Chapter 293: Chapter 239: Entering the Pyramid (3rd update today, still a 10,000 word explosion)
Unfortunately, this kind of beginner’s Mystic Treasure Ring, while storing an impressive amount of energy, ultimately has its limitations. One could only imagine—if this kind of ring had no limit to its power storage capacity, and if Su Yu could channel all his energy into it, then release it at once, the resulting force would be tremendously powerful, capable of wreaking havoc akin to annihilation.
Ada ingested one of the tiny Mag-Eu Stones and gave the remaining two to Su Yu, who then integrated these stones into his Primordial Beast’s necklace.
The initially dormant soul of Su Yu’s Primordial Beast woke up once again, successfully hatching into a massive Thunderball.
Su Yu was very satisfied and thought that as long as there were plenty of Mag-Eu Stones, he’d quickly be able to raise another Saint Thunder Beast. The power obtained from devouring one Saint Thunder Beast allowed the potency of the Golden Lightning within Su Yu’s body to reach 50,000 volts. He wondered: what level of electrical energy would he achieve if he devoured another?
These thoughts excited Su Yu greatly.
With Meng Rui’s death, the group dwindled down to 25. The time: the second day.
After Meng Rui passed away, the Category 5 Lifeform, Iron Eagle, which belonged to him began to slowly melt like iron and seeped into the ground where it eventually disappeared.
Su Yu knew this Category 5 Lifeform hadn’t died but instead transformed its form after the death of its Master of Companion, blending into the surrounding environment. It fell into a dormant state and could possibly be reborn again in the future if the conditions were right. All other companions related to this Category 5 Lifeform would automatically sever their companion relationships, reverting to their state before becoming companions.
After killing Meng Rui, Su Yu remembered why Ada had brought him here— Ada had sensed some sort of treasure within this pyramidal building. Ada couldn’t specify what treasures were inside, but Su Yu firmly believed in Ada’s sensing abilities. The entrance to the structure was on a grand stone wall about twenty meters away. The stone door stood about ten meters high and was roughly three meters wide, which by comparison to other huge doors on other buildings, seemed quite regular.
On either side of the gate, there were stone statues of ferocious beasts. The three robots that originally guarded the door were already taken care of by Meng Rui. Thus, when Su Yu approached the entrance, he did not encounter any resistance.
Upon entering, the room slightly lit up, revealing a long corridor. The walls on both sides of the halls were embedded with faint blue gemstones. At this moment, the gems shimmered, illuminating the place, which seemed brighter than outside.
Unable to see the end of the corridor, Su Yu was not sure where it led. Seeing the blue gemstones embedded in the walls, Su Yu’s eyes sparkled as he said to Ada, "These gems seem valuable, Ada. We should dig them out. We could earn a lot of money if we sell them." He remembered Meng Ting saying that any treasure in this world could be sold for money.
Ada looked at him and shook her head. "Do you think this is your world? These things aren’t valuable here. Valuable treasures are things that can enhance power or are rare. These gemstones are as common as rocks in this world. A time coin can buy a lot of them."
"Uh..." Su Yu felt embarrassed. He remembered this world wasn’t the same as his own. In his world, these self-illuminating gems would be worth a fortune. But in this world, they were as worthless and common as rocks.
Relying on the dim light emitted by the blue gemstones on the walls, Su Yu sped up and rushed forward, occasionally releasing "Radar Waves" to sense his surroundings. Less than one hundred meters into the corridor, he suddenly heard a "da da da" noise coming from the dark ahead. Amid the faint blue light, dazzling flashes appeared.
With a sinking feeling in his heart, Su Yu retreated swiftly. The ground where he had just been standing was now sparking with stray fragments. Looking up, he saw ten or so metal gun barrels protruding from the walls, which were automatically moving to target him.
Calculating the distance, Su Yu raised his arms and fired out ten "Tooth Bursts".
Soft whooshing sounds could be heard as he shot at the barrels, one by one. Su Yu raced forward, darting through the bullets, his surroundings ignited by sparks from bullets hitting the ground.
He kept firing "Tooth Bursts" from his arms, each burst destroying a gun barrel. Su Yu’s precision had now reached a staggering level.
Soon, Su Yu had crossed a hundred meters of the corridor, lined with dense gun barrels. Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared in the darkness ahead, revealing a two-and-a-half-meter-tall robot wielding a Radiant Greatsword.
Su Yu swerved to avoid the machine, passing it by its side. His Golden Claw caught the light as it smashed the robot’s right arm to pieces. With the force of his rush, Su Yu grabbed the Radiant Greatsword and, in one swift motion, cut the robot in half at the waist.
