Chapter 819: Chapter 622 Dark Giant Ship_1
Among the towering mountains, Su Yu and the others had never imagined that such a vast giant city could exist. The city was irregular in shape, occupying about five giant peaks and countless valleys and basins. Buildings stood atop mountains or clung to the mountainsides, and some stretched undulatingly through the valleys. The giant city before them perfectly integrated the mountain peaks with the urban area.
When Su Yu, together with Qin Jiagui, Qing Huang, and Zhu Dasheng, stood at the base of a tall mountain and looked down at the sprawling complex of buildings stretching for dozens of kilometers below them, Zhu Dasheng said proudly, "This is our home, which we call ’Hundred Clans Settlement.’ We welcome people from all clans to live here, it’s a world where all clans are truly equal."
Su Yu murmured, "This is truly breathtaking. To build such a majestic city among the mountains represents the wisdom of a hundred species and the perfect combination with nature. Impressive, so very impressive."
Qin Jiagui whispered to Qing Huang, "It seems that they are much more formidable than your Phoenix Valley. Their Settlement Leader, the Black Warrior, looks to be quite talented."
Qing Huang, feeling slighted, glared fiercely at him. Qin Jiagui knew he had spoken out of turn and chuckled awkwardly, "I didn’t mean anything by it, it’s just that the giant city before us is indeed quite awe-inspiring."
Qing Huang snorted, "Just you watch, someday, I will make the Phoenix Clan even more majestic and far surpass this place."
Zhu Dasheng overheard their quiet conversation and said in surprise, "Qing Huang, you’re from the Phoenix Clan?" Clapping his hands, he exclaimed, "Ah, that’s right, your name even contains the character for ’phoenix.’ How could I not have realized, haha."
Then with a sigh, he added, "However, it seems that the Phoenix Clan is not having an easy time nowadays. Of course, it’s still much stronger compared to our Centaur Clan. The reason why the Hundred Clans Settlement was able to form is that we weaker clans couldn’t survive independently in this world, so we banded together, leading to the creation of the ’Hundred Clans Settlement.’"
As Zhu Dasheng expressed his feelings, a flock of giant birds flew across the sky with clear, piercing calls. Su Yu and the others looked up to see the giant birds, similar in size to Qing Huang or the Phoenix Dragon Beast, resembling huge eagles from their former world, but with two heads each. From a distance, they looked rather ferocious.
At the moment, this group of seven or eight giant eagles was heading towards the "Hundred Clans Settlement" below. Zhu Dasheng explained, "These are a branch of the ’Cang-Diao Clan,’ known as Double-Headed Eagles. Currently, there are less than a hundred of them in the entire ’Hundred Clans Settlement.’ If it hadn’t been for the help of our Settlement Leader, the Black Warrior, this branch of Double-Headed Eagles would have been exterminated by the ’Sky Ferocious Eagles’ within the ’Cang-Diao Clan.’ Because they have the protection of the ’Hundred Clans Settlement,’ they’ve managed to survive. Considering their breeding situation, in about ten more years, they should reach a size of around a thousand and revive the prosperity of the Double-Headed Eagles branch."
Listening to Zhu Dasheng’s explanation, Ada asked curiously, "So is this Settlement Leader, the Black Warrior, the one who gathered all these weaker clans, which were even near extinction, and then developed the ’Hundred Clans Settlement’ to what it is today? If that’s the case, he must have offended many powers, like helping the Double-Headed Eagles and thus offending the ’Sky Ferocious Eagles.’ For the Settlement Leader to expand the ’Hundred Clans Settlement’ to its current size... how many forces must he have offended?"
As Ada said this, his eyes widened in surprise, "Could it be that this Black Warrior possesses god-like formidable strength?"
Without such formidable strength to rely on, it would have been impossible for the Settlement Leader, the Black Warrior, to gather a giant city-like ’Hundred Clans Settlement.’
Zhu Dasheng laughed and said, "Actually, it’s not as exaggerated as you think. It might have been a bit troublesome at first, but as more and more clans gathered around us, the ’Hundred Clans Settlement’ itself became a powerful force. Ordinary species shouldn’t underestimate us."
As he spoke, his face showed a proud expression.
Ada nodded, "It seems that meeting this Settlement Leader, the Black Warrior, is a must. To lead the ’Hundred Clans Settlement’ to its current size is not a simple feat."
"Indeed, let’s go," Zhu Dasheng laughed, leading Su Yu and the others down the steep slope with an incline of nearly seventy degrees on the side of the giant mountain.
This nearly kilometer-high slope would make any ordinary person’s limbs go weak at a single glance, so who would dare to dash down without any safety measures? But Su Yu and his companions were not ordinary people. They didn’t even need to transform and directly followed Zhu Dasheng down at a run, kicking up stones and dust that rolled down with a "rattle" sound.
Diu Diu barked happily as it ran because it had caught the scent of its kin. This "Hundred Clans Settlement" also seemed to have members of Diu Diu’s species, exciting the little creature.
Racing down the nearly vertical kilometer slope like galloping horses, Qing Huang let out excited cries as they descended. Below the slope, a massive stone gate towered ahead, behind which lay countless buildings in various styles. The "Hundred Clans Settlement" housed diverse groups, each with its distinctive dwelling style, resulting in the array of architectural styles seen throughout the Settlement.
The various styles merged together, not only without chaos, but with a sense of grandeur and magnificence that embraced all things.
Just as Su Yu and the others were about halfway down the slope of the colossal wall, sharp, piercing howls suddenly came from the distance.
These howls, like the roar of tigers and the chant of dragons, possessed the might to shake heaven and earth, even Zhu Dasheng’s complexion drastically changed, and he hurriedly looked up in the direction from which the sound was coming.
Su Yu and Qin Jiagui also felt a shock to their senses, for the sharp howls made their hearts pound erratically, an inexplicable sense of oppression welling up instinctively, making it seem as if they couldn’t catch their breath.
The piercing howls had come so abruptly. Su Yu and the others, startled, looked into the distance, only to see from the eastern edge of the sky a surge of pitch-black clouds rolling in like waves. These clouds, like the billows of the sea, followed the shrill howls, and in almost the blink of an eye, had welled up from the eastern horizon, covering the entire sky visible to them. The once bright sky turned pitch black in an instant.
Su Yu and the others were profoundly shaken. Even Ada on his shoulder startled with a shriek. Zhu Dasheng was leading them down the nearly thousand meters high sheer cliff. By the time they reached the foot of the mountain, the waves of dark clouds in the sky, like the surge of a river’s tide, bore down, causing panic within the "Hundred Clans Settlement" below.
They had never witnessed such an event. The sun in the sky was obscured by the clouds of darkness, but even more astonishing was the emergence of the Dark Giant Ship with the piercing roars. It burst through the dark clouds as if riding the winds and breaking the waves, even faintly bringing the sound of a tsunami. This scene, with its tumultuous majesty, left Su Yu and the others dumbfounded, struggling to grasp reality.
The dark clouds formed an ocean of darkness overhead, while a Dark Giant Ship sailed through the sky with the winds, followed by another sharp howl. The ship’s three giant dark sails fluttered, emitting "whooshing" sounds, stirring up monstrous waves of clouds.
"Could it be Xingyu?" After a moment of stupor, Su Yu quickly remembered. On the day of his first trial, it was Xingyu from Atlantis who arrived on such a Dark Giant Ship. Now, seeing the Dark Giant Ship once more, Su Yu instinctively called out Xingyu’s name.
But soon, Su Yu realized that there seemed to be differences between the Dark Giant Ship before him and the one created by Xingyu, at least in that the current ship seemed more refined and more like a true gigantic vessel.
At this moment, indistinct shadows could be seen moving about on the ship. The entire "Hundred Clans Settlement" was dead silent; every person was looking up at the anomalies appearing in the sky, not understanding what was happening. The only thing they could feel was shock, utmost shock.
Amidst the astonishment of everyone below and the piercing howls from the Dark Giant Ship, in the midst of the sky-covering dark clouds, suddenly two streaks of light, like long rainbows, extended forward, slicing through the darkened sky like lightning.
Right after these two streaks of rainbow light, thunderous "rumbling" sounds erupted from the edge of the sky.
Within the familiar "rumbling" sounds, Su Yu and Qin Jiagui exchanged glances, both revealing shocked expressions. Soon after, Qin Jiagui exclaimed, "The Silver Train?"
In the sky, like a flash of light in the darkness, an opening was torn through the dark clouds that veiled the sky.
Through the gap, two streaks of light, like rainbow tracks, extended outward.
A massive train, both twenty meters in height and width, completely cast in silver, shooting out white mist like ribbons, streaked across the sky, tearing through the dark clouds and descending with a roar.
This Silver Train, both Qin Jiagui and Su Yu had seen twice before, seemed completely different from the previous ones; at least, the Silver Train that had suddenly roared through the sky seemed much longer, like a silver dragon surging forth from the heavens.
With a "boom" that shook the earth, the void seemed to explode open. The Silver Train, like a gigantic silver dragon, cut through the sky, and in a flash collided with the Dark Giant Ship riding the wind and waves above the clouds.(To be continued.
