Chapter 1413: Chapter 956 Firepower is Justice

Stepping through the Teleportation Portal, the scenery before my eyes changed instantaneously. As far as I could see, sharp High Towers and weirdly decadent architecture filled the view, while the air was thick with the stench of corruption, decadence, and darkness———this was Komoro, the most infamous nightclub, KTV, and bar in the Universe. Even the Evil Gods would applaud the depravity and death that permeated this place; one might even say this place was a Demon Realm in itself.

But for Duanmu Huai, this was what made things interesting, what made them thrilling, wasn’t it?

Because... he was here to wreak havoc!

Next to the Teleportation Portal stood a number of Dark Spirit Clan members, all fully armed, seemingly ready to venture through the portal to seek some amusement elsewhere———perhaps that’s why, when they saw Duanmu Huai emerge from the portal, they were momentarily taken aback, possibly mistaking this towering Steel Beast for some trophy brought back by a kindred club from outside.

That is until Duanmu Huai seized the head of one of the Dark Elves and gave the nearby Teleportation Portal a good washing with its brain matter.

Witnessing this, the Dark Spirit Clan flew into a rage, each of them grabbing their weapons, intending to teach this bumpkin from the outside a little lesson.

Unfortunately for them, they no longer had the chance.

Just then, hundreds of Night Guards surged out from the portal, wielding Bomb Guns and beginning a sweeping barrage. Within moments, the poor souls on the street were erased, reduced to a mess of bloody remnants. It was only now that these perverts, who were always high on drugs and causing trouble, whipping and enjoying S&M, seemed to finally realize something.

Komoro was under attack.

Soon, the urgent sound of alarms blared, throngs of slaves were yelled at to rush to the battlefield, and Dark Elves on high-speed motorcycles quickly prepared for combat with their typical swift movements.

But unfortunately, what confronted them wasn’t like any enemy they had faced before.

It was a True God.

Duanmu Huai raised his right hand and clenched it tightly. Then, in the blink of an eye, a massive High Tower was blown apart at the waist. Following his lead———as Duanmu Huai made his move, the upper half of the High Tower began to float up slowly, then Duanmu Huai tightened his grip, assuming a baseball batter’s stance, and swung forward.

The hundreds of meters tall High Tower instantly became a colossal bat, sweeping and crushing the entire street block before it. Delicate pavilions, towers, and magnificent skyscrapers all collapsed, crushed, and swept away, turning into an unobstructed wasteland of ruins.

The Spirit race was best at firing from the shadows, but Duanmu Huai had no intention of playing hide and seek with them in Komoro. He had a better method, to crush everything he saw along the way, to obliterate it thoroughly, not even leaving them a single tree. By then, he wanted to see just how competent these little mice, who only knew how to scurry and hide, truly were!

With this thought in mind, Duanmu Huai clenched his right fist again, then swung it forcefully forward———the blast wave roared and surged ahead, shattering and breaking everything in its path. Buildings that were once incredibly solid crumbled into almost primordial fragments scattered on the ground under the force of Duanmu Huai’s fist, leaving behind a vast expanse of wasteland centered around the portal.

"Very good, this is much more comfortable."

Duanmu Huai nodded in satisfaction, then issued the command.

"Attack!"

Hundreds of Night Guards formed a defensive line, clutching Bomb Guns, ruthlessly unleashing a torrential downpour in all directions. Under their onslaught, the Dark Spirit Clan could only retreat in defeat. Even with the Star Union Forces joining the fray, the Dark Spirit Clan gained no advantage against them.

This was to be expected, as Duanmu Huai had said before, the feature of the Star Alliance Weapons was speed and armor penetration. These weapons against the thick-blooded species like Mutants were like using an anti-aircraft gun to swat a mosquito, utterly ineffective. But they were perfectly suited to counter the Dark Elves, who were high in attack but low in defense, glass cannons. These Dark Elves didn’t even wear heavy armor on the battlefield; nearly all were clad in light gear, the kind that would halve their health with a graze, a touch of death.

If it were the Flashlights or Bomb Guns of the Tribunal, those Dark Elves might even show off their skills by dodging bullets like in The Matrix on the spot. However, the velocity of the Star Union’s mass-accelerated weapons was truly lightning-fast, leaving those who tried to dodge bullets in front of the Star Alliance Marine Corps riddled looking like a hornet’s nest———um, Neo would have probably met the same fate if he hadn’t had bullet time.

Duanmu Huai’s tactics were simple: steady and firm, followed by a barrage of gunfire. As long as the gunfire continued around the clock, those Dark Spirit Clan couldn’t get close. As for himself, he was responsible for blowing every building they passed by into rubble—after all, their purpose here was not to occupy and conquer, but destruction.

If he was facing the Spirit race, Duanmu Huai might have to worry about their proficiency in Spiritual Energy, but against the Dark Spirit Clan, Duanmu Huai was utterly unconcerned—after these rats scurried into the tunnels, they hardly used Spiritual Energy ever again, because using Spiritual Energy would summon Demons, and the Spirit race had always been a delicacy for the Obsessive Sin.

As mentioned before, Obsessive Sin, one of the Four Great Evil Gods, absorbed eight-tenths of the Spirit race’s Souls at birth. At that time, the Spirit race’s influence was greater than that of the Human Empire, virtually the de facto ruler of the Milky Way system. But after the birth of Obsessive Sin, the Spirit race was reduced to a few remaining stragglers, a mere shadow of its former self, unable to rule the Milky Way and only able to linger in the Spirit Tribe’s Ark, struggling to survive. This clearly shows how feared Obsessive Sin is to the Spirit race.

There is also a reason why the Dark Spirit Clan hid in the tunnels and did not come out after that, because they were the Race who created the Obsessive Sin. That androgynous, odd monstrosity was always fixated on the Souls of its own kind, hoping to reunite. In fact, the Souls of the Spirit race were in a perpetual state of being absorbed by the Obsessive Sin.

Of course, the Spirit race also came up with countermeasures. For instance, the Aida Spirit Tribe would use meditation and Soulstones to preserve their Souls, so as not to be taken away by Obsessive Sin. But the Dark Spirit Clan chose another path—if Obsessive Sin absorbed their Souls, they would replenish by consuming the Souls of other Races.

This is why the Dark Spirit Clan enjoyed torturing their prey with pain because only Souls that have tasted suffering could fill the void left by Obsessive Sin’s absorption.

Oh, by the way, the Dark Spirit Clan claimed to be the orthodox Spirit race because their way of life in Komoro existed before the birth of Obsessive Sin, and it was the standard lifestyle of the Spirit race back then.

That’s right, the Spirit race, which once ruled the entire Milky Way, was a bunch of degenerate, sadistic races that indulged in drugs, liked to carve flesh on themselves or others, and loved extreme G-rated perverse entertainments.

Indeed, such a race birthing a deranged Deity like Obsessive Sin was a perfect match.

As for exterminating them, Duanmu Huai did not have a shred of sympathy.

Therefore, in Komoro, Duanmu Huai was not worried that these Dark Spirit Clan would use Spiritual Energy—unless they wanted to provoke those who had been longing to reunite with their kin.

But Duanmu Huai was not afraid.

The Tribunal was expanding the battlefront, and the Dark Spirit Clan appeared utterly panicked in the face of this scorched-earth tactic. Their Attacks had no effect whatsoever. Even if these Dark Elves had any schemes, in the endless, devastated ruins, they had no opportunity to execute them.

Dozens of Flying Ships rushed over at top speed, with the Dark Spirit Clan clutching launchers, obviously trying to launch a gas Bomb assault on the Tribunal’s frontline position—but before they even entered range, anti-aircraft batteries on Duanmu Huai’s side immediately opened fire, blowing those Flying Ships to pieces in the blink of an eye.

Slaves and Mutant creatures driven by the Dark Spirit Clan also surged forward, but they were all turned into gruesome corpses under the onslaught of Bomb Guns. However, the Dark Spirit Clan didn’t seem to be giving up so easily, as it was not long before Duanmu Huai saw a warship resembling an insect claw, dark red in colour, flying towards them.

It was a Poison Blade Class Escort Warship. Duanmu Huai had seen this type of Warship countless times in skirmishes with the Dark Spirit Clan. It possessed powerful firepower, fast speed, and agile maneuvers; its only weakness was its thin armor. Duanmu Huai had also witnessed it being destroyed countless times—just like now.

"————————!"

Without any warning, this massive Warship suddenly exploded from the middle, then trailing thick black smoke, the two halves of its carcass were drawn by Komoro’s gravity, plummeting directly down. Accompanied by deafening explosion sounds, Duanmu Huai saw thick black smoke billowing in the distant outskirts of Komoro City.

There was no anomaly; in the depths of Duanmu Huai’s heart, this Warship could indeed be destroyed. In fact, he had destroyed it countless times, so for Duanmu Huai, this scene was to be expected, with nothing strange about it.

Just like this city, it would ultimately be destroyed completely, no one could save it. Along with those corrupt, filthy, and base Alien Species in the city, they would disappear completely within the tunnels.

It was only then that Duanmu Huai lowered his left hand and issued a cold command.

"Continue to advance."
