A Crazy Love Proposal -
Chapter 254 - 254 134 Im Not Against Marriage_2
Chapter 254: Chapter 134 I’m Not Against Marriage_2 Chapter 254: Chapter 134 I’m Not Against Marriage_2 Surprise trembled in the light of her eyes.
A pure white convertible Ferrari drove on the road to Hongqiao.
While waiting for the traffic light, Wen Yangzhi put on his Bluetooth headset and dialed a number; the person on the other end got straight to the point upon answering:
“Yuwan knows about my boundary disorder, what should I do now?”
His voice didn’t carry the panic of someone crying for help, but from the sound of it, it was as though one could see his serious face, which seldom broke into a smile.
Wen Yangzhi had never discussed it with Jiang Jianqing, and although Jiang Jianqing had his suspicions, he was still taken aback by Wen Yangzhi’s forthrightness:
“Boundary disorder… did you tell her that you won’t marry her?”
The traffic light finally changed, Wen Yangzhi’s handsome face grew tense, he started the car, the wind from the convertible fluttering his collar: “Yes.”
Jiang Jianqing was certainly no pushover; with a Master’s degree in psychology, he guessed immediately: “Is she now speaking to you very gently, as if whatever you say doesn’t truly bother her, making it seem like your mistakes are trivial, yet she refuses to see you?”
Wen Yangzhi’s heart was in disarray, but he controlled his voice: “Right, she’s bought a ticket to return to Europe.”
Jiang Jianqing quickly reminded his good brother, afraid he would go the wrong way:
“Don’t confront her or press her; she may seem like there’s still room for negotiation, but she’s actually just holding back her anger, wanting to save face. In reality, she’s already cut ties, and if you go after her now, she’ll definitely delete and block you. Whatever means you try to contact her with, she’ll completely cut you off so you won’t be able to find her at all, because she’s at the peak of loathing you.”
It felt like a heavy hammer had struck Wen Yangzhi’s heart.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Wen Yangzhi clenched his teeth, checked the rearview mirror, changed lanes and stopped, but without explaining, he directly asked:
“Can you give your brother a call?”
Jiang Jianqing, puzzled: “Why call Jiang Yingyu?”
His voice was deep: “Please, it’s a favor.”
Though Jiang Jianqing didn’t understand why, he immediately hung up the phone and soon called back:
“I don’t know what you want to ask but when I asked him what he was doing, he said he’s busy, with background voices instructing passengers who finished security checks to move forward.”
That would be the plane at Hongqiao, probably going through security by now.
Wen Yangzhi looked down the endless road.
He had chosen the right path but had no way to catch up.
Jiang Jianqing was actually right.
He could get on the plane with her, but then what?
Just an hour after their argument, Jiang Yingyu was already by her side.
If it weren’t for him, there was a high likelihood that she would marry Jiang Yingyu, as they were the most favorable match for an arranged marriage, and Jiang Yingyu liked her.
She and Jiang Yingyu were truly a match made in heaven; he was just her brother.
She was always ready with a backup, he truly wasn’t the only one.
From the other end of the call came, “Hello? Yangzhi, are you listening?”
“Yangzhi?”
Wen Yangzhi snapped back to reality, pressing on: “What happens if I don’t disturb her now? Then what?”
“Admit your fault, see things from her perspective, correct your mistakes immediately, and not with flowery words. NPDs don’t respond to flattery and won’t easily be pacified by obfuscating the issue; you need to immediately address the key issues she cares about.”
But Wen Yangzhi was helpless, feeling powerless in the night: “You know better than anyone, with boundary disorder, I can’t marry her.”
In fact, Jiang Jianqing had never been quite sure about the extent of Wen Yangzhi’s feelings for Yun Yuwan and whether it was worth the pursuit,
“Do you love her?”
As if plunging into the sea, Wen Yangzhi’s eardrums buzzed, and the icy seawater filled his mouth and nose.
If he didn’t love her, he could have married her long ago.
At this moment, going to her felt wrong, but so did staying away.
He could give her everything she wanted except for the one thing she yearned for—a family from him.
He didn’t even know if he could ever fix his problem.
“If I still want to find her, what should I do?”
Jiang Jianqing never imagined that Wen Yangzhi was so smitten with Yun Yuwan; he always thought it was just a slight fondness. Startled, but swiftly advising him:
“See if there are other flights. It doesn’t have to be direct; you can transfer. But don’t make any noise, and find her as quickly as you can, and tell her in person.”
Wen Yangzhi grunted in response and hung up the phone.
Yun Yuwan boarded the plane, and, perhaps due to purchasing adjacent tickets, Jiang Yingyu’s seat was right beside her.
She wasn’t sure how to handle it.
Before takeoff, Jiang Yingyu asked a flight attendant for a blanket and came over, squatting down to cover her legs, shielding the exposed part of her skirt.
His presence seemed to blend in with hers unavoidably.
Seeing him suddenly bend down in front of her, Yun Yuwan felt at a loss: “I can do it myself.”
Jiang Yingyu looked up at her, his eyes intensely dark, and gently loosened the blanket, letting the soft comfort of the fleece settle on her legs: “Millie, have I made you uncomfortable?”
She took a moment to respond with sincere honesty: “A bit.”
She hadn’t expected him to be so direct; even if he was seeing her off to Europe, she thought he might pretend ignorance to avoid awkwardness.
She was already too emotionally overwhelmed to deal with a friend’s affection.
He nodded and said gently, “Wait a moment.”
Yun Yuwan deliberately avoided looking up, flipping through the in-flight shopping magazine so intently that the flight attendant thought she had a genuine interest in onboard products.
After reaching a cruising altitude, the attendant came over to ask if she needed anything; she casually ordered a makeup kit from the current page.
The attendant smiled warmly and said she’d bring it right away.
Yun Yuwan sneaked a glance to the side and noticed that the person in the adjacent seat had changed to a young woman.
She was surprised.
Looking around, she discovered Jiang Yingyu had moved to the seat behind her.
She looked at Jiang Yingyu somewhat surprised, and he watched ahead, feeling her gaze from the side, their eyes met.
His gaze steady, Yun Yuwan paused for a moment but spoke frankly: “So you moved to the back.”
He tilted his head slightly and smiled at her.
