Chapter 365: Chapter 289: Golden Bread (2 more updates, asking for monthly tickets)

Ada shook his head, seemingly disinclined to respond and appearing somewhat listless.

Su Yu explained, "The place you were teleported into The Sixth Space is typically where you return to. It’s good that you’re thinking, Old Zhongmou, and your idea isn’t bad, but, unfortunately, it’s not feasible."

Zhang Zhongmou chuckled a couple of times.

Qin Jiagui produced a small Light Sphere and handed it to Su Yu, saying, "This is a treasure from inside the golden creature you killed. Only you can unlock it."

Su Yu accepted it and lightly applied power, promptly crushing the Light Sphere. In his palm appeared a golden seed. He activated the Perception Eye, and the information it captured made Su Yu pause. He had not speculated that the treasure from within the golden beast would be a seed.

Name: Golden Bread Seed. When irrigated with gold ore, it grows into a Golden Bread Tree, which produces Golden Bread all year round.

A previously languid Ada perked up slightly, sounding a little surprised, "It’s a Golden Bread Seed? This is a good thing that can produce Golden Bread. A small piece of Golden Bread can fill the stomach to satisfaction, and you won’t feel hungry for days. A single piece can support a person for many days. It’s one of the most convenient foods for survival in the wild. Moreover, if there is an abundance of Golden Bread, the ’Golden Juice’ can be extracted from it. That ’Golden Juice’ has many functions. In any case, the worth of this Golden Bread Seed could be much more than ordinary Treasure Weapons."

Hearing Ada describe it this way, Su Yu carefully stored the Golden Bread Seed. Planting it would have to wait until they returned to Freedom Village.

They stayed there to rest overnight, and no eventualities transpired during the night. But they could faintly hear the mournful roars of creatures from afar, Su Yu felt much better after a night’s rest. At least his orifices were not oozing blood intermittently. By his estimation, he would recover in a day or two. The penalty of the Power of Rules was indeed terrifying. Although he was not completely recovered, it did not affect his ability to travel.

They extinguished the fire at the camp’s center, and the group of eleven started following the direction Ada pointed to. They moved into the Newbie Forest. There was Sixth-Order Su Yu, Fifth Order Ruan Minghong, and Murong Dingyuan, with everyone else being Fourth Order. They set their sights on their target, carried their packs, and exhibited their respective special powers. Their pace was not comparable to that of the past, at least ten times faster than an ordinary person’s travel speed.

Even girls like Su Yun, Lei Rui, and Yuan Niping could just lightly jump, and their bodies would dart forward. The whistling sounds continuously echoed, and in the blink of an eye, they were tens of meters away.

Watching the surrounding trees zoom past at high-speed, Zhang Zhongmou laughed, "Damn, being Fourth Order is really something. With this speed, we will quickly reach our old school."

The group dashed into the forest at a remarkable speed, frightening the hidden beasts, but none of the creatures dared to attack them.

These beast soldiers seemed to sense the terror and strength of the group and wisely didn’t rashly rush forward to their deaths.

In just half a day, the group had covered dozens of miles. As they penetrated deeper into the lush forest filled with intertwined vines, their progress slowed down significantly.

Zhao Shichang gave a light shout, and with a wave of both hands, two bone daggers appeared. The current Zhao Shichang was a Fourth Order Black Iron Warrior, with both hands capable of mutating into large bone daggers. With the bone daggers, he chopped down the trees and cut through the vines rapidly.

Ruan Minghong said, "This is still too slow. With our current skill, there is no need." While saying this, she leaped, pulled a branch, pushed herself off the tree trunk and ejected into the air, quickly landing on another large tree. She turned to others and said, "This allows us to easily avoid these vines. If we clear the vines all the way, we will slow down a lot."

Others admired Ruan Minghong’s skills and became interested. Zhang Zhongmou laughed, "Good idea," put his Red Lotus Sword into his Treasure Bracelet and shot towards a large tree, quickly reaching two meters high. He launched himself off a branch and propelled forward.

"Ahhhh—" Zhang Zhongmou hollered like Tarzan of the Apes in the film, swinging through the air. He soared several meters and landed on another large tree, grabbing a vine. He laughed excitedly, "This is fun. It’s not bad to travel this way."

Following Zhang Zhongmou’s attempt, others started imitating him. Especially Sixth-Order powerhouse Su Yu, who could jump directly from one large tree to another, moving faster than everyone else despite his injuries.

Using the dense trees and knotted vines, they hopped and swung to speed up again, startling many low-level beasts from their hiding places as they moved agilely through the towering trees and thick forest.

That day, they covered, at a minimum, a few hundred kilometers. All around them were towering trees with their repetitive silhouette, patches of weeds, and shrubbery. During this journey, they encountered many different beasts, amongst which, most were species that Su Yu and the others had never come across before.

Apart from various low-level beasts, they also encountered a seven-man human team. The majority of the team were Second and Third-Level Black Iron Warriors. When Qin Jiagui spotted them from afar, he jumped straight in front of them, which scared them and they immediately took up a fighting stance.

"Let’s go, Old Qin," Zhang Zhongmou yelled, making a leap and swiftly flying out, landing on a large tree seven or eight meters away.

The seven people stood astonished, gawking at their nimble movement, utterly shocked. For these Second and Third-Level warriors, the abilities of Su Yu and his companions were simply beyond their imagination.

"Remember, continue in that direction, and after a few hundred kilometers, you will see a large river. If you’re lucky enough to cross the river, you can get out of this forest and find a human village... However, unless you have reached the Fourth Order, it’s better not to cross the river. It’s quite dangerous," Qin Jiagui advised them.

After Qin Jiagui finished his warning, he did a backflip, took a few quick steps towards a tree, grabbed a vine, and swung out. He quickly caught up with his group. The team of eleven swiftly disappeared from sight, leaving the seven people behind, looking at each other with shocked expressions.

By nightfall, they chose a sheltered spot to rest. It wasn’t that they were afraid to travel in the night, but after a day’s journey, even these strong individuals were getting tired.

The forest was dense and Zhao Shichang used his bone blade to clear out the undergrowth, clearing a small open area. In the center, he built a fire. With their current strength, they were not at all afraid that the firelight would attract any monsters.

Leaving one person to keep watch during the night, the rest ate some food and gradually fell asleep. Ma Ziye was sitting next to Su Yu and noticed that he didn’t lie down like Zhang Zhongmou and the others, but sat cross-legged leaning against a tree. Her eyebrows creased slightly as she whispered, "Su Yu, has Meng Ting mentioned anything to you these past few days?"

Su Yu was taken aback, then shook his head: "What did she say to me? Nothing."

Ma Ziye paused for a moment, "Did she not say anything? Even about the time when you fought Wang Di..." she nervously tried to remind Su Yu.

Su Yu was puzzled, "When I fought Wang Di? What’s there to talk about? Ziye, what do you want to say?"

Seeing Su Yu’s response, a hint of disappointment crossed Ma Ziye’s eyes. It seemed Meng Ting was still keeping Su Yu in the dark, and hadn’t told him her plan.

Thinking about how Meng Ting hadn’t told Su Yu anything, it seemed like she planned to keep him in the dark. A wave of disappointment surged through Ma Ziye. After a pause, she suddenly asked, "Su Yu, what do you think of Meng Ting?"

Su Yu smiled and replied: "Ziye, what’s wrong with you tonight? You keep bringing up Meng Ting, has something happened?" Though Su Yu was generally amiable by nature, he was not slow-witted. Seeing Ma Ziye’s unusual behavior and the strange expression on her face, he quickly realized that she seemed to be hiding something. He also remembered the expression on Meng Ting’s face when he went to see her before the expedition — it seemed as though she wanted to tell him something back then.

Could it be possible that Ma Ziye and Meng Ting were hiding a secret from him? And this secret concerned him?

With this thought in mind, Su Yu stared intently at Ma Ziye, and she became somewhat flustered under his gaze. She really didn’t want to keep Su Yu in the dark, but she had promised Meng Ting not to tell him. She had been hoping that Meng Ting would tell Su Yu herself, but she hadn’t yet.

"Su Yu, why are you looking at me like that? I just wanted to ask you your opinion on Meng Ting?" Ma Ziye lowered her head, turned her face aside, not daring to meet Su Yu’s gaze.

Su Yu pondered for a moment and then replied, "Meng Ting... she’s a very smart and strong-hearted girl. She has great ambition and considerable talent. Why do you suddenly ask?"

Ma Ziye laughed off her curiosity by asking another question: "Su Yu, have you ever thought about setting up our own village?"(To be continued. Check out www.qidian.com for more Chapters, support the author, and read legally!)
