Chapter 608: Chapter 467: Overwhelming Blood Wing (6th update)_2
One stab after another, like lurid flames from a whip, suddenly thrashed out with intensity. Zhang Zhongmou grunted as rocks on his body were swiftly shattered. Finally, he could not withstand any longer and lost to Ouyang Nuo in a deplorable state.
Although Ouyang Nuo defeated Zhang Zhongmou, there was no joy on his face. Instead, he nodded, saying, "Good job, young man. You’ve reached the peak of the Seventh Order. With another step, you can reach the ’Nirvana’ stage, just like me. I was forced to use the stabbing power of the ’Nirvana’ stage to take the upper-hand." Ouyang Nuo retracted the power of his Flame Golden Bone, walked over, and hoisted Zhang Zhongmou off the ground, sighing as he did so. The speed at which Zhang Zhongmou had grown was beyond his expectations.
Zhang Zhongmou stood up, chuckling dryly. He had honestly believed he could best Ouyang Nuo, but even though he had reached the peak of the Seventh Order, Ouyang Nuo had taken another step forward, entering the realm of "Nirvana" between the Seventh Order peak and the Eighth Stage. From this "Nirvana" stage, it was one more step to achieve the true "Eighth Stage Black Iron Warrior" realm. The Eighth Stage, in this world, was an extremely rare accomplishment. It symbolized a complete rebirth and represented the potential to challenge the apex of this world and even tread beyond it.
"City Lord?" After witnessing the conclusion of the battle between Ouyang Nuo and Zhang Zhongmou, someone turned around and was astounded to see Su Yu standing behind the crowd. Taking notice of Su Yu, everyone bowed to him in respect.
Zhang Zhongmou was instantly overjoyed and called out: "Young Yu?" He hurried over.
"Young Yu, do you know? I’ve finally reached the peak of the Seventh Order." Zhang Zhongmou was overjoyed. Su Yu smilingly nodded, "I’d just noticed. Good job, old Zhongmou." Su Yu smiled and gave him a light punch.
Zhang Zhongmou’s face lit up with a grin radiant than if he had eaten a ginseng fruit, upon receiving Su Yu’s compliment.
Ouyang Nuo also walked over and said to Su Yu: "City Lord, I’ve finally realized the ’Nirvana’ stage you spoke of. Henceforth, any gains I make will be thanks to you." He then looked closely at Su Yu.
At present, Su Yu seemed ordinary and lacked any hint of power. However, this was precisely the inscrutable aura often found in legends.
Ouyang Nuo was shocked and uncertain, doubting whether Su Yu had taken the final step, but he couldn’t be completely sure.
Observing the puzzled expression on Ouyang Nuo’s face, Su Yu just smiled, patted Ouyang Nuo on the shoulder, turned and walked towards the grand hall. Meanwhile, he asked, "By the way, everything has been alright in the Black Iron City while I was away these twenty days, hasn’t it?"
Upon hearing of Su Yu’s return, both the second Vice City Lord Jiang Hai and third Vice City Lord Jin Fuhua had already come to greet him. There was no surprise on their faces when they saw the little girl Feng’er, assuming she was an orphan Su Yu had adopted during his travels. However, the wooden man was different. Like a normal human head on a wooden body, his appearance was indescribable. More so as this wooden man was alive.
"This is my city, Wood. How do you like it?" Su Yu asked the wooden man with a smile. The wooden man glances left and right, then giggles, "Not bad, not bad. It’s passable to live in, mainly because it’s lively here. As an old folk, I fear loneliness the most."
The crowd exchanged glances, pondering the origins of this peculiar wooden man who dared to refer to himself as ’old folk’ in front of them. His audacity was immense.
At this point, Jiang Hai had already instructed for a grand banquet to be prepared that night in celebration of the city lord’s return.
"By the way, old Zhongmou, where are Su Yun and Ziye now? And how is Jiagui doing?"
Zhang Zhongmou chuckled, "After you left, Su Yun was really upset with you and kept saying she wanted to settle scores with you when you came back. I think they are at the Undead Remains now. Everyone’s been working hard these days. You’re now inching towards the Eighth Stage, and we can’t fall too far behind. So we’re all striving hard, as for Jiagui...he’s been locked in his room these days, not allowing anyone in. We’re all quite worried about him, we don’t know how he’s doing."
Upon mentioning Qin Jiagui, everyone wore a look of concern.
Clearly, Yuan Niping’s departure was a blow to him beyond imagination.
Su Yu nodded slightly and thought for a moment before saying to Jin Fuhua, "Arrange accommodation for them, and as for Qin Jiagui, I’ll go see him now." As he spoke, he gestured to Feng’er and the wooden man and then strode towards the palace where Qin Jiagui stayed. He had not seen Qin Jiagui for over twenty days and indeed he was somewhat worried about him.
With Yuan Niping’s departure and the taboo enforced by the Black Iron Guardian, Su Yu didn’t know how Qin Jiagui had managed to survive these days. He was considering whether to forcibly take Qin Jiagui to the "Demonic Forest" to search for the "Tears of Timis".
Zhang Zhongmou accompanied him to the entrance of the palace where Qin Jiagui resided. Su Yu suddenly stopped, his brow furrowed slightly. Despite the distance, he could distinctly sense the overwhelming heat emanating from within the palace. This was anything but normal.
Zhang Zhongmou said with a wry smile, "No one really knows what he’s up to. In the recent nights, there’s been some kind of commotion from time to time. As soon as you approach his palace, the heat becomes intolerable. Currently, nobody knows what he’s doing in there, and we can’t go in at all."
Su Yu uttered a word of acknowledgement and looked around before saying, "You guys wait here. I’ll go in and have a look." With every step he took towards the palace, the palpable heat in the air intensified. By the time he reached the entrance of the palace, Su Yu had to manifest black scales all over his body and activate his "Armor" defense skill.
Despite his Eighth Stage Realm mastery, he felt the scorching heat unbearable upon reaching this point. No wonder nobody else dared to approach the palace, and nobody knew what had happened to Qin Jiagui in there over the past few days.
With a light creak, Su Yu finally pushed open the large doors of the palace gently, while outside, Zhang Zhongmou and the others could only watch from a distance because the heat was simply unbearable. Even the level 7 peak experts found it hard to endure.
Upon opening the door and stepping inside, Su Yu found a fiery blood cocoon placed quietly in the palace. The terrifying heat released came exactly from this blood cocoon.
Other than the blood cocoon, Qin Jiagui was nowhere in sight. The furniture and decorations inside the palace had long since melted into ashes. The palace was on the brink of collapse and probably wouldn’t last long before it completely broke down and turned into a pile of flying ash.
The heat felt like the sun’s, and Su Yu had to activate his Eighth Stage Realm Gasification Mysterious Power to withstand it.
Upon the blood cocoon, one could faintly see reddish feathers appearing. If this blood cocoon indeed transformed from feathers, then where was Qin Jiagui? Was he inside...
A chill ran down Su Yu’s spine at the strange sight, and Ada on his shoulder whispered, "Su Yu, wake him up. If he continues like this, I’m afraid... he will fall...."
Su Yu hummed in agreement and gathered his energy to shout towards the blood cocoon, "Qin Jiagui, wake up—!" His voice reverberated like thunder, aiming entirely at the cocoon which shivered slightly. Then a rustling sound emanated from it, and the feathers started to lift.
A terrifying wave of heat swept towards him, forcing Su Yu to retreat continuously. Soon, the blood cocoon transformed, and a pair of gigantic wings that towered into the sky unfurled.
Each feather was fiery red, and the blood wings overshadowed the sky. A terrifying surge of energy filled the sky, and a pair of dreadful blood-red eyes opened, instantly locking onto Su Yu.
Death was looming. (To be continued. If you want to know what happens next, please log on to www.qidian.com. More Chapters are available there. Support the author and original reading!)
