Chapter 1190: Chapter 889: The True God’s Test Subject

"A true God... it is not yet, but it possesses power nearly akin to challenging the gods... It must be an experimental subject."

Tezcatlipoca’s words left Su Yu stunned before he said, "An experiment? It is an experiment?"

The semi-translucent blue figure of Tezcatlipoca nodded slightly and said, "This world, I once visited in a very distant era... And it was here that I suffered a heavy blow..."

When Tezcatlipoca spoke up to this point, his face was crossed with a hint of helplessness and horror, then he looked up slightly and murmured, "However, this place seems to have been abandoned. What once happened here, I’m afraid no one knows."

Tezcatlipoca’s words caused Su Yu to be slightly stunned again; after a pause, he then said, "Teacher, you said it’s an experiment... but what was it an experiment for?"

Tezcatlipoca shook his head somewhat woodenly, "I don’t know. What can be confirmed now is that its body definitely carries the genes of the ’Ancient Life Beast’... perhaps even the lineage of the Demon Divine Beast. The purpose of the experiment might have been to create a more powerful being, or perhaps, to breed a new species... For me, of the past, this place was a nightmare..."

At this point, Tezcatlipoca let out a faint cold laugh. Coming here again, he had become but a wisp of a remnant soul, however, there was not much fear left in his heart.

Su Yu frowned slightly, and after a long while he asked, "Teacher, is it dead?"

Tezcatlipoca sighed, "If it was going to die, it would have died long ago. Since it’s not dead, I think, it’s not something that your Giant Will can kill... I’ll still try awakening it."

As Tezcatlipoca spoke, his hands lifted slightly, beginning to stimulate the energy of the "Chaos Core" within his body. Waves of blue brilliance spread out, and Su Yu exclaimed in surprise, "Teacher, you want to awaken it?"

At that time, he had exerted all his strength, even fully relying on the Giant Will to awaken that golden six-dragons six-wings being. He had no idea how long he slept to finally suppress the Crowned Giant, ending up both greatly damaged. Now, Tezcatlipoca was going to awaken it again? Su Yu did not have the confidence to withstand the Crowned Giant once more.

Tezcatlipoca said, "Don’t worry."

While speaking, he infused the energy of the Chaos Core into the body of the Crowned Giant. With just a gentle tremor, the Crowned Giant, which had not shown any sign of life, suddenly seemed activated, as vast amounts of life energy surged forth tumultuously.

Su Yu hurriedly backed away, bracing for battle. The Crowned Giant truly seemed impossible to kill; even after suffering terrible injuries and losing all signs of life, it appeared as though it had died, yet a single vibration would instantly awaken it again, and its spirit and energy would fully return to their peak condition. This terrifying ability, even if not truly divine, seemed not far off.

However, Tezcatlipoca seemed not to fear, simply watching calmly as the Crowned Giant slowly opened its eyes.

A pair of inscrutable Giant Eyes opened, and with a slight push of its palms, the three thousand meters tall giant slowly rose from the deep pit in the earth.

Suddenly, its upper body, which had just sat up, collapsed again. Su Yu was first taken aback, then quickly remembered. The spine of the Crowned Giant had been torn out during the fierce battle by the golden six-dragons six-wings being.

As the Crowned Giant fell, a soft roar escaped its mouth. Suddenly, its palms struck the ground with force, and amidst the thunderous sound, a thousand meters long spine flew back from the distance through the air, caught in its giant hand, and then slowly reinserted into its back.

With a "click" of a crisp sound, the spine was placed back into its body, and the Crowned Giant slowly and straightly sat up again. Its eyes swept around, landing on Su Yu and the semi-transparent Tezcatlipoca facing it.

Seeing Su Yu, it immediately recognized him as the being it had fought fiercely with. Its gaze shifted slightly as Tezcatlipoca spoke in a deep voice, "This place is the test site where you were born. Why has it been abandoned now? You should be an incomplete product, so why were you imprisoned in that palace?"

Tezcatlipoca suddenly bombarded the crowned giant with several questions, causing it to pause before its gaze fell upon Tezcatlipoca, and gradually, its expression began to change.

"I mean no harm; we just want to understand this matter. Perhaps, we could help you."

With just a few simple words from Tezcatlipoca, the crowned giant didn’t rage. Instead, a look of puzzled uncertainty began to appear on its face. Su Yu approached slowly, observing that the giant’s temperament didn’t seem cruel. In fact, during the battle with the various immortal tribes, it was the Immortals who attacked the crowned giant first, which provoked its fury and anger.

Staring at Tezcatlipoca, the crowned giant eventually opened its mouth, and only then did Tezcatlipoca and Su Yu realize that its tongue was only half intact; the other half of the tip looked as if it had been severed by someone.

Su Yu watched, his heart tightening. The crowned giant let out a faint roar, and then, an almost imperceptible message began to echo in their ears: "Experiment... product... how do you know... about this..."

Although it had lost half of its tongue and could only emit simple growls and howls, the crowned giant still managed to use its consciousness to vibrate the air, producing a faintly audible voice.

Sadness showed on Tezcatlipoca’s face as he looked at the crowned giant and said gravely, "Because I too have been here before... even used as an experiment... Though I’ve escaped, only a wisp of my soul remains."

Those words made the crowned giant involuntarily lift its head and suddenly let out a roar to the sky, filled with resentment.

"Follow... me..."

With that roar, the crowned giant, towering three thousand meters tall, stood up and started walking away with long strides into the distance.

Tezcatlipoca whispered to Su Yu, "Let’s follow it. This world has been abandoned. Perhaps, we can uncover something. This secret has plagued me for thousands of years, and I never thought I would get another chance to enter this place."

Su Yu had a mind full of questions but could only nod in agreement. He had entered the Ancient Life Continent with An Xue, but now, he found himself in this world with the crowned giant. As for An Xue’s life or death, it was beyond his concern. In such a terrifying realm, given An Xue’s status as a Second Level Totem, unless luck allowed her to tear through the void and escape, she faced certain death.

"I was created... as a god... for a tribe..." The crowned giant spoke in almost imperceptible whispers as it marched onward, Su Yu and Tezcatlipoca following closely behind. Familiar with the terrain, the giant quickly led them over a large mountain to a vast expanse of ruins from enormous buildings.

Once, magnificent structures must have stood here, yet now, they were all ruins. When Su Yu and Tezcatlipoca arrived, they both caught their breath; among the ruins lay a row of giants, nearly identical to the crowned giant and also three thousand meters tall. These giants, however, lacked crowns, with some missing arms, others legs, or even half their heads—none were intact.

They lay there, silent, devoid of any signs of life. Su Yu looked on from afar, his scalp tingling at the thought that if these giants were as powerful and terrifying as the crowned one and came to life, who could withstand them rampaging across the heavens?

"These... are all failures... not yet given life... no need to fear..."

The crowned giant seemed to sense the emotional turmoil of Su Yu and Tezcatlipoca, emitting a faint sound. It stepped into the ruins, and soon, Su Yu noticed a very peculiar spot amid the wreckage.

It was a cross-shaped boulder embedded within the ruins, upon which a body was nailed.

Four blue giant nails pierced the body’s hands and feet, fastening it firmly to the boulder of the cross. At first glance, the corpse appeared almost ordinary, draped in black curly hair, with a thick beard, eyes closed, and limbs nailed to the cross by blue nails. It had an eerily peaceful demeanor. On closer inspection, one might notice the dead’s face was almost identical to the crowned giant’s, though the crowned one was a thousand times larger.

Tezcatlipoca stared at the body nailed to the cross-shaped boulder, also stunned, and finally said in surprise, "This is..."

The crowned giant stopped and, pointing to the body nailed to the rock, whispered slowly, "He... could be considered my father... I, and all these failures, were crafted using his cells, combined with those of other creatures. But only I inherited a hint of his divinity... I was worshipped as a god by my tribe, and I came to believe... that I too was a true deity... Reveling daily in the energy offerings of my people... I grew stronger and stronger. At one point, I even thought I... was the master of all in the universe and all living beings... the sole omnipotent god... until that day arrived..." (To be continued.
