Chapter 1263: Chapter 942 Giant Eye Reappears
Above the sky, densely packed warriors of various clans formed neat rows, with about a thousand warriors per row and ten rows in total, filling the void with precision.
On a plain not far from them, a terrifying crater had appeared; to have blasted such a crater into a planet infused with the Spirit of the Planet, one could imagine how immensely powerful that strike had been.
"Who are these people?" Zhang Zhongmou asked, astonished. Qin Jiagui looked up at the warriors in radiant armor filling the sky with a solemn expression on his face, glancing sideways at the Five-tailed Zhen perched on his shoulder, "Five-tailed Zhen, do you know?"
The Five-tailed Zhen slowly shook its head, its eyes faintly puzzled.
Seeing that even Five-tailed Zhen did not recognize them, Qin Jiagui said nothing more, simply rubbing his temples slightly. He had a very strange feeling, as, for the first time, an inexplicable agitation stirred within him.
Far on the other side of the planet stood a ten thousand-meter peak; at this moment, the blue Spear of Orthodoxy was implanted there, and the ten-meter-tall Master of Rules sat cross-legged before it.
Upon hearing the commotion, she opened her eyes and let out a cold chuckle, muttering, "What a nuisance, what the hell has come this time?"
Rising from the ground, she removed the "Spear of Orthodoxy" and "whooshed" towards the sky, rushing toward the site of the incident.
At this moment, a group of Black Warriors and others from the former Black Iron City had all retreated far away, understanding that this was not a battle they could interfere with.
Ada watched coldly as the ten phalanxes of ten thousand warriors clad in radiant armor took formation, frowning and muttering to himself, "If I’m not mistaken... this seems to be... seems like what’s it called..." He also seemed to have forgotten for a moment and couldn’t recall the name.
The Master of Rules, holding the "Spear of Orthodoxy," shot over in an instant and from afar saw the young warriors in radiant armor filling the sky, pausing slightly, murmuring to herself, "Aren’t they here for me? Then what is all this?"
Clearly, the Master of Rules did not recognize these warriors in radiant armor either; she had thought that this incoming enemy was yet another nuisance for her, but it seemed not to be the case now, since she did not recognize these warriors.
Just as she thought this, from the distant void above, a voice descended, "Beth Finley, ’He’ has issued an order to have you killed, so accept your fate—"
Following the voice, the sole surviving white-robed elder with a short white beard appeared among the originally eight men and women in white robes.
The Master of Rules’ sharp eyes narrowed slightly.
This old fellow actually hadn’t fled but chose to awaken "Him"? However, it seemed that "He" hadn’t shown up now, and were these radiant-armored warriors the old man’s reinforcements?
The Master of Rules sneered coldly. Although there were many of these radiant armor warriors, numbering in the thousands, the strength of each individual was inferior to hers. This difference in strength could not be made up for by sheer numbers, especially since she held the "Spear of Orthodoxy." Was this old fellow senile?
"Teacher, only you escaped. I didn’t expect you to come to your death anyway. Is it fate that all eight of you are destined to die because of me?"
The Master of Rules held the Spear of Orthodoxy and let out a faint, cold laugh. The white-robed elder paused overhead; in fact, he had never imagined that the "Her" his master had sent him to seek would only dispatch such a group of radiant-armored warriors, each looking quite young. How could this group of young warriors possibly contend with the Master of Rules?
Though skeptical, the white-robed elder still bravely retorted, "Beth Finley, don’t get cocky. ’He’ is already aware of your betrayal, and he will return sooner or later."
The Master of Rules laughed loudly, "By the time he returns, I may have completely assimilated this ’Spear of Orthodoxy’ and left this world. I’m not afraid of anything now, so stop the pointless talk. Are these the things you brought to deal with me?"
"Heh, these are not just ’things.’ These are the ’Valiant Death Knights,’ the strongest warriors of the ’Hall of Spirit Heroes.’
Suddenly, from above the ten thousand warriors in radiant armor, within the atmosphere, another man’s voice came down, carrying an authoritative tone. And when this voice resounded, all of a sudden, many gasped lightly, with Ada the most sensitive, exclaiming, "Why does this voice sound so familiar? This voice is... is..."
Suddenly, she cried out in shock, "You’re that guy from Giant Eye City—" She finally remembered, this voice, wasn’t it the voice of the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" from the "Giant Eye City" in the Upper Realm? Wasn’t that Yana’s father? When she thought about it, "he" and Su Yu had also intersected in the past.
Later, when the Child of Destiny flooded into the Upper Realm, the powers of the ten civilizations receded, and the "Giant Eye City" was left deserted, the whereabouts of the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" became a mystery. Ada never expected to suddenly hear the voice of the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" here.
"Valiant Death Knights? I remember now, these are the death knights trained by the Hall of Spirit Heroes. The ’Hall of Spirit Heroes’ existed in the previous era, and it’s unexpected that it would continue into this era. If these are indeed the Valiant Death Knights, we might be in trouble."
As soon as she recognized the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye," Ada also quickly reviewed what she knew about the "Hall of Spirit Heroes" and "Valiant Death Knights."
It seemed that because Ada had recognized him, the owner of the voice above the atmosphere no longer concealed himself. Suddenly, the atmosphere was torn open, and following that, an immensely large Sky-gazing Giant Eye emerged from the tear, its eyeball rolling to appear within the Giant Eye. At this moment, the eye, devoid of any emotion, coldly surveilled the mortals below.
The White-robed Elder, seeing such a massive eye suddenly appear overhead, instinctively felt a shiver and moved slightly out of the way.
Ada also furrowed her brow slightly, studying the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" in the void. Now possessing the strength of high-level Immortality, her perception was stronger, yet she found the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" unfathomably powerful.
"How is this possible, this guy is quite peculiar..." Ada pondered secretly, "The first time I saw ’him’ in the Upper Realm... At that time, ’his’ power level was only between a Totem and Immortal... Even considering what Su Yu told me later, that ’he’ had depleted so much of his primordial energy to save his daughter Yana... and his power kept declining, now that Yana has vanished, ’his’ spent primordial energy should have recovered, and he should have regained his former true power, it shouldn’t be possible that it would exceed medium-level Immortality... But if ’he’ is just medium-level Immortal strength, how can I not see through it, and even feel an unfathomable sense?"
For Ada, who couldn’t see through its existence now, there were very few, if any, equaled entities. How could the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" possibly rank so high? Could it be that "he" had always been suppressing his true power?
But if "he" truly was so mighty, why would he need to consider anything, to suppress any power and masquerade at a Totem-level?
Ada couldn’t understand. Observing the appearance of the Sky-gazing Giant Eye, the Master of Rules also showed a cautious stance, but with the Spear of Orthodoxy in hand, she had no fear at all as long as the Absolute Shield did not appear.
The "Spear of Orthodoxy" was legend to be a divine weapon capable of slaying even those at Peak Immortality. Although the Master of Rules could only utilise a tiny fraction of its power, it was enough to dispatch these beings of the starry universe.
The "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" appeared and glanced at Ada from afar. Upon seeing Ada’s current realm, it seemed to pause. Perhaps more so, "he" remembered Su Yu, the Master of Companion, but at the scene, "he" did not see Su Yu.
"Master of Rules, Beth Finley, is it?" chuckled the "Sky-gazing Giant Eye." "The Chief of Heroic Spirits, at the behest of your master, has ordered us to capture you and bring you back... I hope you will lay down your weapon and cease resistance."
With an air of unmistakable authority, the Sky-gazing Giant Eye spoke, to which the Master of Rules laughed, "I think you are mistaken. I, Beth Finley, have no master, and you think just the Valiant Death Knights and the Chief of Heroic Spirits are enough to contend with me, Beth Finley?"
With a wild laugh, her eyes flashed a sharp gaze as she suddenly threw the "Spear of Orthodoxy" in her hand, aiming at the Sky-gazing Giant Eye in the void.
Ada didn’t speak but whispered to the Black Warriors behind her and the people from the former Black Iron City, "You all should back off, and be careful not to get caught up in this battle."
Zhang Zhongmou and the others nodded and retreated. Even the usually arrogant Qing Huang chose to back away, but Qin Jiagui stood still, unmoving.
"Old Qin, what’s wrong?" Zhang Zhongmou tugged at him, puzzled; he sensed that Qin Jiagui seemed distracted.
Qin Jiagui shook his head, simply gazing up at the sky where the Valiant Death Knights swarmed, a strange premonition growing stronger within him, and a hot, painful sensation gradually spread through his body.
Above, as the "Spear of Orthodoxy" flew from grasp, the White-robed Elder busied himself retreating far away, well aware of the terrifying power of the "Spear of Orthodoxy," and thus appeared more fearful of the spear than anyone else.
The "Sky-gazing Giant Eye" observed the blue spear flying toward it and coldly commanded, "First squad, assemble in ’Tortoise Elephant Formation’, defend—"
Following his voice, out of the tens of thousands of Valiant Death Knights in the sky, a thousand-troop squad, with a rustling sound, changed formation instantly and intercepted the "Spear of Orthodoxy" midway.
The Master of Rules watched from below with a cold gaze. She was curious to see how these Valiant Death Knights could block the "Spear of Orthodoxy," knowing that not even Immortal warriors dare to directly block it—yet none of these Valiant Death Knights possessed the realm of an Immortal.
