Chapter 276 - 226: Mag-Eu Stone

Chapter 276: Chapter 226: Mag-Eu Stone

Adding on to the fact that he had just used the "Earth Spike Assault" once, which can’t be used again within the next twenty-four hours, the "Earth Spike Ring" had become a burden to Su Yu. Without an extra thought, he removed the ring and stashed it into his waist pouch.

This "Earth Spike Ring" had indeed helped him a lot throughout his journey, but the time had finally come for it to retire.

Once again, Su Yu looked at the lights on his left wrist’s display, only to find one had gone out, clearly indicating that another squad had been wiped out.

Ada said, "Surprisingly, in such a short time, two squads have been wiped out. It seems that the ruins of Atlantis are indeed terrifying."

"Yeah." Su Yu responded. Obviously, the two disappeared squads were not eliminated by other squads, but were killed by the forces created by the Atlanteans who protected these ruins.

Ada continued: "Although this place is full of danger, we are already in a desperate situation. Su Yu, we can only seek a break in the crisis. This place is also an opportunity. The Mag-Eu stone, the best universal energy source in the world, if we can get a large amount of it, things might turn around. Of course, the same goes for the members of other squads."

Su Yu, looking at the other light points on the device, selected a direction. For now, he had no intention of encountering other squads.

"You’re right, now we should test our luck." Su Yu understood what Ada meant. Just the fragment of the Mag-Eu stone, no bigger than a quarter of a fingernail, which he obtained from the robot earlier, could evolve a Thunderball into a Thunder Beast, increasing its power of lightning exponentially. This made the astonishing energy of the Mag-Eu stone apparent.

What kind of amazing effect could be produced if they got a large amount of Mag-Eu stones?

Without a doubt, his strength will experience an incredible boost, increasing the odds of victory. However, this opportunity also involves considerable risk. Two disappeared red dots on the screen are the proof. Furthermore, this opportunity is fair to everyone. If he doesn’t take action while others are becoming stronger in these seven days, his death will be even more miserable.

Under these circumstances, Su Yu had no other choice but to avoid other squads while looking for other combat robots in order to obtain more Mag-Eu stones.

Of course, the risks involved are unimaginable. His success in killing the previous combat robot was indeed largely due to luck.

"I hope my luck will hold up." Su Yu murmured as he and Ada crept into the darkness after regaining some strength, all the while maintaining his "Lizard Beast Transformation." His right hand, bearing the "Thunder Ring," occasionally released "Radar Waves," expanding circles of blue-white light, capturing the surrounding situation. If there are any living beings around, the "Radar Wave" can immediately detect it.

In this dark environment, Su Yu wasn’t sure how long he had been here. Judging by his hunger, he estimated it had been half a day. He only had two days’ worth of food, but food and water were not issues, since he had the capability to survive without eating or drinking for seven days, without any effect on his strength.

As he climbed over one collapsed wall after another, creeping along a towering stone wall, moving forward in the dark, Su Yu turned around and noted that the towering stone wall, which went up so high he couldn’t see its top, seemed to be painted with huge patterns. However, the surrounding area was too dark and the pattern was too big to view discernably due to his close proximity.

Feeling that these patterns might possess some meaning, Su Yu stopped and looked up to see more clearly. Suddenly, a sense of extreme danger rose in his heart. Before he could think more, his body instinctively darted away.

With a "clang," sparks flew from the stone wall before him. Something had struck the wall. Judging by the mild sound of air being split, the impact was incredibly strong. However, the hardness of the stone wall was even more astonishing as it didn’t leave a single mark.

No wonder all the other walls had either fallen or cracked, only this towering stone wall remained intact.

Su Yu moved back, and then he saw a robot over two meters tall.

The robot looked similar to the combat robot he had encountered earlier. The only difference was that while the previous one had been armed with numerous cannon barrels on its arms for long-range attacks, the current one didn’t have cannon barrels but held a massive metal machete.

The machete was nearly two meters long, the widest part was nearly one foot. Engraved on it were patterns resembling circuits that looked like charms. The blade radiated a white light. After it struck the stone wall, the metal blade, starting from the blade edge, slowly lit up along the charms as if it connected to a power source, turning the entire blade into a dazzling light blade.

From within the brilliant white light of the saber came a faint hum, reminiscent of a precise instrument operating at high speed and producing unimaginable, terrifying power.

The robot swung the saber and missed, turned and dragged the blade on the ground. As the blade contacted the firm stone floor, Su Yu noticed it cut through it as easily as if it were tofu.

A chill ran through him. The giant light saber held by this robot was possibly sharper than Zhang Zhongmou and Ma Ziye’s treasure weapons making this situation dire.

Although the robot’s large body offered significant power in close combat, it may not necessarily be more flexible than a human.

Su Yu quickly processed his thoughts whilst the mechanical figure, its crystal eyes shining red, wasted no time, brandishing the giant light saber and charging once more. It raised the weapon high and brought it down forcefully.

The air was sliced by the descending sword and Su Yu painstakingly retreated, but no matter his efforts, he could not create enough distance. He was shocked to realize that this robot’s speed was no less than his own.

"Huh!" A low roar precursored Su Yu’s retreat. He had long gathered plenty of gasification mysterious power from several points within his body, which he had compressed into his arms. Swinging his left arm, he initiated a "Tearing Storm". The energy produced by the gasification mysterious power met with the swung light saber, causing a resounding explosion.

At the sound of the explosion, Su Yu sidestepped to the left and swung his right arm, initiating a second "Tearing Storm". This time, he aimed at the robot’s legs. Remembering how an earlier ’Earth Spike Assault’ had unbalanced the robot, he realized its balance couldn’t match a living being. Consequently, its legs must be its weak point.

Although Su Yu’s thought wasn’t wrong, the robot surpassed his imagination. A horizontal chop followed by a vertical slash, the robot had defused the two "Tearing Storms" Su Yu had initiated. The robot’s crystal eyes flashed red, and the humming from within its impacted light saber increased. Transparent blades of light began to burst from it.

Caught off guard, Su Yu roared as countless light blades hit him. Blood spattered as he was thrown to the ground.

The robot didn’t lose any time. It leaped up in the air, coming down with the giant light saber raised, aimed to strike.

Su Yu, sprawling on the ground, let out a shrill howl. Sensing danger, he extended his right hand, thunderous energy waves within him swelled out. They propagated into surrounding space as waves of light, tracking the figure of the falling robot. The spell "Wrath of Thunder" from his "Thunder Ring" was released.

With an earth-shattering clash sounding like a sudden thunderbolt in a clear sky, the blue and white lightning from the "Thunder Ring" formed a foot wide band of blue-white electricity in the air; shaping itself into a perfect arc, it struck the airborne robot.

The terrifying "Wrath of Thunder" hit the robot instantaneously, and in the same moment, the robot’s giant light saber hit Su Yu, sprawling on the ground.

Su Yu had formed an "armored shield" around his left arm, onto which the heavy blow of the light saber landed.

Su Yu had immediately unleashed the "Golden Blood" power simultaneously, but even with the tenfold increase in defense from the golden rune armor, the light saber effortlessly sliced through. It glided across Su Yu’s waist, shattering black scales, sending blood spurting across. Su Yu grunted, falling heavily onto the ground.

Su Yu laid on the floor, bloody and shrapooled with torn black scales. One after another, bloody holes formed in his body where the laser blades of the giant light saber had hit. The most grievous wound was the one across his waist.

Due to the deflection by the golden rune armor, the majority of the force had been dissipated, and his body had been saved from severing by the hard black scales. Otherwise, this blow would have cut him in half.

Having been violently toppled to the ground, Su Yu groaned, blood seeped from his mouth, but in that same moment, golden electrical flashes erupted from his body. He activated the power of the Golden Blood thoroughly, in combination with the power of the thunder beast within him, synergizing to form golden flashes of lightning. Su Yu, bloodied, gradually stood up among the massive golden lightning, his strength finally reaching its peak. (To be continued... To know more, please log in to www.qidian.com.
