Chapter 1337: Chapter 995: A Leaf, A World
"Hey, you in the green, the tree that appeared was also huge. Was that tree from your ’Muriya Civilization,’ or perhaps even your ancestor?"
Zhang Zhongmou half-jokingly asked the woman in green about the "Muriya Civilization."
The woman in green glared at him and snorted, "You’re nuts."
Su Yu and Ada watched from a distance as the giant tree in front of everyone grew increasingly larger, and judging by the direction of the Warlord Statue, its target seemed to be that very tree.
From afar, the tree already appeared immense, but nobody could have anticipated that, as the distance closed in, the tree would grow even larger. Soon, its main trunk filled the space between heaven and earth, blocking out all other aspects of their vision, yet they were still unimaginably far from it, and the tree continued to grow.
Not to mention the trunk, even one of its branches became incredibly gigantic, and it appeared that the target of the Warlord Statue was a leaf on one of these fine branches.
The leaf grew larger and larger in front of everyone, soon as vast as the sky itself, then turned into a continent that kept expanding. Gradually, clouds began to rise, and suddenly, everyone realized they could no longer see the giant tree. The Warlord Statue had brought them to a vast land covered in thick green grass.
The land stretched endlessly, covered in lush greenery, breathtakingly beautiful. When they looked up, they saw only endless clouds. The towering tree they had just seen now seemed like an illusion.
The Warlord Statue landed heavily on the ground, standing erect as if it had been there since the dawn of time.
Everyone else was stunned, the earlier scene deeply imprinted in their minds. Could it be that this expansive prairie, this fresh and beautiful world, was really just one of the countless leaves on that giant tree?
This truth was indeed difficult for everyone to accept. If this world was just a leaf, then what was the real nature of the giant tree they had just seen in the Dark World?
The countless leaves above, did they not represent countless worlds like this one? In comparison, what were they but insignificant creatures?
A tree that could bear countless leaves representing worlds—was this the reality, or just an illusion?
In that moment, there was a deathly silence. Not only them, but even the servant of the Warlord and the man with the cane were silent, immersed in deep shock.
In a daze, Su Yu couldn’t help but think of Ada and Tezcatlipoca’s speculation from before. Could it be that outside these countless universes, there really was such a vast tree, its countless leaves representing countless worlds, and they were nothing but the silkworms living on those leaves?
Then, who might be the one who planted this tree?
The men in blue robes? That monstrous infant? Or perhaps someone more powerful than Feng’er’s master, or the colossal Buddha represented by the Eight-Treasures Buddha Platform?
Or none of these?
In the midst of this deathly silence, suddenly, a terrifying roar came from the distant horizon, breaking the silence.
"Who’s there? There’s a noise over there—"
Quickly, Zhang Cuge and others looked towards the distant sky. The second roar was already very close. "Let’s go see."
Since the Warlord Statue had brought them to this world, there must be some deeper scheme. The servant of the Warlord slightly pointed a finger, and was the first to rush far off, followed by Su Yu, the Master of Rules, the woman in green, Qing Huang, Sky-gazing Giant Eye, Ada, and Zhang Zhongmou rushing after him.
Soon, shrouded in dense fog in the sky far away, everyone saw a shocking scene.
At the edge of the heavens, obscured by thick clouds, stood an unbelievably giant, half-naked man, whose bellowing mouth expressed immense rage. This giant had bulging muscles, exuding boundless strength, holding a bizarre, giant axe in his right hand. His body appeared intermittently through the fog, only revealing a corner, but still, those watching from afar could see that he was fighting nine men in blue.
These nine men in blue were neither the leader of the blue-robed men from the Giant Cocoon World nor those masked blue-robed men but a group wearing blue jade-colored armor and blue robes, clearly different from the previous two groups of blue-robed men.
When everyone had arrived from afar, they just witnessed the giant raising his axe in midair, splitting one of the blue-robed men clad in blue armor into two halves with a terrifying explosion of energy. The sudden explosion, seemingly unexpected by the axe-wielding giant himself, resulted in his being covered in blood, even causing one of his eyeballs to burst out.
The other eight blue-robed men, witnessing their comrade being disintegrated in the explosion, gave a united roar of fury.
"You mad freak—curse you—"
