Chapter 325: Chapter 261: Divine Source Stone
As the indifferent voice trailed off, an arm in the void tore apart the space as easily as tearing a piece of paper.
In the midst of this rift, a ten-meter tall eagle-headed golden creature emerged, spreading its radiant golden wings like a deity descending to the ground.
Startled by the appearance of the eagle-headed golden creature for the third time, Su Yu raised his eyes. The emotions that were stirred within him were hard to define, especially considering he did not expect this creature’s return at such a crucial moment.
The changing expressions of the white-robed woman inside the light pillar, and the three golden men surrounding Su Yu from above, caused them to collectively retreat.
Initially, Su Yu thought the three golden men and the eagle-headed golden creature were similar. However, upon the creature’s appearance and subsequent comparison between the two, Su Yu realised they were different.
Compared to the eagle-headed golden creature, the three golden men appeared to be wearing individual full-body golden armors. The eagle-headed golden creature, on the other hand, had pure golden feathers and wings that were not mere golden armor but flesh turned into gold. Their golden feathers, wings, and golden skull were its true form.
Once compared, the authenticity and superiority were apparent – Su Yu immediately realised the eagle-headed golden creature was a genuine golden creature whereas the three so-called "golden men" were merely beings wearing individual full-body golden armors.
As the eagle-headed golden creature landed among the three men in golden armor, its feet touched the earth. Su Yu stood just a few meters away, becoming closer to the creature than ever before.
His heart pounded with an impulse to worship the creature. Its appearance elicited stronger feelings within him than even Xingyu, the self-proclaimed "artificial god".
The three men in golden armor retreated quickly at the sight of the eagle-headed golden creature, their eyes reflecting uncertainty and confusion.
The eagle-headed golden creature reached out and grabbed Ada off Su Yu’s shoulder. Even Ada, confronted by this creature, didn’t dare to move around in its grasp.
"Little one...You’re suffering this time, aren’t you?" A faint hint of amusement glimmered in the golden creature’s eyes. Its golden claws emanated a golden light, healing Ada’s wounds so quickly it defied belief.
"Sir... Why are you..." Seeing the indifferent demeanor of the golden creature in the center, the three golden armored men fell silent. The one with the golden armor engraved with a backstabbing pattern finally couldn’t hold back his curiosity.
The golden creature ignored him. Its eyes fell upon Su Yu and nodded slowly, saying, "Not bad... To be able to assimilate my feather so quickly... It seems you have potential... Little one, you’ve chosen the right Master of Companion."
The golden armored man with the backstabbing pattern wasn’t satisfied with being ignored and took a step forward. He raised his tone and growled, "Sir-"
Before he could finish, the golden creature swiftly stuck out its claw and seized the man’s face, the golden armor on his head crushed to dust with a deafening crunch.
The true face of the man beneath the armor was revealed - a middle-aged man with a faint blue face that registered unadulterated shock and fear.
The other two golden armored men also reacted with evident alarm, but instead of stepping forward, they took two steps back, their eyes filled with wariness.
"You’re quite noisy," The golden creature said, gleaming with impatience. "This human possesses One Feather’s Blood. Even if he’s just a tiny human, it’s not your place to make a fuss."
"I... I was unaware... of any ties... between you... and him..." The man’s face was completely twisted in pain as blood seeped from his eyes, nose, and mouth, his body shaking violently with fear. Worse still, he was trapped, immobilized by the golden creature. He was incapable of fighting back, no different from a helpless insect.
The remaining two golden armored men stayed silent, watching their companion in danger in complete silence.
The white-robed woman trapped within the pillar of light suddenly mustered the courage to speak, "Honoured one, it appears unbefitting for you to be in this world. It seems ... against the rules. I urge you to exercise self-restraint, to adhere to these rules, and certainly not to commit murder here."
"Oh?" The hawk-headed golden being glanced at the white-robed woman and commented blandly, "The Guardian of this world, quite courageous indeed..." He clenched his fingers, and the golden-armoured person who had once a traitor emitted a blood-curdling scream. The fear of death made the once superior golden-armoured person no different from ordinary humans.
Just then, a thunderous rumble echoed through the sky as a hand as massive as the heavens, extended from above.
The appearance of this colossal hand caused everyone below to change their expressions dramatically. Aside from the traitorous golden-armoured man held by the hawk-headed golden monster, the other two golden-armoured persons, the white-robed woman, and the white-robed man all promptly retreated.
This celestial hand descended, was swung directly down towards the hawk-headed golden being.
The hand was so enormous that it almost completely enveloped an area of a hundred meters, engulfing the hawk-headed golden being, Su Yu, and everyone else within its grasp.
"Tsk tsk ... rules, eh ... so petty ..." The hawk-headed golden being stretched out his other hand and shoved upward, inexplicably fending off the gigantic hand descending from the heavens. He then waved his other hand, flinging the treacherous golden-armoured man far away.
"Don’t be petty ... I’ve already held back ... turn a blind eye ... do you want to fight me again?" In the face of the heavenly hand that had frightened everyone, the hawk-headed golden being remained composed. Strangely, as his words fell, the immense heavenly hand actually started to retract and quickly disappeared from the sky.
"Quickly return to the Sun Palace ... Every world has its rules, and whoever should abide by them ... Isn’t that right, Guardian of the Black Iron World?" The hawk-headed golden being said, suddenly glancing at the white-robed woman, his tone hinting at a mixture of amusement.
"Correct." The white-robed woman lowered her eyebrows slightly, not showing any fear despite the terrifying might of the hawk-headed golden being.
The traitorous golden-armoured man who had been flung far away had a twisted face filled with terror. As he was struggling, a "heavenly pit rift" appeared behind him. He quickly disappeared into it, wailing, "The Poseidya Sun Palace will always remember your grace today—" His voice, filled with bitter wretchedness, echoed before disappearing into the dark rift.
The other two golden-armoured men remained silent, merely summoning a heavenly pit rift each before stepping into them, leaving this world.
Watching the departure of the three golden-armoured men, the hawk-headed golden being let out a faint cold laugh, "Poseidya ... Sun Palace ..." He lifted his golden hawk head, looking up at the void, seemingly lost in thought. Suddenly, he patted Ada and said, "Little guy, I wish you guys luck. I hope one day you can come to my world."
After passing Ada to Su Yu, the golden wings on his back flapped open, stirring up a gust of wind that kicked up dust from the ground. He became a golden rainbow, cleaving through the world before disappearing in the blink of an eye.
The spectacle of his departure was truly startling.
Once the hawk-headed golden being had left, the invisible and visible eyes gazing upon this world all converged. The words of "One Feather’s Blood" reached their ears and all desires to seize the Demon God Core from Su Yu were extinguished.
The white-robed man floating within the pillar of light retracted his expression with the air of someone having just watched a play. He shook his head, muttering to himself, "Such tedium, I didn’t expect it to end this way. Guardian, I leave the rest to you." Having said this, the pillar of light vanished, and the white-robed man disappeared into the void, extinguishing the pillar of light with a pop.
Watching as each of the beings disappeared, the white-robed woman floating inside the pillar of light moved her hands in succession. Across this world, one pillar of light after another shot up into the sky. Soon, Su Yu noticed that he was engulfed by a pillar of light. Without any resistance or thoughts, he was sucked into the light pillar. His surrounding aura changed instantly, and he found himself back in the grand temple he had previously visited.
Besides him, the other surviving members of the teams also reappeared in the temple one after another. At the centre, the radiant white-robed woman was already floating in the towering pillar of light.
"Due to unexpected events, the mission has changed. According to the rules, this mission has been brought to an early conclusion, and all surviving teams will be rewarded. There are nineteen surviving teams in total, and the original reward of the ’Divine Source’ will be split into nineteen parts. Each team will receive their share of the ’Divine Source’."
As the glowing white-robed woman in the centre finished speaking, a black object resembling a six-sided crystal floated into each team’s pillar of light. Su Yu was watching and realised it was similar to the Mag-Eu Stone created by Atlanteans, but it was much larger, and on closer inspection, it seemed not as refined as the Mag-Eu Stone.
