Chapter 1248: Chapter 931: Searching for Home
This battle raged for a full day and night, and the expanding and contracting star seemed as though it could trigger a massive explosion at any moment and burst open completely. Yet, it always seemed to lack something; ultimately, the energy of the forces battling within grew increasingly feeble, and the power released by the "Spear of Orthodoxy" and the "Absolute Shield" began to wane.
This decline accelerated, and soon, these two ultimate weapons of the starry universe began to fall silent, while the originally violently energetic star slowly returned to its normal state.
The Master of Rules, Beth Finley, hummed lightly. Having recovered some strength, she rushed into the heart of the star.
Su Yu frowned slightly, worried she might encounter some mishap, and felt compelled to follow her in.
Fortunately, the energy of the star had gradually stabilized and was no longer as violent as before. With the strength of the Master of Rules, even near its surface, it was still bearable.
When they reached the scene of the clash between the Spear of Orthodoxy and the Absolute Shield, they found both weapons floating silently in space—one, a long spear with a blue jade hue engraved with complex and precise charms, and the other, a round shield densely covered in blue lines forming patterns similar to a Bagua.
Without a doubt, this round shield was the Absolute Shield that could rival the "Spear of Orthodoxy."
The Master of Rules, holding the "Spear of Orthodoxy," picked up the round shield and handed it to Su Yu with a smile, "This is the Absolute Shield, for you."
Su Yu looked at the fairly modest-sized round shield, thinking of the mechanical giant turtle summoned by the duo in white robes, never expecting that the real form of the Absolute Shield would be such an inconspicuous one.
Su Yu did not stand on ceremony with her and placed the shield into his storage ring.
The Master of Rules held the "Spear of Orthodoxy," and soon, the spear transformed into a long rainbow. The rainbow split into nine, materializing into nine spears of rules that fell and stood guard around her body, immediately repelling the terrifying energy of the star.
"Let’s go," said the Master of Rules, turning to burst out of the star.
The core world of the planet had been completely destroyed, and naturally, she would no longer stay here. Alongside Su Yu, they covered a billion meters in an instant to arrive at a different location. Here, Ada had formed a massive energy barrier, protecting everyone within.
These people included residents of Black Iron City, Netherworld people from Skeleton Ice City, and a group of Black Warriors who had always followed Ada. There was a substantial number. Over the years, despite the changes in the starry universe, they were safe within this core world of the planet, marrying and having children. Now the total population had reached two thousand, many of whom were children.
"How did it go?" Ada approached.
Su Yu nodded and said, "It’s mostly resolved." He thought to himself that receiving the "Absolute Shield" was an unexpected boon.
The Master of Rules’ eyes swirled slightly, and the nine spears of rules around her began to vanish. Suddenly, she looked at Su Yu with a strange smile, "Kid, what comes next is up to you. Anyway, the planet cores I had prepared before have all been destroyed. Now I’m homeless, so you figure out the rest. I’m too tired."
After saying these words, her eyes slowly closed, and soon, her presence changed. The ten-meter tall figure in white robes gradually disappeared, revealing Lei Leian’s body.
With her eyes opening, Su Yu swiftly waved his hand, enveloping her in a veil of energy to protect her from any possible harm from undercurrents or radiation in the universe.
"Su Yu." Although everything had been controlled by Beth Finley, as the Master of Rules, Lei Leian was fully aware of it all. Opening her beautiful eyes, she said with some hesitation, "We have nowhere to go now, what do we do?"
Su Yu smiled lightly and replied, "There’s no need to worry about that. We’ll just find another place. Ada, what do you think?"
Ada was about to speak when a soft whimper came from within the protection of her enormous energy barrier.
Hearing this, Lei Leian’s delicate face shifted slightly. From the crowd, Feng Ming excitedly called out, "Sister!"
Feng Ya, who had been heavily injured and fallen into a coma, had finally awakened.
The moment Feng Ya woke up, she cried out in panic, "Ao Lei—"
Opening her eyes, she found herself surrounded by people. Pausing briefly in confusion, she quickly tried to sit up and saw Ao Lei’s body lying quietly beside her, only half intact.
"Ao Lei—" Feng Ya embraced Ao Lei’s body, and upon sensing his condition, her face turned pale.
Ao Lei’s body felt devoid of a soul, yet there lingered a faint and elusive life force pulsing within him, as if to signify that he had not utterly perished.
"Ao Lei, Ao Lei, wake up, Ao Lei—" Feng Ya was frantic with panic. Behind the crowd, Lei Leian’s pretty face turned deathly pale, her body trembling slightly. Su Yu drew close to her, gently encircling her waist with his arm.
Lei Leian seemed to have not an ounce of strength left in her. Held by Su Yu, she collapsed into his arms, burying her head and face from view. She couldn’t bear to look at her mother in her state of panicked screaming, nor did she want to hear her voice, but she found it impossible to forgive her parents.
"Sister, don’t be like this, calm down," Feng Ming embraced his sister, pleading.
Feng Ya, once the pride of the Amori Clan and a Divine-level Expert, now resembled a madwoman.
"Stop shouting; Ao Lei isn’t completely dead. All your crying won’t wake him. Instead of weeping here, it would be better to think of a way to save him."
Suddenly, Ada’s cold voice rang out from the crowd.
She had always found Ao Lei and his wife disagreeable, but at the moment, she was particularly impatient with Feng Ya’s wailing. Out of consideration for Lei Leian’s feelings, however, she couldn’t simply abandon them.
Although Ada’s voice was cold, Feng Ya clung to her words as if they were a decree from the heavens. Instantly, she stopped crying and, as if remembering something important, she knelt down in front of Ada and Su Yu, pleading, "You... you must save Ao Lei, please, I beg you. Lei Leian, you... you have to save your father."
Lei Leian said nothing. Su Yu held her tightly, looking at Feng Ya’s pathetic state with a bitter smile and a sigh, "Elder, please stand. We are masters of our fate; there may be a way yet. For now, calm down, and let’s think this through slowly."
Ada snorted, "At the very least, we need to find a place to settle, don’t we? Are we to stay here?"
Hearing Su Yu and Ada speak in such a manner, Feng Ya regained her composure. Looking around, they were all still suspended in the starry universe, silently observed by thousands. Realizing her own indiscretion, Feng Ya quickly wiped the tears from her face, stood up, and then personally picked up Ao Lei, who now had only half a body, whispering, "I understand, thank you all... you must save Ao Lei."
Ada paid her no further attention, turning instead to Su Yu, "We need to decide where to go from here."
Su Yu hummed in agreement, deep in thought, "Ada, any ideas?"
Ada replied, "Let’s try our luck and see if we can find a planet suitable for us to live on. Currently, no race or power is likely to shelter us. Besides... it’s better to fend for ourselves than to live at the mercy of others, right?"
Su Yu nodded. He had initially thought of temporarily taking everyone to the Heart of Loulan planet for shelter, unaware that the Heart of Loulan had long since been destroyed, vanishing from the universe.
However, after hearing Ada’s words, he felt there was wisdom in them. Rather than seeking refuge elsewhere, why not find a suitable planet and create their own world?
With this mindset, he immediately discarded the idea of heading to the Heart of Loulan.
"Let’s go. In this starry universe, it’s not difficult to find an uninhabited planet, but finding one with a pleasant climate suitable for living is a challenge," Ada chuckled, joining hands with Su Yu, creating two energy shields that encompassed two thousand people and began to propel towards the depths of the universe.
"First, we should target a star. Typically, there are one or several planets orbiting around any given star, which makes searching much easier," Ada stated as she began to lock in coordinates, then summoning the power of the "Abyss" to teleport everyone away from the void. When they reappeared, they had arrived within a star system.
Inside this star system, three planets revolved around a star.
Ada and Su Yu expanded their Divine Senses to explore the three planets. One was scorchingly hot due to its proximity to the star, akin to a fiery inferno, another was excessively cold and frigid from being too distant, and the last was shrouded in terrifying toxic gases, an uncommon toxic planet and unsuitable for habitation.
"Too bad, none of them are suitable. Let’s continue searching," said Ada, and once again, targeting another star, she summoned the power of the "Abyss" to transport everyone away once more.
As Ada and the others reappeared in the void again, horrific roars reached their ears from afar. Countless ancient behemoths, forming a beast wave like a tsunami, rolled thunderously towards them from the horizon, targeting a nearby planet evidently inhabited by living creatures. Ada and the group had just appeared between the oncoming wave of ancient behemoths and the planet.
The tremendous sight of the beast wave, composed of ancient creatures each hundreds or even thousands of meters in size, left even Su Yu and Ada relatively unfazed, given their experiences. However, to those like Qing Huang, Qin Jiagui, Zhang Zhongmou, Su Yun, and others, this was their first encounter with such a terrifying tsunami of creatures, and they couldn’t help but cry out in horror.
For them, this scene was overwhelmingly shocking.
"What are those?" Even the formidable Qing Huang couldn’t help but cry out in astonishment.
