Chapter 1246: Chapter 929 Awakening "That One" (Begging for Monthly Pass)_2
The white-haired man who could wield the "Rules of Life and Death" also couldn’t escape the rules of life and death. From living to dying, his existence vanished from this starry universe.
The original eight white-robed figures, one devoured by the Fiery Demon Bull King, one slain by the burst of power from the Spear of Orthodoxy, and two more killed by Su Yu, left only four white-robed figures remaining.
After Su Yu struck down the white-haired man, the remaining four, including an old man with a short white beard on his lip, immediately exerted all his strength to flee into the distance. Another sought to tear through space for direct teleportation escape, two others fled in different directions, and the last one simply charged into the heart of a star, hoping for a desperate counterattack. He believed Su Yu wouldn’t dare follow him into this most dangerous of stars, and maybe he could even escape with his life.
After killing the white-haired man, Su Yu’s body twisted and he launched himself at the white-robed man trying to tear through space, killing him instantly. Such attempts at teleportation were usually the first to be targeted by enemies. Then he hurled the "Golden Giant Hammer" far away.
A hundred streams of explosive energy surged into the Golden Giant Hammer, transforming it into a gleam of golden light that instantaneously struck the back of a white-robed woman frantically fleeing.
The explosion of energy contained within the Golden Giant Hammer split her body in two, then burst apart.
Eight hundred billion bolts of Golden Thunder and Lightning were unleashed in full force, forming a tree-shaped golden flash that struck the white-robed man attempting to rush into the heart of the star.
The man howled, instantly charred into a crisp by the lightning, and as the star’s terrifying energy burst forth again, his body shattered into countless pieces.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye; Su Yu single-handedly slaughtered five white-robed figures. Then, he had to stop and catch his breath, for that moment of explosive action had drained all his strength. By the time he regained his breath and thought to chase after the white-bearded white-robed elder, the latter had already fled millions of meters away, then tearing through space, he escaped.
Su Yu knew it was too late, he could only watch helplessly as the white-robed elder got away.
Each of these white-robed figures was extremely powerful, but it’s a pity that amid the massive explosion of energy from the "Spear of Orthodoxy" and the "Absolute Shield," they, along with the Master of Rules, were at the epicenter of the explosion. The Master of Rules was heavily injured, and they were no exception. This allowed Su Yu to easily strike them down, killing five and letting one escape.
Out of the eight white-robed figures, seven perished in a short time, with only one white-robed elder escaping. The Master of Rules himself was severely injured and, watching the white-robed elder escape, he couldn’t help but sneer and mutter, "Seven dead... and even the Absolute Shield and the Spear of Orthodoxy are lost, I’m afraid... he won’t dare return. Otherwise, when ’that one’ awakens, he too cannot escape death."
"As long as no one disturbs, ’that one’ will not wake up soon. I have enough time to refine the ’Spear of Orthodoxy.’ With Lei Leian’s body that channels all energies, I have full confidence... Just one last step to true eternal immortality. Even if ’that one’ awakes, what can he do to me? Heh... hehe..."
The Master of Rules sneered inwardly, a hint of a smile creeping onto his face. Su Yu, having slaughtered five people, watched the white-robed elder escape and knew he couldn’t catch up, so he gave up. Turning back, he strode through the void and spoke in a deep voice, "Master of Rules, what do we do now? Can you take the ’Spear of Orthodoxy’ back?"
The Master of Rules shook his head, "I think we can only wait for them to fight to a mutual defeat... Don’t worry, I’ll keep the ’Spear of Orthodoxy,’ and the ’Absolute Shield’ will be yours... We’ll have a fair trade, I won’t let your efforts go in vain."
To refine even a single "Spear of Orthodoxy" was unknown how long it would take, and now the Master of Rules was not greedy, generously offering the "Absolute Shield" to Su Yu.
Su Yu shook his head slightly. He hadn’t intervened and killed those white-robed figures out of greed for the "Absolute Shield"; his concern was for Lei Leian. But after hearing the Master of Rules’ words, he did not speak further, just watching from a distance the horrifying battle within the star. Both he and the Master of Rules could see that the "Absolute Shield" was a weapon capable of matching the "Spear of Orthodoxy," one heavy on offense, the other on defense, as their names indicated. Now that the spirits of the two weapons were rampaging and fighting each other, it was unknown how long it would take for a victor to emerge.
Meanwhile, the Master of Rules and Su Yu waited for the "Spear of Orthodoxy" and the "Absolute Shield" to settle down from their rampage. The white-bearded white-robed elder who had escaped had already torn through space, fleeing to a secret location unknown to anyone.
He had fled through a random transmigration, to a place he didn’t know at all. All around was eerily quiet, and far off, one could see the twinkling, glowing stars.
Further in the distance, one could see a planet with a faint sense of living creatures.
The White-robed Elder sensed from afar and, perceiving that the life forms on this planet were of a lower tier, his figure blurred as he dashed into the atmosphere. Upon entering, he breathed in the fresh air and then landed on a peak to halt.
This was a world where life had evolved in rather primitive and rudimentary ways; afar one could see some birds and beasts, and no higher intelligent races had emerged.
The White-robed Elder had no interest in observing these and simply found a tall mountain to sit on. Just as the Master of Rules had guessed, for the moment, he actually dared not return to the original Radiant World.
"They all died, only I survived... now, not only Spear of Orthodoxy, even the Absolute Shield has been lost... If I go back, once ’he’ awakens, I fear... he won’t spare me..."
"Going back, I will likely face death, so why not just escape? And then live incognito?" The White-robed Elder pondered, then suddenly shook his head while talking to himself: "No, no... Not to mention ’his’ vast magical powers, he will surely be able to find me, and besides, I am absolutely not content to live as an ordinary person... If I flee and ’he’ finds me, the outcome might be worse than death. If I return, ’he’ might still kill me when he awakes... but it’s not a hundred percent certainty... Maybe... there’s still a sliver of hope... His temper is unpredictable, nobody knows ’his’ true intentions..."
After long contemplation, the White-robed Elder realized that escaping now would surely lead to death, perhaps something even more terrible, whereas returning held a ninety-nine percent chance of death, but still one percent chance of life.
After this reflection, he finally decided to go back.
That, the Master of Rules had not anticipated.
"To hell with it, my current plight is all because of that bitch Beth Finley. Everyone’s dead; there’s no sense in me surviving alone. Risking death, I cannot let her get away with it." The White-robed Elder clenched his teeth in fury, tearing open the space to begin teleporting back. At that very moment, he made up his mind; he was going to awaken "that one."
With a fierce expression, the White-robed Elder finally reappeared back in the "Radiant World."
This world, filled with tranquility and enveloped in splendor, seemed silent and deserted, yet the White-robed Elder knew it possessed the most formidable defenses in existence. Even if the Master of Rules came hunting him here, he would not be afraid.
Upon entering the Radiant World, the White-robed Elder quickly arrived inside one of its grand palaces.
This palace was elongated with vast, spacious interiors, and nine rainbow-like bridges formed an arc converging at a central point.
Hanging over this massive circular platform at the center were three stone coffins engraved with charms. In the middle of the three stone coffins, arranged in a triangle, lay a partial golden skeleton, quietly resting.
The partial golden skeleton, with only the skull and both arm bones remaining, all other parts vanished. Most astonishing were the three stone coffins surrounding it, which were strikingly similar to the Imperial Coffins that had sealed the wooden men’s bodies.
