Chapter 479: Chapter 373 Heading to Peach Blossom Town (Fifth Update)

Ada’s words were not untrue. At first, Su Yu felt nothing, but as he continued, he began to notice a subtle difference. He could vaguely sense a mysterious energy attaching itself to his skull, causing a certain change in the bone. Although the transformation was faint, he believed that if he continued, he would eventually achieve a major transformation and gain divine bones.

The short seven-day trial ended quickly. When Su Yu found Zhang Zhongmou and the others, he found that although they all looked haggard, they were all brimming with energy and seemed much improved. The ones with the most notable progress were Zhang Zhongmou, Ma Ziye, Ren Honglin, Murong Dingyuan, and Ruan Minghong.

Having already possessed great power, all Zhang Zhongmou needed was a bit more training. Now that he had the chance, his power skyrocketed. Ma Ziye and Ren Honglin had distinctive perceptions even before drinking the Water of the Netherworld, ingesting it naturally enhanced their abilities. As for Murong Dingyuan and Ruan Minghong, they were experienced level-five fighters. After drinking the Water of the Netherworld, their powers experienced significant growth, which could be expected.

In Su Yu’s estimate, Murong Dingyuan was now close to the strength of the peak of Level Five. Ma Ziye, Ren Honglin, and Ruan Minghong were somewhere between intermediate and advanced levels. As for Zhang Zhongmou, he finally reached the realm of a true Sixth-order beginner powerhouse, just enough to contend with other Sixth-order beginners. The trial had been incredibly effective.

When they reached the second level and finally gathered the original nine teams together after considerable effort, they found that they were missing five people. Clearly, the harsh trial of these seven days had claimed five lives, even in the second level space.

However, the cost of losing five people was offset by the overall improvement in the ability of the remaining eighty or so level-five fighters. Many of the smaller teams had even figured out how to combine their powers, which significantly increased their collective strength.

Seeing this, Su Yu nodded to himself. He was very satisfied with the effects of the training. These nearly one hundred fighters were no longer just outwardly powerful but hollow inside. They were now real Level Five fighters who had been through rigorous training, and this training would continue. Given continued training, he knew some of them would eventually become even more powerful, reaching the Sixth-order.

Upon returning to Freedom Village, everyone took a full day to rest. According to Lei Rui, Meng Ting and a few others had returned a couple of days ago. After drinking the Water of the Netherworld, Meng Ting finally broke through, and then they went back to the Type-6 Space for more training.

This surprised Su Yu — he hadn’t expected Meng Ting to be working so hard.

Meng Ting used to spend most of her energy managing and developing Freedom Village. Now that she no longer needs to manage the village, she can devote all her energy to training, and she’s making remarkable progress.

Meng Ting’s primordial beast is of Light Attribute, so training in the Light Elemental Space gives her double the results. Su Yu surmised that her strength would skyrocket. Her previously insurmountable Level Five hurdle had finally been surmounted, thanks to the Water of the Netherworld. He could only hope that she wouldn’t make any more mistakes in the future.

With a sigh, Su Yu set Meng Ting’s affairs aside. Now, there were over a hundred Level Five fighters in Freedom Village, making Meng Ting’s line look like a single mulberry tree in the ocean, their influence drastically diminished.

The training plan for those hundred-plus level-five fighters would continue, but Su Yu left it in the hands of others. The destination was now the Demon Beast Mountain Range. As for Su Yu, after discussing it with Qin Jiagui, he decided to visit Peach Blossom Town.

With the growing strength of Freedom Village, there was increasingly more stuff they needed to buy. To purchase the machine needed to refine gold ore, they had to go to Peach Blossom Town. Qin Jiagui had been planning to go there for a while but had put it off because of everyone’s training.

Although Qin Jiagui wanted to train incessantly like everyone else, there were still many things in Freedom Village that needed his attention, which left him quite helpless.

Su Yu asked Ma Ziye about the financial situation of Freedom Village and found that they only had forty or so Day Coins stored, which greatly upset him.

They needed a hundred Day Coins to provide the life energy needed to summon the Demon Divine Beast for just one minute. Right now, the entire wealth of Freedom Village wasn’t even enough to summon the beast for half a minute.

Furthermore, these "Day Coins" could be used to purchase various necessities, thus they were quite scarce. Su Yu dismissed his intention of spending Day Coins here and shifted his attention to the "Life Ore" he found that day. After consultation with Ada, he realized that all of the machines they needed to buy were strictly limited. Unless they purchased small, scattered parts to assemble the machine themselves, they might avoid attracting attention.

As for these parts, even Ada was not completely familiar with them. To say the least, getting such a machine would be highly troublesome.

There was another reason Su Yu set out for "Peach Blossom Town." That was simply to check out what a so-called town village was like. He heard from Lei Rui that there was a market in "Peach Blossom Town" where everything and anything could be found, which peaked his curiosity.

Once Su Yu announced his plan to head to "Peach Blossom Town," Zhang Zhongmou, Ma Ziye, Su Yun, Kou Xiaowei, and others decided to accompany him. Since Qin Jiagui had to manage the daily affairs of "Freedom Village," not being able to head out, he transferred all his responsibilities to Lei Rui. The main reason for this trip was to purchase machinery for refining gold ore, as well as some other necessities.

The final lineup consisted of Su Yu, Su Yun, Zhang Zhongmou, Ma Ziye, Lei Rui, Zhou Birong, Kou Xiaowei, Gu Lingshuang, Ren Honglin, along with twenty-five others, as well as Duoduo who couldn’t be left behind no matter what. All of them driving five horse carts, with Zhang Zhongmou riding his own "Black Horse King," set off from "Freedom Village" grandiosely, heading south to "Peach Blossom Town."

At this moment, Su Yu noticed many valuable furs from rare animals and other similar items stacked atop the horse carts. These were all things they were planning to sell once they arrived at "Peach Blossom Town."

Su Yu sat in one of the horse carts, carrying his bag on his back, which contained the precious "Netherworld Skull." Where he went, the skull followed. Ada was lying on his shoulder. Ma Ziye, Su Yun and Lei Rui sat next to him, chattering away. They had been to "Peach Blossom Town" before and were now explaining this place to an intrigued Su Yu, who had never visited the town before.

Lei Rui smiled, saying, "After we arrive at ’Peach Blossom Town,’ I will take everybody to the marketplace to sell these items first. Then we will head to the ’Machinery Workshop’ to pick up the gold ore refining machine that we booked last time. Su Yun, you can take Su Yu around for a stroll, and we will meet back at the ’North Gate.’ What do you say?"

"Alright." Ma Ziye nodded her head, the group agreed on the meeting time and spot. As everyone’s objectives for visiting "Peach Blossom Town" were a little different, they may wander off separately once there. As for Su Yu, he merely wanted to check out the market for things he might have liked and have a look around. There was no other reason that was more significant. However, for Lei Rui and others, the main aim was to collect the pre-booked gold ore refining machine and sell off the valuable furs en route.

"Peach Blossom Town" was not too far away from "Freedom Village." Given Su Yu’s current pace, a round-trip could be completed within a day. But because the horse carts led by the horned demon horse were rather heavy, they didn’t travel fast. Hence, the group, driving five horse carts, did not manage to reach "Peach Blossom Town" until sunrise the following day.

The location of "Peach Blossom Town" was an intersection of several roads, stretching several kilometers in all directions. It seemed like a small city-like area. Although there weren’t many grand buildings in the town, the huddled houses presented a bustling crowd. The town housed around two thousand regular residents and when including temporary dwellers, the number exceeded three thousand. It was the most thriving and significant trading center in the area.

The various small villages within a radius of thousands of kilometers, those looking to purchase or sell things, would come to "Peach Blossom Town." Considering the number of villages within such a large area, it was no wonder "Peach Blossom Town" was quite lively and prosperous.

When Su Yu’s grand party arrived, they were faced with two large gates, each ten meters in width. The words "Peach Blossom Town" were written on the sides. Over each entrance and exit, the words ’entrance’ and ’exit’ were hung. A group of men dressed in identical uniforms holding iron weapons were stationed at the gate, with another group registering and recording people at the side. They observed those entering and exiting but didn’t inspect the people or their goods. But, everyone who entered needed to pay a ’town-entry’ fee of one Time Coin. The daily income from this alone was astonishing.

Su Yu nodded quietly. From this alone, the daily income of "Peach Blossom Town" was indeed substantial.

When it was their turn, the group, with twenty-five individuals, paid a total of twenty-five Time Coins and then were granted permission to enter the town.

Upon entering, they were greeted by a long stone road, nearly twenty meters in width, wide enough to accommodate several horse carts running parallel to each other. Buildings towered on either side of the stone road. The buildings weren’t grand but they stood closely packed together, forming a bustling and spectacular sight.

At the end of the stone road stood a huge wooden board, covered with numerous pieces of paper. From Lei Rui’s introduction, Su Yu learned that these sheets of paper bore all sorts of news and messages for the day. They could be bounty notices, lost item notices, or ads for the buying and selling of rare items. At that moment, many people were gathered around the board, reading the notices (To be continued.
