Chapter 225: Chapter 189 Magnetic Storm
Xu Ruyun launched the "Rain of Scalpels", but the scar-faced woman facing these oncoming scalpels didn’t panic — instead, she stretched out her hands.
In the palms of her hands, two black circular iron blocks bulged resolutely.
Just as she lifted her hands, something strange happened. The trajectory of the flying scalpels changed dramatically, congregating in the middle and speeding towards the iron blocks in the woman’s palms.
"Swoosh swoosh swoosh" noises thrummed in the air. In an instant, all the scalpels stuck to the iron blocks, trembling but not dropping.
Catching him off-guard, Xu Ruyun’s eyebrows slightly furrowed. The scar-faced woman twirled the iron blocks in her palms, and with a swift move, the scalpels stuck onto the blocks flew back towards him and Fang Jiong.
Fang Jiong gave a low roar, pulling out a large wok and throwing his "Spinning Wok" towards the scar-faced woman.
Xu Ruyun reached out his hand towards the oncoming scalpels. Each scalpel disappeared as it touched his body, like a sheathed knife. His eyebrows knitted together as he suddenly said, "Magnets?"
It dawned on him - the two black circular blocks the woman brandished might be magnets. Could her special power be the manipulation of magnetic fields?
Before Xu Ruyun could further confirm this, the woman waved her hand again. The large wok hurled by Fang Jiong was indeed stuck on her iron block, causing a loud "clang".
The woman twisted her hands simultaneously, spinning the black magnetic blocks in her palms. The wok, stuck firmly on it, whirled and sped towards Xu Ruyun and Fang Jiong. Then, Xu Ruyun felt the scalpels in his body tremble, and all metallic objects that Fang Jiong carried started to vibrate.
"What kind of magnet possesses such great power?" Fang Jiong was shocked while Xu Ruyun flung himself sideways in midair, apparently wanting to increase his distance from the woman.
The magnets in the woman’s hands were seemingly being manipulated by a mystical force. As the magnets rotated, the surrounding scenario grew increasingly terrible. The trembles from the scalpels within Xu Ruyun became more violent and threatened to become uncontrollable in no time.
Fang Jiong exploded in rage, just as he took out the Cow Splitting Knife. The woman gave a low cry, "Magnetic Storm——"
An invisible wind started howling. Fang Jiong screamed as he realized the Cow Splitting Knife was trembling non-stop. The terrifying power seemed to wrench it from his hands. His cooking tools, hanging on his back, began vibrating madly. Suddenly, with a "Shick Shick" sound, two kitchen knives ended up plunging into his back.
Fang Jiong screamed but failed to grip onto the Cow Splitting Knife. It whirled off into the air. Xu Ruyun did not dare to summon the scalpels as he continued to vault himself, hoping to find a weakness in the woman.
This woman, with her control over magnetic fields, was extremely terrifying. Unfortunately, both Xu Ruyun and Fang Jiong were subtly restrained by her. They were eventually left in a pitiful state.
Xu Ruyun kept his distance, but suddenly, he seemed to resign he charged towards the woman.
The scar-faced woman sneered, the magnets in her hands spinning. Suddenly, the magnetic field swelled and in an instant, the hidden scalpels in Xu Ruyun’s body started shooting out.
"Ahhh——" With a miserable shriek, countless scalpels erupted from his skin, spraying blood like a fountain. Xu Ruyun’s screams echoed as he fell heavily to the ground, motionless.
Fang Jiong watched helplessly, seething with rage. In his fury, he sprang forward, discarding all the metal kitchen tools and charging bare-handed, his palms emitting black riffle energy, at the scar-faced woman.
The woman noted Xu Ruyun collapse heavily, seemingly incapacitated, yet wanting to deliver a fatal blow, just in case. But Fang Jiong had come too close for her to divert her attention. She had to rotate her hands, launching the terrifying Magnetic Knife Storm that sucked in dozens of kitchen knives, Woks, scalpels and many other metallic articles, spinning into a vortex and shooting madly at Fang Jiong.
Fang Jiong roared, his hands full of black ripple energy, heading straight into the "Magnetic Knife Storm". The terrifying "Boom!" resounded in the air.
At the same moment, Xu Ruyun, who was initially lying motionless on the ground, apparently being severely injured, had somehow silently stood up. He lunged forward, stretching out his slender, pale hands, holding on either side of the woman’s face from behind. His touch was gentle as if caressing his lover’s face.
Then, with a gentle twist of his hands, a crisp sound of bones crunching could be heard. The woman’s face spun round to 180 degrees, and they were looking face to face.
The scar-faced woman quickly fell into a stupor, her face expressing disbelief. Xu Ruyun’s face was devoid of emotion. Her left hand shimmered, and another scalpel emerged. She slit the woman’s neck, which was already weakened from broken bones, the scalpel easily severing her throat.
Xu Ruyun discarded the woman’s head and brushed the blood from her clothes, as if she had just done something trivial.
With the scar-faced woman dead, the storm of her magnetic knives disappeared, and the airborne cutlery fell to the ground with loud "thuds".
Fang Jiong stared, dazed, at the bloodied Xu Ruyun, gradually understanding that she had taken a grave risk – placed herself in a life or death situation – to ultimately emerge victorious against this woman, whose power could have been their undoing.
After Xu Ruyun and Fang Jiong painstakingly killed the scar-faced woman, the only remaining enemies on the Crystal Pile were two Level Five powerhouses, "Sky Eye" and "Dao Ge," and two Fourth Order warriors.
"Sky Eye" shook off the numerous light knives sent by Meng Ting with his hands imbued in black electricity. Meanwhile, Su Yu rose without uttering a single word, and pounced on "Sky Eye" from the opposite direction. At the same time, he summoned the Primordial Beast "Thunderball" that was dormant inside his thunder necklace.
"Thunderball" falls into dormancy after expending all its power, and Su Yu can only summon it again after a day. He almost forgot about the existence of Thunderball, only remembering it when he saw Meng Ting’s necklace fluttering, reminding him of his own "Thunderball".
The Thunderball’s electricity bolts don’t have strong attack power, but when launched at critical moments, they serve as a considerable distraction.
In addition, Su Yu noted that his Earth Spike Ring’s additional curse, the Earth Spike Assault, had finally recharged. With the combination of "Thunderball", Earth Spike Assault, Golden Thumb, and Meng Ting’s support, Su Yu felt confident enough to tackle a Level Five powerhouse.
Seeing how their opponent seemingly anticipated every move, Su Yu chose not to immediately use the Earth Spike Assault or Thunderball’s attack, but to dash forward unaided.
In this fleeting contact, he realized that while Sky Eye was formidable, he did not have an overwhelming advantage in terms of attack or control, particularly against Su Yu himself. The blow that shattered Su Yu’s right arm bone took advantage of a moment when Su Yu’s force was spent, creating a brief opening for Sky Eye to land the hit. And it appeared that Sky Eye had to give it his all for that strike.
Fourth Order warriors had unimaginable Gasification Mysterious Power— significant power was focused on his broken bones to facilitate rapid healing. Moonlight shade-like scales emerged on Su Yu’s left arm, shooting out steaming white mist, which in turn propelled Su Yu towards Sky Eye.
Seeing her light knives shattered one by one, Meng Ting took a deep breath. As expected, a Level Five powerhouse was an entirely different level compared to Fourth Order. However, she was not afraid. She stretched out both arms, and the floating polyhedrons behind her shifted position—elongating the curtains of light between them to form two wings.
With a whooshing sound, the luminous wings extended, circumventing Meng Ting and converging in a white flash, striking at the man.
Simultaneously, Su Yu attacked from the other side, creating a three-sided assault, with Sky Eye caught in the middle.
Facing Meng Ting’s lethal attack, Sky Eye seemed to anticipate her move, lunging forward to close the gap between them and dodging the attack in the nick of time. He roared, black electricity sparking from his hands, and violently bombarded the countless polyhedrons shielding Meng Ting.
The luminescent shield in front of Meng Ting instantly collapsed. The crunching sounds were incessant to the ears. The attack power of a Level Five powerhouse was indeed incomparably terrifying.
Sensing trouble, Su Yu, from behind, swiftly activated Thunderball, which immediately unleashed bolts of blue-white lightning.
Though small, these bolts could cause a brief paralysis when launched suddenly.
To everyone’s surprise, the man who had always seemed to predict the opponent’s moves failed to evade the Thunderball’s attack for the first time. Six small bolts of lightning struck him simultaneously.
He grunted softly, looking somewhat surprised as he turned to look at Su Yu. Su Yu roared, braced himself against the acute pain in his right arm, and activated the Earth Spike Assault.
The fearsome Earth Spikes erupted without warning. Su Yu thought it was a certain hit under the circumstances, but he failed once again. The moment Sky Eye turned to look at him, it was as if he knew Su Yu was about to execute the Earth Spike Assault. Sky Eye jumped back, narrowly avoiding it.
"How is this possible?" Su Yu exclaimed in shock, his Earth Spike Assault failed, but his Thunderball had successfully hit him.
Logically, the Earth Spike Assault was much more sudden than Thunderball’s lightning. If Thunderball could hit him, why not the Earth Spike Assault? (To be continued...For more Chapters, please visit www.qidian.com. Please support the authors and legal reading!)
