Chapter 810: Chapter 616: The Heavenly Immortal Becomes Human_1
To evolve from the Seventh Order Bronze Warrior to the Eighth Stage, one must rely on powers other than Special power to complete the transformation. Of course, the power each person draws upon is different, and therefore the forms they take after the transformation are also distinct.
With the power of Thunder, Su Yu’s pair of Spine Bone Wings finally underwent a successful metamorphosis; with thunder serving as the bones and Special power as the flesh, they transformed into a pair of "Thunder Wings" that appeared bronze on the outside but contained the power of thunder within. His skill of bone wings evolved once more, reaching the ultimate realm of Thunder Wings.
Su Yu emerged from the small valley with a pair of wings that unfolded behind him, each approximately four meters in total length and nearly two meters each in span. When the wings flapped, Su Yu finally began to fly short distances, not merely gliding but truly flying; however, the speed, height, and distance of his flight were still insignificant, nowhere near as effortless as that of birds. Yet for Su Yu, this change was astonishing, simply because he could finally fly off the ground.
In those ten days, not only did Su Yu successfully evolve into an Eighth Stage Bronze Warrior, but Qin Jiagui also made use of seeds and abnormal evolutionary powers to achieve a transformative variation. After his evolution, the power he gained came from the perfection of those five bronze arms behind him, which evolved into six gigantic bronze arms. As he willed them, the six bronze arms spread out like wings, emitting a terrifying red glow. Running amidst the red flame, Qin Jiagui’s speed increased at least twofold. Coupled with his initial understanding of the seed "7", Qin Jiagui’s strength was now, like Su Yu, beyond what could be measured by the rank of an Eighth Stage Bronze Warrior.
Although Ma Ziye also worked hard at her practice, she failed to evolve to the Eighth Stage. Despite having a very special legacy, she did not master the true method of utilizing it, and at most, she could only wield those few Soul Weapons. She had no inkling of the essence of her legacy.
As for Ada, it spent its days sleeping and eating, becoming enamored with drinking the morning dew from the giant bamboo. It lounged on the bamboo daily, competing with the Phoenixes for the morning dew, drinking from above and relieving itself below, much to the dismay of the naturally clean Phoenixes. Inevitably, this led to comical scenes of a hundred Phoenixes chasing after a dog.
In those ten days, Ada truly stirred up chaos in Phoenix Valley, inciting a raucous scene fit for a barnyard.
Over these ten days, it was not only Su Yu and Qin Jiagui who successfully evolved into Eighth Stage Bronze Warriors with greatly enhanced strength; the most astoundingly refined metamorphosis belonged to the Phoenix Dragon Beast.
Ada did not deceive Wu Yu and the others. In just ten days, the Ancient Secret Techniques passed down from the ancestors of the Vermilion Bird from the previous century had an unimaginable effect on the Phoenix Dragon Beast. The "Vermilion Bird" bloodline from Wu Yu, the Qingluan bloodline from the Phoenix Dragon Beast’s mother, the Yuezhuo bloodline from the Yellow-robed Elder, and the bloodlines from the man in purple and the White-dressed Woman coexisted perfectly within the Phoenix Dragon Beast under the influence of the Ancient Secret Techniques.
Wu Yu’s Vermilion Bird bloodline was not complete, but combined with the other half of the Vermilion Bird bloodline already present in the Phoenix Dragon Beast, the supreme bloodline of the chief of the five legendary Phoenixes was perfectly born within the Phoenix Dragon Beast. Besides the Vermilion Bird, there were four other Phoenix bloodlines: Qingluan, and the legacy from the Dragon Clan among the Six Great Legacies. Under the influence of the Ancient Secret Techniques, the Phoenix Dragon Beast evolved to an astonishing level within those ten days.
Originally, the Phoenix Dragon Beast had a dragon’s head, wings, and claws while the rest of its body closely resembled that of a Phoenix, typically seen as a combination of dragon and Phoenix. As the six legacy bloodlines merged within its body, the Phoenix Dragon Beast underwent a tremendous transformation, its body growing from six or seven meters long to about ten meters, its head changing from a dragon’s to a Phoenix’s head, though its pair of dragon wings remained. However, six feathers of different colors sprouted on its tail feathers.
These six wondrous feathers, one as red as fire, one as blue as the morning sky, one as yellow as forged gold, one as purple as the coming dawn, one as white and pure as jade, and the sixth as black as ink.
The six distinctly colored magical feathers were like carvings from crystals of six different colors, their bodies translucent and luminous, with a semi-transparent sheen and a faint luster flowing within them.
The most astonishing transformation was the Phoenix Dragon Beast’s ability to morph into a human form. Whether it be Wu Yu, Qingluan, or the Yellow-robed Elder, they all could transform into humans. To assume human form, one must possess strength surpassing that of a Beast General. If the strength of a Beast General was equivalent to that of a Bronze Warrior, and the original Phoenix Dragon Beast was an eight-star Beast General with strength comparable to an Eighth Stage Bronze Warrior, then its ability to transform into a human signified strength beyond that of a Beast General.
This meant that the strength of the Phoenix Dragon Beast had now transcended the category of Bronze Warrior and reached the level of a Silver Soldier.
When Su Yu, Qin Jiagui, and the others saw the Phoenix Dragon Beast’s human form, they were all somewhat dumbstruck, hardly able to associate the image of this young girl before them with the once arrogant, somewhat rude, and colossal Phoenix Dragon Beast.
In appearance, she seemed like a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl, with fine brows and beautiful eyes, pure as jade, cute as snow, as if a lovely little fairy had stepped out from a painting. The Phoenix clan, once transformed into humans, were naturally handsome men and beautiful women, and the Phoenix Dragon Beast, having inherited these Six Great Legacies, now had a human appearance that naturally made Su Yu and the others feel as if they were encountering a celestial being.
What most caught the attention of Su Yu and the others was that upon transforming into human form, the Phoenix Dragon Beast had six fine lines in its glabella, resembling tiny Crystal Cores of different colors. Su Yu and the others speculated that these six lines were related to the six bloodlines the Phoenix Dragon Beast now carried.
"Phoenix Dragon Beast, no, now that you’ve become such a beautiful girl, it’s no longer fitting to call you Phoenix Dragon Beast. You need a name." Ma Ziye saw how beautiful the Phoenix Dragon Beast had become and felt overjoyed. She walked over, looked at the adorable face of the Phoenix Dragon Beast, and even she, a woman, was somewhat mesmerized by the sight.
The Yellow-robed Elder nodded and said, "Indeed, but her mother should be the one to name her."
Qingluan, still afflicted by an evil curse and bound in chains, lowered her eyes slightly and looked at the little girl the Phoenix Dragon Beast had turned into. Her eyes were filled with tenderness. After some thought, she said, "In my Phoenix Clan, males are known as Feng and females are Huang. Child, you shall take the name Huang... "
Wu Yu said, "Qingluan, I think she should take your surname and be named Huang. How about Qing Huang?"
Qingluan smiled at the Phoenix Dragon Beast and asked, "Child, what do you think of the name Qing Huang?"
The Phoenix Dragon Beast had heard the stories about Wu Yu and Qingluan. Although Wu Yu wasn’t her father, he had treated her like a loving father would treat his own child throughout these days. She was moved and thought about how the name Qing Huang was chosen by both Wu Yu and Qingluan. A surge of unspeakable emotion welled up in her heart. Unconsciously, she wondered, if she were the child of Wu Yu and Qingluan, if it hadn’t been for the disgraceful acts of the Dragon Clan along the way, how many less tragedies there would have been afterwards.
The Phoenix Dragon Beast had been exiled since she was young, and the suffering she endured was beyond what ordinary people could imagine.
"Hmm, from today onwards, I’ll be called Qing Huang. Hey, Su Yu, I have a name too," the Phoenix Dragon Beast, no, now she should be called Qing Huang, exclaimed excitedly.
"Qing Huang, congratulations," Su Yu took a step forward, smiled and opened his arms wide. "Come here, I don’t have any gifts to give you, so let me give you a warm hug instead."
Qing Huang gave him the middle finger and snorted lightly, wrinkling her nose. "I don’t want it. Don’t think I don’t understand, you’re just trying to take advantage of me."
Su Yu was initially stunned and then burst out laughing. Ma Ziye gave Su Yu a look, thinking it was rare to see Su Yu in a good mood, joking around with Qing Huang. Such opportunities were not common.
Su Yu thought the little girl the Phoenix Dragon Beast had turned into was incredibly cute, so he teased her on a whim. But after the joke was made, he suddenly became aware that several cold gazes were fixed on him. Looking up, he realized that Wu Yu, the Yellow-robed Elder, and others were all looking at him somewhat nervously.
After a while, the Yellow-robed Elder forced out a sentence, "Humans and our Phoenix Clan shouldn’t mix, otherwise, the bloodlines will be thrown into chaos. Su Yu, you’d better not have designs on Qing Huang."
Dizzy, Su Yu almost choked, a streak of black crossing his forehead. Now that the Yellow-robed Elder had put it so bluntly, he felt rather embarrassed. On the side, Ma Ziye snickered, enjoying the sight of Su Yu’s discomfort. In her opinion, Su Yu was usually too collected, sometimes to the point of being distant, and it was only in moments like this that Su Yu seemed more relatable. Ma Ziye very much liked this side of him.
After the Yellow-robed Elder finished speaking, Qing Huang became curious and asked, "Why can’t humans and our Phoenix Clan mix? What does it mean to get the bloodlines mixed up?"
Qing Huang didn’t understand, so the Yellow-robed Elder explained patiently, "While you can now take on human form and, theoretically, could indeed mix with humans physiologically, essentially, the union between humans and our Phoenix would be a beastly match... it would be... it would be against the natural order. Any offspring that result would naturally be of mixed bloodline."
After the Yellow-robed Elder had finished speaking, a blush colored Ma Ziye’s pretty face, and she thought to herself how the old man had no filter, saying anything that came to mind. Meanwhile, Qing Huang looked like she half understood, nodding before responding, "Don’t worry, I’m not interested in Su Yu at all. Just look at Su Yu, he doesn’t meet my standards. I like the handsome types, who are a bit cool and ideally have a slightly devilish smile. Su Yu is nowhere near the mark." (To be continued.
