Chapter 603: Chapter 464: Summoning the Existence Beyond the World (3rd Update) -2
Originally, Su Yu intended to immerse the little girl Feng’er, who was only four or five years old, in the "Tears of Timis". However, he then thought about the Demon God that slumbered within her and wasn’t sure whether its power would conflict with the Tears of Timis. To avoid any missteps, he dismissed the idea and suspended his thoughts.
The wooden figure sat by the Heavenly Pond, gazing up at the Tears of Timis flowing down from the dense fog, murmuring unintelligible words to himself. For once, there was a melancholic expression etched on his face.
Seeing him, Su Yu felt a peculiar sensation. This wooden man, usually sporting a playful smirk and showing irreverence to everyone, would reveal such a sorrowful look only when he heard the name or mentioned anything about Timis. It gave people an elusive notion of his untold past, of a relationship he might have once had with Timis, given his seal beneath the Shrine dedicated to her. What kind of connection did they have?
Moving on from Su Yu and the others waiting for the "Black Iron Guardian" Beth Finley’s restriction to trigger again come nightfall, let’s discuss the white-clothed woman who took the little boy away from here using a teleportation scroll.
With a flash of white light, the woman, holding the young boy’s hand, appeared before a row of stone huts.
The huts were spartan and desolate. Upon their arrival, the woman couldn’t hold back her emotions. She suddenly burst into tears, hugging the little boy.
"Wuer, I’ve wronged you and ruined your great undertaking. Had I known earlier, I would have swallowed my pride and asked for your uncle’s help. If I hadn’t brought you alone today, unprotected, your mind wouldn’t be rattled, leading to this total failure. Wuer, I’ve let you down," she sobbed.
The young boy hurriedly hugged the white-clothed woman back and reassured her, "Mom, don’t be sad. Wuer is fine. So what if I lost my Indestructible Body? I am bound to step out of this world. Once I do, the Indestructible Body will yield no effects."
Gazing affectionately at the boy, the woman sighed, "Wuer, the Indestructible Body guarantees your safe growth as long as you remain in this world, protecting you from harm... Alas..." Just as she was about to finish her sentence, she suddenly stood up in bitter resentment. "Those little beasts ruined your big plan. If I don’t avenge this, I can’t call myself human."
The young boy shook his head, "Mom, let it be. It’s my fate. Losing the Indestructible Body might not necessarily be a bad thing. An added sense of danger might expedite my evolution. If it is a vendetta, Wuer would rather settle it personally in the future. Don’t worry about me, Mom."
At the innocent remarks of the boy, a smile managed to surface on the woman’s face. She gently patted his head and said, "It’s good that you have such spirit, Wuer."
The little boy continued, "Mom, that wooden figure with a human face was really strange. It seemed he was even faster than you."
"Hmm... That creature was indeed strange. Even I have never seen anything like it. Train well here, Wuer, and try to ascend to the Seventh Order as soon as possible. I will leave for a while," the white-clothed woman finished, and the obedient boy nodded his understanding. He then walked into the stone hut facing him. As the woman tossed several scrolls, light barriers emerged from the scrolls and enveloped the entire stone hut. Only then did she cast another teleportation scroll and vanish from the spot. When she reappeared, she was already standing before a somewhat dilapidated ancient temple.
The ancient temple appeared to have withstood the test of time and was now in a state of disrepair. It was barely possible to glimpse its former glory.
Gazing at the dilapidated ancient temple, the white-clothed woman murmured pensively, "Past glory that’s fleeting and ephemeral. Aztec’s White Tiger, for this enduring hatred of the Blood Sea, we will invariably seek retribution."
As she murmured, she stepped into the broken temple. The temple was gloomy and solemn inside, accented by multiple spirit tablets in the front which made for a deeply unsettling sight.
Each spirit tablet represented a life that had ceased to exist. As the white-clothed woman knelt down in front of them, her expression turned incredibly somber. She clasped her hands together and mumbled, "Respected ancestors, we never dared to forget the deep-seated grudge against the Aztecs. Yet, the hope I placed in Wuer, who I entrusted everything to, cannot achieve the Indestructible Body... all because of my incompetence... The ones who reached the Demonic Forest and the Heavenly Pond must be the Aztec’s White Tiger... I cannot stomach this humiliation... The one and only opportunity he left me..." Her voice trailed off as she slowly took out an object from her clothes.
Strangely, it was a hairpin in the shape of a phoenix.
As she beheld the phoenix hairpin, the white-clothed woman seemed to drift off to another world. She muttered, "This phoenix bell was the token of love he gave me. Despite knowing that I was pregnant, he resolutely left this world. Although I understand his desperation to take revenge, I have resented him over these years... However, before leaving, he put a strand of his will into this hairpin... I have never used this phoenix hairpin over the years... Now, for Wuer’s sake... If it were for my humiliation, I can bear it. But, my Wuer, he can never suffer this humiliation."
