Chapter 269: Chapter 221: Magnificent Temple (Seeking Monthly Passes) _2

"Boss, the Divine Source we’re looking for and this mission, they must be related to this place. It seems we are the first to arrive."

Zheng Jun nodded in agreement and said, "Indeed, who knew there would be such a magnificent building hidden in this second layer of the Earth elemental world? It’s truly astonishing."

The group of five sighed and were full of excitement, perhaps they were the first squad to arrive here, and they could be the ones who complete the mission this time.

Thinking this, the excitement overpowered their awe and innate fear of the Magnificent Temple, and they immediately started running toward it.

The temple’s occupied area and grandeur exceeded expectations. No one knew its dimensions or the height of its highest point. What they could see were two colossal stone doors, each of them at least a hundred meters high. Engraved on these doors were two giant statues, each one hundred meters tall, brandishing tridents, with horns on their heads, looking as fierce as demons.

In front of these hundred-meter doors, stood two more stone statues, carved in the likeness of fierce beasts, adding even more majesty to the temple.

Just as the five-man squad, led by Zheng Jun, excitedly charged towards the stone doors, the ground beneath them started to stir with movement.

Taken aback, they stopped in their tracks as the bricks on the ground started to coalesce into a towering rock giant standing at about four to five meters tall.

The stone giant opened its mouth, emitting an eerie roar. "Intruders...must not...disturb...Master...sleep." With a sweep of its right hand, it sent a barrage of bricks raining down on the squad like a meteor shower.

The five soldiers cried out in rage but gracefully evaded the onslaught, forming a circle and taking measures to fend off the flying bricks.

With each stone either being shattered or deflected, the rock giant suddenly took long strides, bringing both its arms together overhead.

With a resounding crash, a horrific fountain of energy shot up from the ground. Caught off guard, the squad were knocked about. But before they could react, the giant’s colossal figure was already airborne and came crashing down.

Followed by a deafening blast, among the ensuing chaos came a gruesome scream. Zheng Jun, being tossed around, let out a bitter cry, "Number two!"

Already pinned beneath the rock giant was a man from their squad, crushed so horrifically his features were unrecognizable.

Zheng Jun let out a roar as his upper body transformed into a Green Giant.

"Giant Charge!" Zheng Jun bellowed, stomping his foot and activating a powerful ability.

The fallen man was a close brother to Zheng Jun. They had been through thick and thin together. The death of his friend inflicted a deep wound on Zheng Jun, driving him to the edge with rage and grief, pushing his power to its limits.

Witnessing all this, Su Yu also felt shocked and horrified at the strength of the newly-appeared rock giant.

The "Giant Charge" at full force turned Zheng Jun into a rolling green comet, the ground shattering and sinking wherever he landed.

With a bang, the green giant formed by Zheng Jun collided with the rock giant.

However, as soon as he hit it, the rock giant burst apart, turning back into a pile of bricks. Zheng Jun’s "Giant Charge" had missed its mark and had no effect.

"Zheng Jun!" the female soldier at the other end let out a terrified cry as the bricks that had scattered settled on the ground, only to shoot up again and start to reform in midair.

With continuous explosions, the bricks struck Zheng Jun, who was transformed into a Green Giant.

Zheng Jun momentarily lost all his strength, immediately blood oozed from all his orifices, and the bricks enveloped his body and started to squeeze him from all sides.

Zheng Jun opened his mouth and let out an incredibly miserable howl. The others watched, wide-eyed, as his body was encased and crushed by the bricks. Only his head remained unencased, but as the brutal squeeze continued, his blood surged upwards, filling his head and causing his eyes to bulge out. It was clear that any moment now, his eyes would burst out of their sockets. Even more blood gushed from his orifices, flowing like a fountain.

Faced with such a horrifying power, the remaining three were petrified. The Level Five woman cried out Zheng Jun’s name before recklessly running forward to save him.

"Zheng Jun—" She cried out again, her eyes bloodshot with desperation for Zheng Jun, for whom she was willing to risk it all.

Zheng Jun’s eyes widened, his mouth filled with blood, his bones shattered one by one from the intense pressure. He mustered all his strength and yelled out, "Don’t—"

He only managed to choke out two words before he projectile vomited a chunk of his bloody guts.

The chunk of bloody entrails launched from his mouth, landing squarely on the woman’s face as she rushed forward. She tried to attack the crushing bricks around Zheng Jun, but bricks emerged beneath her own feet as well. These terrifying bricks engulfed her in the blink of an eye, and she met the same fate as Zheng Jun.

"No—" Zheng Jun screamed out in despair, followed by a gurgling sound as his eyes could no longer endure the horrible pressure and burst from their sockets.

Blood poured from the empty sockets, followed by the mashed remains of his liver and countless shards of white bone. In the face of this terrifying power, the bloody mix of flesh and bone was squeezed out from every orifice - his mouth, empty eye sockets, nostrils, ears - resulting in a gruesomely pitiful sight.

The woman watched in horror as Zheng Jun was reduced to pulp. She shook her head in denial; she was on the verge of going mad. Then blood began seeping from her own orifices, her eyes bulging in the same way as Zheng Jun’s had, indicating she would suffer the same end.

The other two Level Five teammates were already scared out of their wits. Zheng Jun was a Fifth-order Advanced strongman, while the "second in command" and the woman, who just died, were both Tier 5 Intermediate strongmen. All that remained were two mere Tier 5 Beginners.

Seeing Zheng Jun’s gruesome state, and realizing their own comparative weakness, the two Tier 5 beginners were terrified. They turned tail and tried to flee. One of them was so terrified, he even wet his pants.

Even the evolved Black Iron Warriors of Level Five, upon experiencing absolute terror, were reduced to mere humans, unable to control their own bodily functions.

Su Yu was also greatly taken aback. A Fifth-order Advanced Strongman had been slaughtered so effortlessly. What was the force behind these rock giants? How could they possess such terrifying power?

Before he had the chance to comprehend what was happening to Zheng Jun, he sensed an unusual tremor from behind. He looked back in horror to see bricks flipping over and rolling around. Within the blink of an eye, these bricks started to form a wave, a terrifying tad-tad sound echoing in the air.

"This doesn’t bode well—" gasped Su Yu as Ada on his shoulder cried, "Forge ahead—"

Without a second thought, Su Yu propelled himself forward.

The thunderous sound from the collapsing bricks followed closely as the two Fifth-tier beginners tried to flee. Suddenly, they saw a teenager, Su Yu, running towards them, followed by a tide of brick debris.

The exit was entirely blocked by the tide of bricks. There was now no way out for them.

The two Level Five warriors let out cries of terror. Su Yu remained silent and shot towards the temple like a meteor.

Seeing Su Yu, the terrified warriors didn’t stop to think and hurriedly followed him.

Finally, the bricks that had turned Zheng Jun and the woman into bloody pulp scattered, rapidly covering the ground. They darted towards the fleeing Su Yu and the two warriors.
