Chapter 1290 - 961: Pursuit of the Chief of Heroic Spirits

Chapter 1290: Chapter 961: Pursuit of the Chief of Heroic Spirits

This terrifying experience was indescribable. The Chief of Heroic Spirits let out an extremely mournful roar. Her origins were very special, and when the "Magnetic Field Power" burst forth with its most formidable might, she instinctively paused for a moment, narrowly avoiding the direct hit from the core of the magnetic field’s force. Yuan Niping was a bit further away from the Chief of Heroic Spirits, but without the Chief’s sensitivity, she suffered a similarly horrific impact. At least Guan Zixin, who was following closely behind the Chief of Heroic Spirits.

When the Chief of Heroic Spirits stepped back, he was the first to bear the brunt. Even with his near-Peak Immortal strength, he couldn’t comprehend what had happened. In an instant, every inch of his skin, every cell, was torn apart and annihilated—a clean sweep, spirit and soul dispersed, vanishing so completely that not even a trace remained.

Guan Zixin, who was nearly a Peak Immortal, met his end in a flash. As a powerful being who combined the forces of ten thousand Valiant Death Knights, this generation’s "King of Spirit Heroes," Yuan Niping, although spared from the same tragic fate as Guan Zixin, with not a trace left, nevertheless suffered catastrophic injuries. Blood seeped from her seven orifices, and most of her body was instantly crippled, plunging her into an endless Darkness, her fate between life and death unknown.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits, who spanned five kilometers, might have been the one with the best outcome among them. On one hand, her last-second sensitivity helped her evade disaster, and on the other, her formidable strength was truly extraordinary. Even with the "Ye’katel Coil," it was not easy to try and annihilate her from such a distance.

However, she too sustained unimaginably severe injuries. Her five-kilometer Giant Arm was blasted to tatters, like a ragdoll torn asunder. Golden Blood gushed wildly as if it were worth nothing, but that was not all—her very soul endured a grievously heavy blow. These injuries were not something one could recover from quickly, she couldn’t even be sure if she would recover from them in this lifetime.

After emitting an indescribable cry of agony, the Chief of Heroic Spirits, though grievously wounded, did not meet her death or fall unconscious. Instead, she used all her remaining strength to shatter the Void and flee to another place.

"Su Yu, don’t miss the opportunity—"

Ada’s anxious voice rang out in his mind.

Having seriously wounded the Chief of Heroic Spirits in such a hard-fought battle was unquestionably an excellent chance to finish her off. Ada’s reminder to Su Yu was unnecessary, as he had no intention of letting the Chief of Heroic Spirits go.

Their hatred was deep-seated and beyond resolution. The mere fact that the Chief of Heroic Spirits created the "Valiant Death Knights," causing harm to countless beings, with Yuan Niping herself being a victim of this cruelty, was reason enough for Su Yu not to let her go.

It had started with the Chief of Heroic Spirits and others pursuing Su Yu, but now the tables had turned, and it was Su Yu chasing after the Chief of Heroic Spirits.

Watching the Chief of Heroic Spirits shatter the Void and fleeing, Su Yu’s Divine Sense locked onto her completely. His Golden Arm reached out and tore through the space, following the Chief to the same dimension she had escaped to.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits sensed Su Yu catching up and panicked even more. She had suffered too much damage, even her soul was injured; now her only choice was to tear through space in a frantic and reckless flee.

Su Yu was silent, merely locking onto the Chief of Heroic Spirits. This was a chance that might never come again, and he would not allow the Chief of Heroic Spirits to escape, lest she became an endless calamity.

The original enforcers under the Chief of Heroic Spirits included the newly born "King of Spirit Heroes," Yuan Niping, the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye," and the vice-Chief, Guan Zixin.

Now with the vice-Chief, Guan Zixin, dead, Yuan Niping critically injured and her fate unknown, the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" mysteriously disappeared, leaving only the Chief of Heroic Spirits alone in her flight. Shortly, they re-emerged in the starry universe, surrounded by countless ancient behemoths, while in the distance, powerful members of the Light Clan were engaged in fierce battles with these primitive colossi.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits tore through space and vanished into it once more. Su Yu pursued, tearing open the space and disappearing from the spot along with her.

Both parties traversed countless spaces within the starry universe, the Chief of Heroic Spirits exerting all her might but unable to shake off Su Yu, who was getting closer and closer. Inside her five-kilometer Giant Arm that was the incarnation of herself, a considerable amount of Golden Blood was lost, her strength diminishing rapidly. She knew she couldn’t hold on any longer.

Finally, as she tore through the Void another time and appeared in an empty world, her five-kilometer Giant Arm incarnation plummeted down, crashing heavily onto the land below.

The Giant Arm was battered beyond repair, the power of the Magnetic Field still acting upon it, preventing it from restoring itself.

Su Yu caught up ten kilometers away from the Chief of Heroic Spirits and slowed down his pace. His Divine Sense locked onto the five-kilometer Giant Arm below. From his two-kilometer Golden Body, energy flowed ceaselessly, gathering within him his most potent force; he was ready to deliver the final, lethal blow to the Chief of Heroic Spirits.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits lay on the ground, her consciousness blurring, barely sustaining it, when suddenly, she noticed in the distance a towering, colossal, and majestic stone sculpture.

"The...statue..." the Chief of Heroic Spirits murmured to herself, having unintentionally fled through the Broken Void to this place. Even she didn’t know where this was, what world it was. Only when she barely focused her attention did she realize how vast this world was, with only one giant statue that reached up to the heavens, imbued with an indescribably ancient and primal aura.

Su Yu was about to blast the Chief of Heroic Spirits lying below when he suddenly felt something was off. He looked up and saw a towering stone statue in the distance. The statue, with a human body and dragon legs, had six arms and a pair of eyes, with earlobes sharp like halberds and horns on its head. Standing in this world, it reached up to the sky and was filled with an ancient and unspeakable primal aura.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits was captivated by the stone statue, and even Su Yu was momentarily stunned. But he quickly regained his senses, took a step forward, and extended his golden giant hand. Within his right arm, strands of energy converged, forming a terrifying golden flame with the power of 160 billion volts of super Thunder, which he then blasted out. It devoured the Chief of Heroic Spirits’ 5,000-meter-long Giant Arm, which by then had almost lost the power to move.

This was St. Elmo’s Fire, created from Thunder converted from 160 billion volts, generating an unimaginable high temperature capable of melting and incinerating everything.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits had already been severly injured by the Magnetic Field Power and now seemed to have lost the ability to move. Su Yu, utilizing the 160 billion volts of Lightning Power within his body to produce St. Elmo’s Fire, sought to burn both the Chief of Heroic Spirits’ soul and the battered Giant Arm to ashes.

The Chief of Heroic Spirits was engulfed by the flames and let out a mournful roar, which suddenly turned into a crazed laugh.

"Ha, hahaha—lowly humans, even if I’ve been gravely injured and temporarily lost my power, you cannot kill me. I am Immortal, my body, indestructible, existing as long as the starry universe itself. Ha, hahaha—"

The Chief of Heroic Spirits kept laughing maniacally as Su Yu continued to increase the Thunder energy, making St. Elmo’s Fire burn more intensely, even causing the Broken Void to collapse slightly. However, the battered Giant Arm being devoured by St. Aermo’s Flame didn’t seem to be damaged much. The Chief of Heroic Spirits continued her mocking laughter, scoffing at Su Yu’s ignorance.

"What’s going on? Could it be that her manifested Giant Arm... truly can’t be burned to destruction, completely indestructible? No, that can’t be right. Even so, her soul can’t withstand the scorching of St. Aermo’s Flame..."

Su Yu, hearing the Chief of Heroic Spirits’ derisive laughs, brought his hands together and once again executed the "Silent Destruction" strike, causing the already battered Giant Arm beneath him to become even more unrecognizable, several fingers breaking off. Yet, the Chief of Heroic Spirits was still laughing madly. The 5,000-meter-long Giant Arm, while it could be damaged to some extent, couldn’t be completely destroyed. Could it be that the Chief of Heroic Spirits was truly as she claimed, incapable of death?

Su Yu couldn’t help but think of the dismembered wooden man, who possessed a truly Immortal soul, incapable of being killed. Could the Chief of Heroic Spirits also be unkillable like him?

"Unkillable..." Su Yu had never anticipated such a result and was just about to contact Ada in his mind to see if he had any method to seal and suppress her with the Imperial Coffin as one does after dismemberment. The current Su Yu hadn’t reached that level. He couldn’t think of any way to contain the Chief of Heroic Spirits and prevent her escape.

At this moment, suddenly, a calm voice sounded from above the Broken Void: "Unkillable? Perhaps, I can give it a try..."

As this voice emerged, Su Yu paused, and the Chief of Heroic Spirits who was in the midst of mocking him also stopped cold. Immediately after, she exclaimed ecstatically: "Kenton, save me. Kill this brat quickly. Together, we can definitely kill him—"

Su Yu looked up, and following that voice, a crack slowly appeared above the Broken Void. Soon, the Sky-gazing Giant Eye opened, shining with a strange light, watching the scene of Su Yu and the Chief of Heroic Spirits being consumed by flames below.

St. Elmo’s Fire was ineffective; Su Yu slowly retracted the flames and got ready, saying, "I don’t want to be your enemy, but today, the Chief of Heroic Spirits must die."

The ten Golden Wings on his back were already spread wide. If the Eye of the Firmament intended to save the Chief of Heroic Spirits, Su Yu was ready to fight them.

"You can’t kill her... Only I, perhaps, can."

The words from the Eye of the Firmament were shocking. Su Yu heard them clearly, and so did the Chief of Heroic Spirits, who had been rejoicing below.

"What?" The Chief of Heroic Spirits couldn’t help but scream in disbelief: "Kenton, are you mad? Do you realize what you’re saying?"

The expression emanating from the "Eye of the Firmament" was very strange, and slowly a cluster of white light ascended. This white radiance quickly gathered and materialized into a middle-aged man in white robes.

The man’s face bore a resemblance to Yana, and Su Yu knew with one glance that he was the true manifestation of the Eye of the Firmament, Yana’s true father.

"This Giant Arm, like the Eye of the Firmament that I have received, originates from the same source, both of which truly cannot be destroyed. With this Giant Arm’s protection, she is unkillable. To kill her, one must tear her soul from this Giant Arm and then destroy her soul. That would suffice."
