In that moment, even Sun Wukong flinched away, startled. Despite his daring nature, he had never contemplated slaughtering a Bodhisattva. Moreover, Manjushri and Samantabhadra, revered alongside Tathagata as the Three Saints of Huayan, were not so easily dealt with, right?

As expected, faced with Duanmu Huai’s assault, both Bodhisattvas’ complexions darkened, they pronounced the name of Buddha and suddenly unleashed innumerable transformations. Yet Duanmu Huai, appearing to be of mere mortal flesh, showed no fear of their divine maneuvers; with a shimmer of his form, all those Transformation Techniques dissipated in front of him. Duanmu Huai then leaped forward, landing a punch on Manjushri Bodhisattva’s head, and grabbing Samantabhadra Bodhisattva’s head, he slammed it with great force!

At the same time, Duanmu Huai was shaking his head and chanting a tune.

"Hey everybody did the news get around,About a guy named Butcher Pete（Hey, has everyone heard, about a guy named Butcher Pete）"

"Oh Pete just flew into this town,And he’s choppin’up all the women’s meat（Oh, Pete just came into this town, and he’s messing with all the women’s meat）"

"He’s hackin’and wackin and smackin（He’s pounding, knocking, slapping）"

Duanmu Huai extended his hands, transforming them into claws, piercing through the myriad transformations of the Bodhisattvas, seizing their heads with a grab and going at them with a pounding! A knock! A slap! Rendering the two Bodhisattvas utterly disoriented, unable to distinguish up from down, nor the four points of the compass. Internally, both Bodhisattvas were horrified; as divine beings, their power was boundless, yet however formidable their spells, they vaporized into nothing upon nearing Duanmu Huai’s proximity, utterly inconsequential. Yet it was Duanmu Huai who, in one hand, held one of them, hitting and smashing, all the while humming that bizarre sutra.

"Butcher Pete’s got a long sharp knife（Butcher Pete has a long sharp knife）"

"He starts choppin’ and doesn’t know when to stop（Once he starts pounding, he can’t stop）"

"All you fellows gotta watch your wives（Guys, better keep an eye on your wives）"

"Cause Pete don’t care whose meat he chops（Because Pete doesn’t care whose meat he pounds）"

What is this devilish chant, this demonic sound!?

The Bodhisattvas certainly couldn’t understand what Duanmu Huai was chanting; at this moment, they were struggling to protect themselves. They had merely wanted to preserve their mounts, never imagining that Monk Tang turned out to be a madman, daring to strike at them over mere mortals whose lives had been taken, and what horrified Manjushri and Samantabhadra even more was that their magical transformations proved utterly useless against Tang, dissipating as soon as they were employed, bringing immense desolation upon the Buddhist Law, and terror upon themselves. All the while, that eerie chanting continued to ring in their ears.

"Ever since Pete flew into town（Ever since Pete came into town）"

"He’s been having a ball（His audacity growing ever bolder）"

"Just cutting and chopping for miles around（Pounding as far as several miles）"

"Single women, married women, old maids and all (unmarried, married, even old maids spared not)"

Before the words fell, Duanmu Huai unleashed a ferocious punch onto Manjushri Bodhisattva’s chest, making the Bodhisattva wail and collapse to the ground. Duanmu Huai then strode forward and seized Manjushri Bodhisattva’s head, smashing it forcefully against the ground. A thunderous crash resounded, and the solid peak crumbled under Duanmu Huai’s blow, a crevasse extending from the peak to the ground, forming a narrow rift opening between heaven and earth.

And Manjushri Bodhisattva, blood spilling from his mouth, couldn’t stop vomiting blood, pleading ceaselessly for mercy. But Duanmu Huai was unconcerned; with his foot stomping on Manjushri Bodhisattva’s spine, he stretched out his hands and thrust them into Manjushri’s eyes and nostrils, forcefully digging in. Then with a violent yank, Duanmu Huai tore Manjushri’s head clean off the neck!

In an instant, a brilliant light sprayed out from Manjushri’s neck, but Duanmu Huai suddenly stomped down with his right foot, and a burst of black flames erupted, reducing Manjushri Bodhisattva’s figure to ashes in the blink of an eye.

"Ah———!"

Seeing Manjushri slain, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva was horrified, never expecting Monk Tang to possess such audacity or such formidable power. He turned to flee at once. However, Duanmu Huai was not about to give Samantabhadra the chance, with a backhand throw, he slung Manjushri’s head at Samantabhadra Bodhisattva’s face like a bowling ball, knocking him to the ground. Simultaneously, he continued to shake his head and hum without ceasing.

"Wakes up in the morning, half-past five（Wakes up in the morning, at half-past five）"

"Chops from sunrise to sunset（Chops from sunrise to sunset）"

"I don’t see how he stays alive（I can’t comprehend how he does it）"

"Meat’s going to be the death of ole Pete, yeah（Old Pete is bound to die by meat）"

Witnessing Duanmu Huai trampling on him, holding the glaring head of Manjushri Bodhisattva aloft, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva hastily reached out, begging for mercy.

"Minor god admits his fault, must change. Indeed it is due to my negligence that this evil creature descended to devour humans; I beg you to show mercy, grant me a chance. After all, Buddha said, ’the sea of suffering is boundless, turning back is the shore’..."
