With her aggrieved big eyes wide open, she kept staring at her own palm, occasionally lifting her head to size him up.

After noticing he had finished eating, she hesitantly spoke up.

"Where are my clothes?"

Ye Mingmei looked around but did not see her own clothes in the room.

When she woke up, she was wearing Yu Xiuzhun’s men’s shirt.

It was big enough to be worn as a dress, but she couldn’t leave dressed like this.

"I’ve thrown away those rags," Yu Xiuzhun replied indifferently with a sly smile, standing up from the dining table and entering the bathroom.

Ye Mingmei’s nerves tightened. After rummaging through the room, she finally found a pair of casual pants and pulled them on.

She also grabbed a big coat to drape over herself, concealing the marks on her body.

Only after doing all this did she walk to the door, ready to leave.

"Where are you going?"

The bathroom door suddenly opened, and Yu Xiuzhun, looking displeased, questioned her as she stood by the door.

"I need to go home. It’s late, and if my mom realizes I haven’t returned, she will definitely alert the police. You don’t want to cause trouble, right?" Ye Mingmei’s complexion turned pale, and she pressed herself against the door out of fear.

She pleaded in a trembling voice.

A glimmer flitted across Yu Xiuzhun’s eyes, uncertain of what he was thinking, then suddenly as if a conscience kicked in, he offered, "I’ll drive you home."

"No need, I can take a taxi myself." Ye Mingmei dared not let him drive her and quickly declined.

"Do you plan to hail a cab dressed like that?" Yu Xiuzhun glanced at her, noticing his oversized shirt on her and his gaze involuntarily deepened.

Without daring to speak further, Ye Mingmei opened the door and hurried out, fearful that any delay might cause Yu Xiuzhun to change his mind.

After standing on the street side for a few minutes, nearly freezing, she finally saw Yu Xiuzhun step out in casual attire, car keys in hand, twirling the keychain around his slender fingers. He walked up to the sports car, unlocked it, and settled into the driver’s seat first.

"What are you standing there for?"

Yu Xiuzhun ran his hand through his damp, short hair, casually flicking his head in a cool gesture, exuding a carefree charm under the moonlight.

It must be said, he was an exceptionally attractive man.

Yet, his capricious moods added an unreadable shade of gloom.

When he was in a good mood, he was a gentleman; when not, he was a devil.

Ye Mingmei knew this all too well.

Upon hearing Yu Xiuzhun’s voice, she didn’t hesitate for a moment, hastily scampering into the car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, she clenched the seatbelt tightly, looking straight ahead without a glance to the sides.

As soon as the car stopped at Ye Family’s gate, Ye Mingmei instantly pushed open the door and dashed out, moving as quickly as a little white rabbit desperate for escape.

She didn’t even look back at Yu Xiuzhun behind her, swiftly asking the gatekeeper to open the gate and rushing in.

Not daring to pause, she went straight through the living room and returned to her own room.

With force, she shut the door, leaning against it, breathing heavily.

Ye Mingmei’s delicate face was drained of all color, only a deep pallor remained.

Standing there, she suddenly lost all strength and slumped to the ground, hugging her knees and sobbing uncontrollably.
