Chapter 770: Chapter 588: Bullying the Newcomer
Su Yu and Qin Jiagui slowly moved to the rear of the hundred-man queue. In the hall ahead, a long table was placed, behind which sat a man in a silver hat. The members of the group individually approached the table, got a silver badge pinned on them, and were then led into the corridor behind the hall.
When it was Su Yu’s turn, he was also pinned with a round silver badge, inscribed with the numbers "1206". The man in the silver hat behind the table then calmly ordered, "Inmate number 1206, to Prison No.5."
Following him, Qin Jiagui received a silver badge engraved with the number "1207". The group of hundreds proceeded through the grand hall and into a lengthy corridor. Behind them, with a thunderous rumble, a massive metal door lifted. Both sides of this infinite and eerie corridor were lined with staggeringly large doors, made from silver columns. Each silver door was fitted with a round silver badge, inscribed with numbers like "1", "2".
At the moment, the insides of the silver door rooms were packed with people wearing silver badges, their faces full of strange smiles as they appraised the newcomers.
The men with the silver hats and silver chains on the sides were opening these silver doors one after another. Occasionally, people were ordered to enter these silver doors. With vigilant expressions, they constantly berated the crowds gathering behind the doors to disperse.
When they passed the door marked with the number "5", the line stopped again, and one man loudly read, "Inmate number 1178, 1192, 1206, you three, step forward."
Upon hearing the number ’1206,’ Su Yu remembered that this number was on the silver badge he’d been given. He stepped forward along with a humanoid lion with facial scars, and another man who was so thin he almost looked like a bamboo stick. This man appeared to be around thirty and his expression was rather odd.
"You three will be assigned to Prison No.5."
A man with a silver hat pushed open the silver door bearing the number five. The crowd that was previously gathered at the door scattered. This man unshackled the lion man’s wrists. The lion man stretched his arms, making a creaking sound, a trace of ferocity appeared on his scarred face. He then entered prison No.5 through the silver door.
Next, the bamboo-like man also followed him in, extending his hands for the silver hat man to unlock his shackles. But shackles bound to their feet were not removed. After being shackled, their feet felt incredibly heavy, so, even with all their strength, they couldn’t move faster than ordinary people. The chances of escaping without first breaking these shackles were extremely low.
After both the lion man and the bamboo-like man had entered, Su Yu understood that he was being assigned to stay here in "Prison No.5," unlike Qin Jiagui who seemed to be allocated a room somewhere else.
Bearing in mind Qin Jiagui’s bizarre evolution and the mysterious powers of the "7" seed inside him, and considering the strict management regime in the "Sky Prison," Su Yu believed that nothing would likely go wrong. He then stepped forward, had the cuffs on his hands undone by the silver hat man, then walked into Prison No.5, feeling relieved as if a burden had been lifted off his shoulders.
Afterward, the silver hat man slammed the door to Prison No.5 shut and yelled inside, "Keep your distance! Whoever leads the trouble, I will let him taste the feeling of ten shackles!"
Looking somewhat displeased, Qin Jiagui spoke up, "Wait, why am I not confined with Su Yu?"
The silver hat man gave him a cold look, checked his record, and said: "Inmate number 1207, you are assigned to Prison No.18. As long as you are in the ’Sky Prison,’ it doesn’t matter whether you live together or not. Hurry up and move!" A few men over on his side have already raised their silver chains, urging Qin Jiagui and others to move quickly.
Su Yu stood against the silver door, observing the scene. Seeing the slight panic on Su Yu’s face, Qin Jiagui gave him a reassuring smile and a shake of his head, indicating to him that nothing was going to happen. Yet, he couldn’t help but frown, wondering why Qin Jiagui suddenly seemed so overly defensive and unconfident.
The men with the silver chains and hats moved Qin Jiagui and others deeper into the corridor. A number of men were assigned to each prison. The party of more than a hundred was distributed into several dozen prisons, with Su Yu assigned to "Prison No.5," and Qin Jiagui to "Prison No.18."
After the silver hat men distributed everyone across various prisons, they left through the long corridor. The final "rumble" sound echoed as they sealed off the corridor with a sturdy metal door. The door was marked with flashing charms, containing a terrifying energy fluctuation, making it nearly impossible to breach.
The corridor suddenly fell silent, as Su Yu turned around to notice that Prison No.5 was exceedingly long with a depth of at least a hundred meters and a width of over thirty meters. There were four rows of rudimentary iron bunk beds, enough to accommodate four to five hundred people. However, the current number of inmates was far fewer, with only about a hundred. Su Yu estimated that nearly half of them looked like ordinary humans like himself, while the rest belonged to various other races, including the three-eyed tribespeople, the lion-headed people, minotaurs, and so on, each as distinct as the next.
At that moment, about twenty individuals had gathered around Su Yu, the scar-faced lion-headed man, and a thin, reedy man; they stood in a half-circle, watching them. The remaining eighty-odd individuals were scattered around the place. Among them was a man with long hair that fell over his shoulders; he wore only a pair of boxer shorts, his bare upper body and legs adorned with thick black body hair. A cigarette hung from his mouth, and he seemed to revel in his comfort as he lay sprawled on his bunk while two other men, wearing expressions of servility, massaged his shoulders and thighs.
Beside him, a group of almost a dozen men stood tall; their formidable expressions radiating a brutal, menacing aura, as if none of them were to be messed with.
Upon entering the prison, Su Yu detected the overwhelming smell of human feces and urine, causing him to wince involuntarily. It was unexpected that over a hundred inmates lived within Prison No.5. Fortunately, the place was vast enough to provide him sufficient space to cultivate and absorb the "Dark Heart" without excessive disturbance, or so he hoped.
Those twenty or so individuals who stood nearby watched Su Yu, the lion-headed man, and the gaunt man with a facade that tread the line between amusement and displeasure. They exchanged whispers, their gazes provocative. However, they did not make any unusual moves until the corridor’s guards, the men with rounded hats and silver chains, left the corridor and closed the metal door behind them. Immediately, roars of laughter rang throughout the room.
"Boss, we’ve got some newcomers. And would you believe one of them is a Seventh Order Bronze Warrior? Ha! Isn’t this quite intriguing?"
The twenty individuals surrounding Su Yu, the lion-headed man, and the thin man, displayed expressions that belied their amusement. The scar-faced lion-headed man, nevertheless, wore a fierce expression and squared his gaze on the party before proceeding to approach them.
One of the men scoffed, "Oh, look at this tough little guy." The group effectively blocked the lion-headed man’s path, and suddenly from another direction, a raspy voice spoke, "Ah Kuang, he’s one of our own. You cannot bully him."
With the echo of that voice, a group of lion-headed and minotaur men that had gathered on the other side rose to their feet.
In this place dubbed Sky Prison, humans were in the majority while the less common lion-headed men and minotaurs formed their own alliance, creating a formidable subgroup. Ah Kuang, a robust man who stood about 1.9 meters tall, stood at the center of the twenty bucketing men. He was one of several gang leaders in Prison No.5, with tremendous power at his disposal. The lot that he led preferred to oppress newcomers more than any other group in Prison No.5.
Seeing the lion-headed and minotaur men rise, Ah Kuang could not suppress an uncouth grin. "I have no interest in your lion-heads or bull-heads. F*ck off." His men parted to let the scar-faced lion-headed man pass.
Although Ah Kuang was arrogant, he was not stupid; it wasn’t worth the hassle to antagonize this group of lion-headed and minotaur men over a dangerous-looking newcomer like the scar-faced lion-headed man.
However, to everyone’s surprise, the scar-faced lion-headed man suddenly turned and sent a punch flying right into Ah Kuang’s face as he passed by him.
Even Ah Kuang was caught off guard. The force of the punch was astounding; Ah Kuang grunted and instantly, blood spurted from his nose and mouth. His large frame, along with the silver shackles on his feet, barreled forward, collapsing a bed with a loud crash.
Simultaneously, sounds of fighting and screams echoed from the neighboring prison cells. It seemed that conflicts weren’t limited to Cell No.5.
The unexpected assault from the scar-faced lion-headed man shocked everyone. Several of the men nearby who had initially recoiled in shock pounced on him. The other group of lion-headed and minotaur men were similarly stunned. None of them had expected the newcomer to be this belligerent and daring.
"Bastard - learn this, I’m the boss outside, and I am the boss still in here. Dare to talk to me in such a tone? Let this be a reminder, from now on, I’m the boss in Prison No.5 and my word is law," the scar-faced lion-headed man roared as he swung a pair of fists, instantly transforming them into lion-like claws. With two swift blows, three people were immediately wounded and thrown back by the force. In quick succession, three or four beds collapsed. The rest of the people in the prison hesitated before they began to stand. Prison No.5 was divided into five major power groups, consisting of more than eighty individuals. The remaining twenty-plus were not affiliated with any group and were generally the weaker ones, easily bullied.(to be continued, please visit www.qidian.com to know what happened next, more exciting Chapters, support the author, support legitimate reading!)
