Chapter 120: Chapter 75 Pacifying the Child Chapter 120: Chapter 75 Pacifying the Child Yun Yuwan couldn’t help wanting to laugh, but she pressed her lips together, too embarrassed to let it out.

Wen Yangzhi bent down to kiss her, and as his lips met hers, she didn’t shy away. His warmth enveloped her, and she only wished for him to be closer. Wen Yangzhi leaned down, flipped over while holding her in bed, and cradled her into his arms, lying on his side.

The room was quiet, with only a soft breeze from outside. The tender tranquility was like a gently flowing mountain stream, and the kisses between their lips were like a fresh breeze.

Yun Yuwan pressed close to him; just as he let her go, she followed suit. Her lips rested against the hollow of his neck, and drowsiness crept over her, yet she was reluctant to sleep.

He kept pinching her hand, his thumb caressing her fingers. Her hand had always been a bit cold, but holding onto his hand, it grew warm.

He always held her hand while they slept.

She inexplicably felt a light joy.

It wasn’t kissing nor hugging, but he was unequivocally right here, staying with her. It was something very ordinary, yet it felt like it should very much belong to her.

If someone could be there for her steadfastly, forever, then perhaps she wouldn’t be so afraid.

She wished for Wen Yangzhi to stay by her side forever, never leaving, as if they were symbiotic beings, together no matter what.

When Yun Yuwan got up in the morning, she saw it was already ten o’clock and guessed that Wen Yangzhi had probably gone out.

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she went downstairs, only to find Wen Yangzhi sitting on the terrace downstairs, wearing a T-shirt and long pants, reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.

In the daylight, he looked paler than under artificial lighting, his complexion even and clear, flush with health. With the bright, even sunlight, he looked even more radiant.

Yun Yuwan often wore makeup, she knew very well that in natural light, flaws in her complexion would be more exposed and obvious. Not so for Wen Yangzhi; it was the opposite for him.

Perhaps because a beauty needed not to hide, born to sit high in the hall of light.

In daylight, the impact of his face was even stronger. His eyebrows and eyelashes were already dark and dense, his complexion in contrast was pure white, resembling an oil painting with perfectly clean colors. One glance at him would strike you with his astonishment and handsomeness, yet he seemed cold and inaccessible.

Yun Yuwan was surprised, “Aren’t you going to work today?”

He flipped over a page of the newspaper full of foreign language, his broad shoulders leaning against the chair, and said languidly,

“Not going today.”

Yun Yuwan mumbled curiously, “You have so much free time.”

He glanced up at her, then lowered his gaze back to the newspaper,

“I have to coax you today, so I’ve cleared my schedule.”

Yun Yuwan felt like she had been choked, whispering, “Coax me?”

He closed the newspaper, his fair and slender hands folding it neatly before setting it aside, casually saying,

“Coax the kid.”

She wanted to say she wasn’t a kid anymore, but then thought, what was the point of emphasizing that? She hadn’t even started to criticize his aging bones.

Yun Yuwan checked her phone, it was half past ten.

She was silent, and he glanced up at her before returning his eyes to the newspaper. The sunlight cast a straight beam of light along his sharp and firm nose:

“Where’s the teddy bear?”

She was surprised he had noticed the teddy bear tied to her phone.

Feeling a bit guilty, she said, “A friend gave me a new phone case, so I took it off.”

Wen Yangzhi stared at her, making Yun Yuwan feel uneasy.

Fearing that he would scold her, she pre-empted him, grumbling under her breath,

“It’s your fault for not giving me a new one. I didn’t want to use the old one anymore, and besides, they even drew me a chibi portrait. Look how well they drew it.”

He wasn’t angry with her. Instead, he squinted slightly, studying the pattern on the back of the phone case, his gaze investigative as he examined the style of the avatar.

Before he finished examining, she remembered the argument they had had the night before, felt still angry, and hid her phone behind her: “I hate you.”

He wasn’t angry. With a slight smirk and a tick of his eye corner, he lifted his eyelids slowly as if he could see through her guilt, somewhat mockingly,

“Slept so soundly last night and now hate your brother again today?”

She knew her actions did not match her words, but she wanted to provoke him:

“It’s not only now; I’ve been afraid of you for a long time. Seeing you makes me want to run far away.”

Wen Yangzhi, unhurried, took a sip from his coffee cup, his tone relaxed, “So you still remember you’re afraid of me. Then why did you sleep with me?”

Startled by his blatant nonsense, she glanced around and saw that the servants and butler weren’t present. She breathed a sigh of relief, emboldened,

“Looking for a thrill.”

He was unflappable, “I have something even more thrilling; want to try it?”

Yun Yuwan thought he was shameless. They had been fighting the night before, and now he was talking to her like this. She was defiant, “I don’t want to.”
