A Crazy Love Proposal -
Chapter 238 - 238 126 The One I Love the Most
Chapter 238: Chapter 126 The One I Love the Most Chapter 238: Chapter 126 The One I Love the Most It was the bracelet that Jiang Yingyu gave her at the Zhu Family’s flower arranging event last time.
Both Yang Ni and Jiang Yingyu had given her gifts, but she only brought back the bracelet from Jiang Yingyu.
She was still oblivious to the danger, “Yes, I’ve got another bracelet.”
Wen Yangzhi certainly wouldn’t think someone who doesn’t wear bracelets would buy one for themselves, but his gaze was unfaltering, “Who gave it to you?”
She hesitated for a moment, remembering Wen Yangzhi saying, while drunk, that he didn’t like Jiang Yingyu, worried that he might overthink, “A friend gave it to me.”
He closed the jewelry drawer, “The truth.”
As expected, she couldn’t bluff him, and Yun Yuwan had no choice but to honestly say, “It was from Jiang Yingyu.”
“Which recent event did I miss that warranted you receiving a gift?” His calm was such that not a ripple appeared.
She wrapped her arms around his waist, yet she felt as if there was some distance between them, her voice lighten as she responded to him:
“None.”
His tone was indifferent, devoid of any inflection, “Then what’s the reason behind this gift?”
Yun Yuwan quickly said, “He’s quite the gentleman, so he thinks he should bring a gift every time he sees me.”
Wen Yangzhi simply responded, “Hmm.”
With his calmness, Yun Yuwan couldn’t fathom his thoughts, unsure if he was not angry or so angry that he chose not to show it.
If that was the case, did she upset him by praising Jiang Yingyu for being a gentleman?
He suddenly said, “Let me see your phone case.”
Yun Yuwan hurriedly let go of him, turned to face him, and took out her phone to show him, using the case he had described as “co-branded with the bank.”
Wen Yangzhi said flatly, “Changed it.”
Yun Yuwan leaned her head close to him, wanting to nestle in his arms, “I changed it a while ago, didn’t you notice?”
He didn’t move away, and she carefully leaned in, tilting her head to gauge his expression:
“Are you angry?”
After a moment of silence during which he didn’t embrace her back, he brought up an unrelated matter, “Is it possible not to take him to your Belgium villa to see the climbing rose he gave you?”
Yun Yuwan failed to grasp the weight of his words, thinking it was normal for a friend to want to see how their gifted plant was growing; if Zhu Nongzhang gave her a plant, she would also take Zhu Nongzhang to see it:
“Why? That climbing rose was his gift. It’s natural to want to see how it’s grown.”
Wen Yangzhi simply said, “It’s nothing, if you want to take him, then do.”
Yun Yuwan then realized she had misspoken, and now he was truly unhappy. The less he cared, the more nonchalant he became in his response.
Her voice softened, “Don’t you want me to take him?”
He casually closed the glass jewelry drawer, “No.”
Yun Yuwan, though she wanted her friend to see the plant’s progress, didn’t want Wen Yangzhi to get upset because of it, so she wrapped her arms around his waist once more with a softer voice:
“If you don’t want me to take him, I won’t take him, okay?”
Wen Yangzhi indifferently said, “After all, it is his flower. If he wants to see it, there’s no reason to refuse.”
She hugged him tighter, burying her head in his chest, “I was wrong. I won’t let him see it. I shouldn’t have said I would take him there to see the flowers. You don’t like him, and from now on, I will try to avoid him and not accept his gifts, except for birthday presents. Is that okay?”
Wen Yangzhi didn’t speak, only looking at her.
Wen Yangzhi rarely showed his emotions, and his behavior now could only mean he was very angry.
She looked up, her chin resting on his chest, her eyes like a neglected puppy, pitiful yet eagerly seeking attention:
“Brother, you are the most important person to me in this world. I don’t want you to be unhappy.”
She clung to his waist, her eyes careful and brimming with pitiful dependence, “Brother, please, I’m begging you, don’t be mad.”
Wen Yangzhi still ignored her, his gaze emotionless as he watched her.
She tiptoed forcefully, reached up to cradle his face, and kissed him recklessly, “Stop thinking about others. No one else matters in my eyes; I love you the most, no one else is important but you.”
He was expressionless, “You say you love me now, but tomorrow you’ll be mingling with another man.”
She leaned into his solid chest, her voice coquettish with a hint of pitifulness, “I won’t do that. I’ll only be with you. I love you the most.”
Wen Yangzhi took hold of her shoulders, intending to pull her away, but she refused to let go, immediately embracing him again, her face rubbing against his chest, as if trying to coax him into forgiving her.
“Brother, don’t be angry, please don’t be mad.”
She tiptoed to kiss him again, and Wen Yangzhi slightly turned his head, so she only kissed his chin.
She was simply not tall enough, unable to stand on her toes for long, at a loss as to what to do; it had always been him consoling her, this was the first time she needed to console him.
He looked down at her, “Do you think this is right?”
“What’s wrong with it? If you’re angry, then I should coax you, why can’t it be like this?” Yun Yuwan clung to him, trying to get close.
She grabbed his collar in a desperate attempt at a cure, “I truly love you so much.”
Like someone uninvolved, he asked without a ripple of emotion, “How much do you love me?”
Her eyebrows were furrowed in pitiful frustration, her gaze anxious and lost, “I love you so much that I want to marry you now and be with you forever.”
However, he coldly shifted his gaze away and did not look at her, “I never planned to marry you.”
Upon hearing him say that, she knew his anger had not subsided in the least.
Suddenly, she reached out to pull on the zipper of his suit pants.
Just as she had pulled it halfway, Wen Yangzhi grabbed her wrist with a slightly authoritative voice, “What do you think you’re doing?”
She put on a crying face and clung to his suit pants, “I want to do you. You’ve been angry all this time, and I don’t know what to do.”
Usually, if she was unhappy, Wen Yangzhi would continue until she was happy, praising her endlessly in bed to cheer her up, which was completely different from his usual self. His flattery would leave her head spinning, and she wanted to do the same.
Wen Yangzhi had not expected to teach her bad habits. He restrained her wrist, “Not all problems can be solved in bed.”
“But you often solve problems in bed,” she accused, “and when I say I should avoid Jiang Yingyu, you’re unhappy. You don’t even object when I decide not to take him to see the climbing roses. He’s clearly just an ordinary friend. What are you actually angry about?”
He simply lowered his eyes to look at her and counter-asked, “He likes you, can’t you tell?”
Yun Yuwan felt it was impossible and argued confidently, “But he knows I have a boyfriend.”
“So what?” Wen Yangzhi genuinely didn’t know whether she was pretending to be oblivious or truly couldn’t see it.
Yun Yuwan hesitated for a moment, uncertain, “Does he like me?”
Wen Yangzhi did not answer her, just quietly watched her, waiting for her to figure it out on her own.
Yun Yuwan kept recalling Jiang Yingyu’s actions, which didn’t feel out of line because she thought it was just his habitual way of taking care of people.
It was obvious that even if the person he was caring for wasn’t her, he was still a gentleman.
She actually didn’t want to misinterpret it as favoritism because she was usually too prone to wishful thinking.
Thus, when she judged others’ feelings for her, it was generally based on their character to determine whether they would do such a thing, and Jiang Yingyu’s actions were all within the reasonable range of his personality.
But if Wen Yangzhi thought there was something wrong…
She tentatively asked, “…It’s not all in my head, right?”
The line of Wen Yangzhi’s lips moved as he replied indifferently, “Am I also imagining things?”
Yun Yuwan finally came to a resolution; it was likely that Jiang Yingyu did have a bit of a fondness for her:
“I really never considered that he liked me. I told him from the start that I have a boyfriend, and that we’re doing so well now.”
He paid no attention to her assurances, her fanciful words, and simply said, “Pull up the zipper.”
She came to her senses and gingerly reached to grab the zipper tab. He firmly grasped her hand and zipped it up in one swift motion.
For some reason, Yun Yuwan’s ears suddenly turned a bit red.
She gently let go of Wen Yangzhi’s suit pants and sat with her head down without speaking for a while, leaning against his chest, lost in thought.
Wen Yangzhi reached out and flicked her shoulder with his knuckle.
Yun Yuwan snapped back to reality, her hand on the edge of his clothes, “From now on, I won’t play with him anymore. I’ll just maintain a normal friendship and act like I really like you.”
Wen Yangzhi responded, “What about others?”
She was momentarily confused, “What others?”
But then she quickly realized, “Even if others like me, I’ll still keep my distance. It’s not just Jiang Yingyu. I really want to be with you forever.”
She tugged at his clothing, “From now on, I’ll only fool around with you.”
Wen Yangzhi pushed her away and sat down on the couch. Yun Yuwan immediately ran over and pounced into his arms.
She shamelessly declared, “Wen Yangzhi, I’m here to fool around with you.”
Whenever she laughed, there was always an air of thick-skinned persistence, maybe because her cheeks would puff up when she grinned slyly like a rascally rabbit, giving her a mischievously innocent look.
He felt as if her long ears would sway back and forth behind her head with every shake of her head.
He replied without a hint of emotion, “I want to be left alone.”
She pretended not to hear and continued to talk to him, leaning in to show him the Black Pearl necklace on her neck, “I bragged to others today that you dove for this black pearl.”
Wen Yangzhi did not react immediately, but after a while, he finally spoke:
“Picked it up.”
Yun Yuwan knew full well he was being stubborn, so she took the initiative, “Alright, let’s say you picked it up, but I love it so much. I want to wear it even at my wedding ceremony, to wear it while I marry you.”
He merely replied indifferently, “There’s a high probability that time will never come.”
She shook his shoulder with her small hand, trying to sway him but unable to budge his solid core, “How can there not be such a time? Isn’t it enough that I won’t play with other men anymore?”
He just looked at her calmly, as if these emotions only affected her and had nothing to do with him.
Yun Yuwan couldn’t help but say, “You’ve become colder and colder. There was a time at the beginning of our relationship when you weren’t so tough, and you used to say sweet things to me every day.”
“You can find someone else to start over with,” Wen Yangzhi ruthlessly replied.
Yun Yuwan got up from his lap and sat down on the carpet, “How can you be like this.”
She had no idea that the colder he acted, the more it signified his affection.
Because the passion inside of him churned, making this inherently self-controlled man feel uncomfortable, so he habitually suppressed it.
When he watched her hopping and bouncing around with serenity, those were actually the moments when he loved her the most.
