Chapter 1390: Anxious Every Minute
Chapter 1390: Chapter 1390: Anxious Every Minute
Given Ye Zhanxing’s appreciation for him, he wouldn’t oppose him being with Qin Youxuan.
With the protection of the Ye Family, Qin Youxuan wouldn’t have broken up with him due to misunderstandings.
She wouldn’t have fallen in love with Dan Hanjie.
Nor would she have been entangled in the hatred of the previous generation, unable to free herself.
Jin Chenye’s lips curled into a bitter smile.
The most sorrowful thing is that he clearly missed out, yet he kept living in his own fantasies.
He kept telling himself to let go, but he couldn’t help imagining what it would be like if they could be together today.
"The entrance is here, follow me."
Without making Qin Youxuan feel awkward, Jin Chenye simply moved on from the subject, took her hand, and walked down a narrow path beside them.
After a long walk, they discovered a small gap next to the dense bushes.
"This place is hard to find; I’ve only been here once. Having been so long, I’m not sure if we can still get in. I’ll try first, wait here for me."
Jin Chenye took off his coat and handed it to her.
He stretched out his limbs, preparing to go through the bushes.
"Can I go with you?"
Qin Youxuan looked at the dense, endless bushes and expressed her concerns.
"The fewer people involved in infiltration, the better. Since Mrs. Ye doesn’t want to see you, even if you do meet her, you won’t be able to find out anything. Right now, we just need to confirm that she and Ye Mingmei aren’t being held against their will, understand?"
"..."
Qin Youxuan bit her lip, obediently nodded,"Be careful on your own. If it’s impossible, don’t force your way through. I’ve heard my dad say that there are many traps in the villa. If there’s no word from you in half an hour, I will call the police immediately."
"Okay."
Jin Chenye nodded, gave her a deep look, then turned and darted into the bushes.
The wait was excruciatingly long.
Every second felt stretched out by the God of Time, making it hard to keep calm.
Qin Youxuan, holding the man’s coat, squatted on the ground.
Not knowing how long had passed, her legs numb from squatting, she still hadn’t seen Jin Chenye’s figure, and she quickly stood up.
Checking her phone, there were still three minutes left until the half-hour mark.
Could something have happened to him?
Qin Youxuan nervously bit her lip, her cherry lips rubbed red.
Her pale fingers slid across the phone screen repeatedly, hesitating on whether or not to call the police.
She made to dial the number several times but held back.
She hadn’t heard any alarms; Jin Chenye must be safe.
Wait a little longer.
"Jin Chenye!"
Seeing a figure returning by the same path, Qin Youxuan excitedly almost screamed out loud.
She rushed forward and hugged him tightly.
With reddened eyes, "I thought something happened to you."
"..."
Jin Chenye’s body shook, he reached out to embrace her petite frame.
Seeing her reddened eyes, he paused slightly, his own feelings indescribable.
"I’m fine; the back door was locked, and I had to avoid the infrared while climbing the wall, so it took quite some time, and I got delayed coming out."
"..."
Hearing what he said, Qin Youxuan realized her reaction had been too intense.
She let go of him, stepped back slightly, and looked down.
"I always thought my dad would always be with me, but then he was gone in a blink of an eye. Now I’m so afraid of something happening to anyone close to me, so...."
"I know, I won’t overthink it, you don’t need to explain."
Jin Chenye took a step forward and raised his hand to pat her head.
"I won’t let anything happen to myself; let’s go, let’s get out first."
Jin Chenye held her hand and led Qin Youxuan out.
Back in the car, the two of them breathed a silent sigh of relief.
"I looked around, there’s no one in the villa, Mrs. Ye and Ye Mingmei are indeed both not there."
