Clan," he declared.

Ao Lei suddenly laughed uproariously, his laughter stirring titanic waves in the ocean, battering the glaciers and producing a thunderous roar.

The despairing woman, however, watched Lei Leian in the distance within the glacier with a pained heart, "My daughter, you’ve suffered so much, but for the future, you must become powerful. You are our only hope now, otherwise, in the future... we’re likely to be unable to escape that calamity..."

Su Yu, Zhang Kuo, Qi Ming, and the others rushed southward, and the next day, they finally emerged from the "Million Great Mountains," arriving in front of an ancient-looking city.

To avoid attracting attention, Zhang Kuo and the others had discarded their black clothing and armor, dressing in simple cloth garments like Su Yu. After running for a full day and night and hearing the continuous barking of the dog, they realized it was due to hunger.

Although with their realm, they could go without food and drink for a month without problems, their bodies would still feel normal hunger. Of course, if they endured it, the hunger would fade away.

"An’s City? What city is this? Let’s go in and have a look," Ming Jing chuckled as she watched the salivating, hungry state of the dog beside her, unable to suppress a laugh.

Zhang Kuo, despite his broad knowledge, didn’t know which power An’s City belonged to. Qi Ming, due to the proximity of the Hundred Clans Settlement, had some knowledge, and he said, "An’s City belongs to the An clan, a not insignificant power. However, since we’ve never interacted with them, the specifics are unclear to me."

Zhang Kuo responded with a hum. He had a clear understanding of the world and knew the relationships among some of its powers were quite complex. It was normal for Qi Ming not to know, so he didn’t press further. The group decided to enter the city for a rest and something to eat, following the crowd through the city gates into An’s City.

An’s City spanned a large area, encircled by tall walls, with a bustling population moving to and fro. While it seemed unremarkable on the surface, amongst the throngs of people passing by, there could be terrifyingly powerful beings hidden.

Upon reaching a certain level, many beings had learned to conceal their true aura. Unless they wanted you to be aware of it, it would not be easy to sense the real strength or depth of a truly powerful being.

As they walked down the main street, Su Yu noticed that the crowd wasn’t wholly composed of humans; there were also many other highly intelligent lifeforms with humanoid appearances.

They found a place that looked reasonably imposing to sit down and rest. Su Yu looked around and saw that the city was not much different from the general trading centers he had seen in the Black Iron World, with a variety of goods and resources for sale. The main difference here seemed to be the sheer number of humanoid intelligent creatures, and the occasional sounds of arguments or even fights carrying through the air.

"It seems quite unrestful here." Su Yu had just sat down and taken a sip of water when he heard at least two quarrels and a scream of fighting coming from afar.

No sooner had he spoken than a scream came from outside the entrance, followed by a large figure crashing heavily through the door.

Sitting at a table near the entrance, one man casually lifted his hand and grabbed the large figure that was about to collide with his table. He then threw it back out, while his other hand still held a cup of wine, toasting with his companions. The whole scene played out as if nothing had ever happened.

Su Yu watched, somewhat dumbfounded, while Zhang Kuo smiled and said, "This kind of thing happens all the time. It’s not unusual."

Su Yu replied with a wry smile, "Still, doesn’t this seem a bit too chaotic?"

"Hmm, the ten great races, along with countless city powers and factions, are constantly in strife. This has been going on for thousands of years, and no one can solve it," Zhang Kuo said with a light smile.

In this world, there were simply too many powerful beings. A disagreement could easily lead to a brawl, and the weaker ones would be bullied by the strong. Of course, the only advantage of this situation was that everyone sought to become stronger, at least strong enough to protect themselves and not be oppressed. (To be continued...
