A Crazy Love Proposal
Chapter 100 - 100 68 So Your Jiang is That Jiang

Chapter 100: Chapter 68 So Your Jiang is That Jiang! Chapter 100: Chapter 68 So Your Jiang is That Jiang! Jiang Yingyu held the bouquet in her hand as she walked into the restaurant through the door beside her. She couldn’t actually see the other person and knew there was still a corridor to walk through, yet she felt as if she could hear his footsteps.

In fact, she couldn’t hear a thing, it was just the knowledge that he was getting closer.

Yun Yuwan picked up her glass almost unconsciously and took a small sip of the hot rose tea.

She heard the sound of conversation coming from outside the glass conservatory, French, a natural exchange of pleasantries and laughter.

Her undergraduate studies in London were taught in English, and her master’s in Ghent was in Dutch. Belgium indeed has a French-speaking region, but her French was a bit rusty, only understanding the basic vocabulary.

She could only make out a refreshing masculine voice and the cordial, laughing voice of a middle-aged man.

Yun Yuwan couldn’t understand, thinking that his early arrival might be because he knew someone in the restaurant, so he arrived early for some chit-chat, probably not coming in any time soon.

She wasn’t in a hurry and started checking her phone.

The sunlight shone on the glass, casting a reflection of white ripples that danced across her face, rippling like water, dispersing like clouds, with layers of dark and light green leaves casting dappled shadows, giving the glass conservatory a sense of tranquility even amid the bustling city.

Yun Yuwan checked the latest trending topics and found Wen’s name at the top of the hot search.

The scandal involving the misappropriation of two billion in funds had been turned on its head.

The blog post clearly stated that Wen’s had a proprietary operating system where, after work hours, all data would be simulated within a fake internal control system. The person who thought they had misappropriated two billion,

in reality, hadn’t gotten a dime.

Even the interface of the computer he used to gamble on stock index futures was fake; the Wen’s had detected his nefarious activities long ago, investigated his background thoroughly, including the futures company where he opened an account, and arranged for programmers to create a fake system in advance. It mirrored the real fluctuations in the market and was even installed on all his devices, from mobile phones to laptops. The man thought he had lost eight hundred million, but in reality, he saw nothing but a string of useless digits.

The comments below were all of shock:

“This is the first time I’ve heard of a bank using such tactics, elaborate and laborious, is it not internal strife?”

“Previously, they said the trader was transferred from the middle office and was very familiar with computers, my god, to think he got played like that.”

“Impressive! With such counter-espionage and defensive capabilities, putting money in Wen’s seems to be quite safe. Societe Generale Bank faced the same issue, but back then it was larger than Wen’s and ended up collapsing, Wen’s is awesome.”

Yun Yuwan was taken aback, remembering how Wen Yangzhi had been unfazed these past days, not having mentioned a word about it while the outside world was in turmoil, steady as still water—because he had been prepared all along.

It seemed he hadn’t even told Zhou Xing, the bank manager, otherwise the latter wouldn’t have been caught off guard.

She had thought her brother might have some sort of relationship with Zhou Xing, but her brother hadn’t even considered the man to be one of his own.

She had thought too much of it; to her brother, that man was simply not important.

The sound of the door opening reached her ears as Jiang Yingyu caught sight of her sitting calmly between the clear water reflections and the dancing tree shadows—a serenity unlike the impressions from their previous encounters.

There was a sense of poised intelligence that seemed ingrained, reminiscent of the air possessed by her parents, her grandparents, a demeanor not developed without long immersion in a specific environment.

Even though her features were soft and beautiful.

Yun Yuwan looked up at him and smiled slightly.

Jiang Yingyu entered, his hands devoid of flowers.

Yun Yuwan’s gaze fleetingly and almost imperceptibly swept over his hands.

So the flowers weren’t meant for her, but probably for the friend he had just been chatting with.

Indeed, giving them to an old friend made more sense.

Jiang Yingyu was actually quite surprised to see her, because he had arrived almost half an hour early.

Jiang Yingyu sat down opposite her, not forcing a smile, but a “long time no see, Millie,” was evident in his eyes even without his own awareness.

His entire presence was as striking as the blazing sun, making her feel slightly uncomfortable all of a sudden; he also carried a faint scent of cologne—fresh and clear—perhaps due to his prominent Adam’s apple or his sharp bone structure, he had an overall sense of being amiable and quick to laughter yet possessing a strong presence.

Yun Yuwan felt a bit awkward, having never engaged face-to-face like this before. She randomly picked a topic:

“I saw you seemed to have driven a decorated car just now. Whose picture is it?”

A decorated car refers to a vehicle adorned with a favorite anime character for decorative purposes and is known as an “itasha” (painful car).

Similar to human tattoos which are painful, hence a car with such a tattoo is called a painful car.
