In mid-air, a man with silver hair stood suspended. He held his hands behind his back, his expression as cold as ice. Dressed in a white robe, he gazed down at the crowd of Nanjiang people with his phoenix eyes half-closed.
"Who is this man? He doesn’t seem that old! Why does he have a full head of silver hair?"
The people of Nanjiang began to whisper among themselves.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Great Han’s National Master, Feng Wushang! Welcome to our great nation of Great Han!"
"Feng... Feng Wushang?"
The Nanjiang people panicked, each of them adopting a defensive stance.
"Indeed, it is I. Great Wizard, you’ve been cowering in the Nanjiang Royal Court for the past twenty years, like a turtle hiding in its shell, never setting foot outside the Main Gate, let alone the inner gates. This National Master thought you had finally given up! I never imagined you still harbored such wicked designs, even daring to steal Great Han’s Dragon Vein and plot to subvert the destiny of our Great Han Country. What a grand scheme!"
Feng Wushang looked towards the Wizard who was holding a staff and praying incessantly to the heavens. The Great Wizard’s face was now flushed red—a sign of his depleted Witch Power!
"National Master Feng! How could you be here? Why? We were so careful! How did you discover us? And how did you get here so quickly?"
Upon seeing Great Han’s National Master, Xu Dashan, who had been hiding in Great Han for years, panicked. He looked at the National Master with fear in his eyes.
However, the National Master paid him no heed, instead looking at the child with a scar on her face. He found this child quite endearing; she showed such fearlessness despite her young age. However, her features suggested a lack of fortune, as if she were devoid of any luck at all.
"Why waste words on him? Since he’s here, let’s kill him and consecrate our war banner! This will perfectly dampen the spirits of the young Emperor of Great Han!"
Lord Xihai of Nanjiang stepped forward, weapon in hand, gathering his Qi to strike at the National Master.
"Great Wizard, you can continue the ceremony without worry. I will stop him."
Lord Xihai perceived that the Great Wizard was at a critical juncture in the ritual and intended to hold off Feng Wushang.
However, just as he finished speaking, another languid voice drifted from behind them.
"Such a shame, those of merit among you Nanjiang are too few. Your Great Wizard’s opponent has never been Feng Wushang!"
Upon hearing this voice and these words, the Nanjiang people present were all startled and turned to look towards the source of the sound.
It was, surprisingly, a middle-aged man seated in a wheelchair.
The man was dressed in a white robe and held a fan made of jade bone, appearing rather frail.
The man pushing his wheelchair also seemed extraordinary. This person was powerfully built and looked exceptionally capable, with two scimitars hanging from his waist. Judging purely from the aura he exuded, his martial prowess... had likely reached an incredible, perhaps even peak, level.
The Nanjiang people quickly searched their memories but found no information whatsoever about this man!
"Who... who are you?" an alarmed Xu Dashan pointed at Ji Youyuan and Ji Youbo, his voice trembling as he asked.
"Who I am is not important. Right now, I’m offering you an opportunity. Halt the ceremony, release these children, and Great Han might still spare you a way out!"
"That’s impossible!" Xu Dashan refused outright without a second thought. He had spent many years in Great Han, waiting for this very day. How could he possibly give up now?
