Chapter 104: Chapter 102 One Thing Supersedes Another

These hundreds of tiny jellyfish hovered in the air, slowly landing on the ground. They then extended string-like tentacles, preparing to fuse deep into the earth to embark on the journey of their life.

The third type of hybrid between plants and animals, the "Earth Mother", will release an abundance of life seeds at the last moment of its life. These life seeds will parasitize all life forms, whether animal or plant. They then absorb the nutrients from the host’s body for growth, eventually breaking the cocoon and returning to the earth. Out of the thousands of seeds, only one in a hundred thousand has the chance to give birth to a "Golden Earth Mother". The "Golden Earth Mother" will need to undergo thousands of years to form a single drop of "Golden Blood".

This alone proves the preciousness of the "Golden Blood".

What Qin Jiagui and Yuan Niping saw was the "Earth Mother" seedlings in the bodies of the dead Goblin infants growing into unique beings. After absorbing sufficient nutrients, they began to leave the host’s body to return to the earth.

This scene was dreamlike and beautiful. Qin Jiagui and Yuan Niping hid quietly behind a tree to watch, their eyes wide, totally engrossed with the scene before them.

Just as the glowing little jellyfish began to descend to the ground about to return to the earth, a rustling sound was heard from the other side. Then, a tall, dark shadow strode over.

Opening its mouth, a forked, crimson tongue shot out, quickly enveloping three of the jellyfish that were about to hit the ground, and pulled them into its gaping mouth.

This happened so suddenly that Qin Jiagui’s heart skipped a beat and Yuan Niping on his side almost screamed out loud. She hurriedly covered her mouth with both hands.

Assisted by the soft white light emitted by the jellyfish, Qin Jiagui saw the tall, dark shadow that suddenly emerged from the other side. It was a creature covered in scales, resembling a Python.

Although this creature had the body of a robust python, it also had four limbs which allowed it to stand and walk. Upon initial observation, it looked like an alligator standing on its hind legs, only with the head of a frog. Its bulging eyes and wide mouth contained a tongue that darted in and out like a swift arrow, dragging the jellyfish into its mouth. It happened so swiftly that in the blink of an eye, it had ingested more than half of the hundred jellyfish around.

Suddenly encountering such a creature, cold sweat broke out on Jiagui and Niping’s hands.

"What should we do now? Should we wake everyone up and flee? Or confront this monster? Or... will it leave after eating these jellyfish?" Qin Jiagui had many thoughts racing through his mind in that instant. The monster’s physique indicated it was not going to be easy to deal with, but at the moment, it doesn’t seemed to have noticed them.

The jellyfish seemed to panic with vibrations shaking through their hovering bodies. However, their speed was too slow, although trying to descend and bury into the earth quickly, they were always a step too late. In just two to three minutes, hundreds of these little jellyfish were consumed by the nameless creature.

The Earth Mother, which looks like a small jellyfish, possesses a poisonous effect that can cause hallucinations. Even stronger than a Golden Goblin King or a Golden Goblin, they would avoid making any contact with it. However, everything has its natural enemy, and the creature before their eyes feeds on the young of the "Earth Mother". Its poison serves as a great supplement for the creature.

With a hissing sound, Qin Jiagui was horrified to see the tree trunk immediately emanating green smoke and melting to form a small hole.

Drawing in a sharp breath, he realized that the creature’s tongue was covered with a horrible poison.

"Niping, fall back quickly!" Jiagui roared at Yuan Niping to pull back, while extending his right arm. Half of his arm instantly turned to steel. However, he did not directly attack, instead, he dodged to the side. He intended to temporarily hold back the creature until the others could join him, and then they could all deal with the creature together.

He doesn’t have the "Perception Eye" so he is unable to gauge the level or the ferocity of the creature. But still, his instincts were telling him that this monster is dangerous and confronting it alone could be perilous.

On the other side, Ma Ziye, Zhang Zhongmou, Zhao Shichang, and Zhou Birong were gradually regaining consciousness.

Zhou Birong stood up and pulled out her gun from her waist, firing consecutively with resounding gunshots.

The creature, which had just rushed over, let out a terrible roar. All six bullets hit it but only caused sparks as they hit its body. The creature’s outer scales were extremely tough. The six bullets only broke one or two scales and did not even leave a wound.

Zhou Birong dropped her gun, her right hand mutating into three black hook-shaped claws as she leaped into the air, lunging at the creature.

She and Zhao Shichang attacked the creature together, with Ma Ziye closely trailing them, ready to launch her "Steel Web".

This was a coordinated attack method they had practiced before. Zhou Birong, Zhao Shichang and the others blocked for Ma Ziye, all for the purpose of letting her focus on launching the "Steel Web" to trap the dangerous enemy.

Qin Jiagui, who had dodged to the side, noticed that Zhao Shichang, Zhou Birong, and Ma Ziye had begun their attack and immediately activated his "Iron Fist Demolition" skill, shouting as he charged forward.

Ma Ziye stomped her foot, and black rope-like strands intertwined and spread from her foot, quickly forming a steel substance, sticking to the ground and extending swiftly like a spider web.

The creature never expected such a swift and coordinated response from the group. It could sense that the group was much weaker compared to it, and that’s why it decided to rush over. When it finally realized something was wrong, Ma Ziye’s "Steel Web" had expanded. Ma Ziye was on the verge of breaking through to the Second-Level, which allowed her "Steel Web" to launch faster and with a more powerful force. In the blink of an eye, the creature’s feet were captured by it.

Zhou Birong, Zhao Shichang, and Qin Jiagui attacked from three directions.

With a thud, a flash of crimson light swept across like a whip. Zhou Birong suddenly let out a harrowing scream and fell to the ground, clutching her face, releasing a terrible cry.
