Chapter 844: Chapter 640 Impulse among Black Warriors_1
Su Yu felt a mysterious warmth welling up in his heart upon hearing these words. Although there were numerous Black Warriors gathered here over the past two days, hardly any had looked at him directly. In fact, many of them couldn’t understand why Ada would choose such a weakling like him, a mere Silver Soldier of the Third Level, as the Master of Companion.
Among these Black Warriors, only Qi Ming treated him somewhat better. However, Qi Ming was just an ordinary member among the Black Warriors, and it wasn’t fitting for him to go around explaining how outstanding Su Yu was, or how he had directly advanced from Bronze rank to Silver Third Rank.
The Black Warriors were rather indifferent to Su Yu’s performance. Of course, there was no impolite behavior, but Su Yu couldn’t help feeling a suffocating sense of frustration.
In such circumstances, the silver-haired man’s comment brought warmth to Su Yu’s heart, giving him a sense of recognition.
Had Qi Ming made this comment, perhaps it wouldn’t have affected Zhang Kuo, Wang Heng, and others much. But coming from the silver-haired man, it had a different impact. Wang Heng, Zhang Kuo, and Ming Jing’s eyes suddenly all focused on Su Yu, though their expressions were somewhat odd.
However, what Wang Heng was anxious and concerned about at the moment wasn’t whether Su Yu was excellent or not. After all, as a Silver Soldier of the Third Level, Su Yu was a matter for the future; as far as their existence was concerned, he truly had the strength less than an ant’s.
"Hey, big brother, it’s been so many years since we last met, won’t you say something? Shi Kai, our younger brother, has been killed. Are we really going to sit here and do nothing?" Wang Heng called out anxiously.
The silver-haired man took his gaze away from Su Yu and finally rested it on Wang Heng’s face, then looked at Ming Jing and Zhang Kuo. After a moment, he sighed softly and said, "You really are causing trouble. First with the Silver Empire, now what’s happening, you’re planning to make a move on ’Demon City’? Do you really think we’re still the Black Warriors of the previous era?"
"Causing trouble?" Wang Heng first paused, then became somewhat angered. Although he had great respect for the silver-haired man, he still could not tolerate such accusations from him.
"We saw the Fire Meteor and rushed over to gather. We’ve waited ten thousand years, yeah! To once again see Lord Ada, and you call this causing trouble? Wang An, you weren’t like this ten thousand years ago. Do you even understand what you’re saying? Once Lord Ada awakens, say that again in front of him. Have you forgotten the favor Lord Ada did for you? Without Lord Ada, where would you be today?"
Wang Heng howled, taking a step forward and grabbing the silver-haired man’s collar, his face turning red with emotion.
The silver-haired man remained calm, letting Wang Heng grab his collar. He waited until Wang Heng finished shouting before speaking indifferently, "Even if Lord Ada awakens, I will say it again... You are causing trouble!"
"Wang An—" Wang Heng roared, finally raising his right fist and fiercely smashing it into Wang An’s cheek.
There was a loud "thump," and the punch landed solidly on the silver-haired man’s cheek. Wang Heng was stunned by his own success.
Ten thousand years ago, the silver-haired man was much stronger than him—a figure stronger than the three great Black Warriors of the time. Wang Heng himself didn’t believe his punch would land, but to his surprise, the silver-haired man didn’t dodge and let himself be hit hard, his body flying backward from the blow.
With a "bang" upon landing, the silver-haired man slowly propped himself up. Half of his face collapsed inward, a gruesome sight. Yet, miraculously, it regenerated at a visible rate, and within a few seconds, the distorted, collapsed face returned to normal.
Wang Heng looked at his fist and then at Wang An’s face, which had almost instantly recovered. Suddenly he understood. Wang An didn’t dodge the punch; he wanted to demonstrate his power. Wang An’s instantaneous regeneration ability undoubtedly surpassed theirs. With this realization, Wang Heng felt a boiling anger within him.
"Wang An, take back what you just said. Otherwise, even if it costs me, Wang Heng, my life, I am determined to drag you down with me," Wang Heng bellowed, his body beginning to release a rising flame of energy, clearly enraged to the extreme.
Seeing the situation escalating, Ming Jing and Zhang Kuo hurried to intervene, with Zhang Kuo shouting, "Wang Heng, calm down! We’re all brothers here!"
Wang Heng sneered, "We treat him like a brother, but does he treat us the same? What did he just accuse us of? He thinks we’re causing trouble!" Suddenly pushing aside Zhang Kuo, he charged at the silver-haired man.
This time, Wang Heng held nothing back. His right fist roared out, accompanied by a sizzling "hiss," and halfway through, it revealed a golden fist containing an awe-inspiring, terrifying power.
The man with graying hair looked at Wang Heng’s Golden Fist, a sneer crossing his face, and suddenly, he charged out. His speed was much faster than Wang Heng’s. With an outstretched left hand, he caught Wang Heng’s Golden Fist sideways, and with a lift of his right hand and a long howl, Wang Heng hadn’t even comprehended what happened before feeling as if he had flown through the clouds, being hurled out in an instant.
With a "plop," Wang Heng was thrown a kilometer away, heavily crashing into a building and demolishing it.
"You wish to die, that’s your choice, but do you also intend to drag Lord Ada down with you? Can you truly avenge the hatred from the previous era and the price paid by Lord Ada’s ten thousand years of slumber with just a moment of hot-headed recklessness?"
Wang Heng, who had been flung far away, roared as he leaped into the sky, his Golden Fist trailing terrifying golden energy. He was about to strike at the man with graying hair once more, but the man’s words pierced his heart like spikes, making his heart sink suddenly, and he found he could not swing his Golden Fist anymore.
"Having endured and waited for ten thousand years, why can’t we endure and wait a little longer?"
With that, his gaze sharply fell upon Ming Jing’s face and he said coldly, "Killing a leader of the Silver Empire’s troops as a sacrifice? Does that make you feel mighty and fierce?"
Ming Jing’s pretty face turned slightly red, and the man with graying hair looked up at the sky, speaking coldly, "Ten thousand years ago, the Black Warriors possessed enough strength to flourish in compliance and to perish in defiance, killing without mercy those who dared to challenge our authority. But all of this was built upon strength; with overwhelming power that made others fear and revere, but playing these games without strength, do you understand what this action means?"
Wang Heng started to argue, "Are you saying we don’t have strength now?"
The man with graying hair scoffed, "Do any of you truly know the real power of the Silver Empire?" He had just said this when he suddenly shook his head as if very weary, "Wang Heng, I know you’ve established your own fortress deep within the Million Mountains. Let’s all fall back there. Now... it’s not time for the Black Warriors to emerge yet, it’s not yet time... for us to retake this world..."
Zhang Kuo bowed deeply to the man with graying hair, saying, "I understand." In truth, he felt similarly to the man with graying hair. Lord Ada is completely unable to exert his power now, and they, the eight thousand Black Warriors, were uncertain how many remained after these ten thousand years. Furthermore, they still couldn’t clearly see the major forces behind the scenes in this world.
This world was like muddy water; it was unwise to recklessly wade in and try to catch fish without seeing what lurks within—what fish there were and which crocodiles might bite.
Perhaps before they had caught any fish, they might be devoured by predatory crocodiles.
Wang Heng still wasn’t convinced and railed, "If we join forces, we could even match the gods. How powerful can the Silver Empire be?"
The man with graying hair looked at Wang Heng and suddenly realized, trying to persuade him with words was too hard, far too hard. It was not surprising, though; back in the world of ten thousand years ago, when Lord Ada led them, they were indeed invincible. Even if they were defeated in the end, it was not due to a lack of strength, but rather a lack of fortune.
The belief in the invincibility of the Black Warriors was etched too deeply in the minds of Wang Heng and the others, plus he had secluded himself in the Million Mountains for so many years, barely touching the external world, so he simply couldn’t adapt to this world. He couldn’t believe that in this world there existed forces that even they could not defeat.
"You think you can match the gods? Fine, then try and defeat me together. If you succeed, I’ll go mad with you and take down the Silver Empire and destroy Demon City," the man with graying hair’s eyes emitted a terrifying fierceness as he scanned the gathered one thousand eight hundred plus Black Warriors.
"Since you believe you can match the gods together, then come and defeat me—" Once the man with graying hair had finished speaking, he straightened up, challenging the one thousand eight hundred plus Black Warriors before him.
Su Yu watched the man with graying hair from behind, admiring his boldness, facing one thousand warriors alone. Forgoing his strength, just this spirit alone qualified him as the strongest Black Warrior. Yet, who were the other two who stood shoulder to shoulder with him?
Wang Heng glared at Wang An, saying, "You’re stronger than us, but do you really think you can challenge us all by yourself?"
Zhang Kuo and Ming Jing shook their heads secretly at the side. When Wang Heng led a thousand Black Warriors to perform "Black Flame Hell," even King of Thunder, one of the three great leaders of the Silver Empire, could not withstand a single blow. Wang An, though regarded as one of the three strongest Black Warriors ten thousand years ago, could not possibly challenge them alone.
"You said it; if we defeat you, you’ll listen to us?" Wang Heng stared at the man with graying hair and inquired. (To be continued... To find out what happens next, please visit www.qidian.com. More Chapters are available there, and your support for the author and genuine reading is appreciated!)
